MY HUMBLE THANKS DOC..........#800 WOOHOO!

THIS IS MY 800TH POST - THAT'S A LOT OF JUNK COMING OUT OF THIS HEAD....SCARY HUH???

Dr. Monkey Von Monkerstein awarded me this badge awhile back, and I apologize for getting to this at such a late date. I t almost makes me appear ungrateful - which I am not. It's the 'Blogging Brings Us Closer Together' award. Thank you for this award sir.

There was no specific criteria that accompanied this badge of honor, so we will let it speak for itself.

I choose to honor the following:

Utah Savage - an articulate, wonderful lady. She is a loyal friend and suffers with demons of her own, but pushing them to the farthest depths of her being - in order to be a great "friend."

Evil Twin's Wife - a stay at home mom, so totally involved with her children and their educations and formulative days - and loves her wine in a box! Chuckle, chuckle.

John abuzz - an accountant and florist who has shared some great pics of the past and current travels. A midwesterner with a sense of humor and love of the outdoors.

Leftist Grandpa - because we think the same politically and he always has something of great import to add to the news of the moment.

November Fifth - (skyewriter) Another politically charged writer. Super great posts and quite informative. We share a love of cats also.

Re-Ramblings - an Oklahoma girl, who will make you laugh. At one time she had a post of a video doing a stand-up comedy routine. She gives a great moderation on life in general.

yellowdog granny - a West Texas granny, with pizazz! She has an opinion and is not afraid to tell ya! Great postings from this lady.

I hope everyone enjoys and passes the award on to others who bring us "bloggers together."

Later................

New Look...not entirely happy yet...

I decided to try the new layout feature for blogspot, but I am not totally happy yet - I still want to do some "dressing up", but with my luck, I don't want to screw it up.

I really loved this shot from our local, albeit lousy, Fireworks display on June 28th. All the major cities around here had to cancel their July 4th displays because of the rain and dampness - most were shot off last night!

My friends returned last evening from a week at Ocean City, Maryland - and she was quite happy with her CLEAN and ORGANIZED kitchen. By the time I left, she had progressed to cluttering the room up again - but as I said - it was a "once in a lifetime" service. I will grit my teeth and bear with the mess again, I am sure. I made a pan of lasagna and had the coffee pot on - so they were happy as clams when they got home.

Finding a job is becoming painful. No one is hiring - laying off is more the norm at the moment. Three responses from resumes have come as "you will be notified when we begin the hiring process again." I think I am toooo old for this game now, but I am POOR and truly need additional income. Shite - maybe I will...oh nevermind!

If I dwell on that issue I will begin my depression again - so happy thoughts for now.

The 4th was a great day at theDonald's - my God - he had steaks so huge I was in awe. Each rib eye would feed 3 people. Jimmy fixed stuffed mushrooms and cheesy potatoes and all kinds of desserts. Truly a fun day and definitely "filling."

I'm outta here - a few things to get done before the babysitting begins - AGAIN!

Stay well and TTFN.

...it's over ...can't wait for next one!!!

The vacation is over, but knowing there will be another makes me happy!! Got home, unpacked a little, enjoyed the grandson...and all is well with the world. Got up this morning and had an email from a very nice couple I met on the cruise from London. She (Pam) must have headed directly to her computer after her loooong flight. (It was timed at 5:03 am this morning). Tom (her husband) is a London cab driver, but unlike those in America, there are stages or levels of expertise. He had to memorize something like 22,000 streets, know where the locations were of several thousand pubs and meeting centers. Amazing - could you see New York cabbies doing that? It is a very well paying job and as he well has earned - very high status and respect through his job.

More later, much to do and contacts to be made. Will have pics from cruise and especially thegrandson and his first trophy. TTFN.
