Woohoo - Post #601 - and it's a good one?!?!?!

After thedaughter and I stopped and got a bite to eat for lunch - this huge box truck was in the parking lot!!! How cool is this??? If someone was in the truck I was going to ask if they made home deliveries!!

I was already in the lane pulling out of the parking lot - and trying to get the best picture of this truck, and this old man behind me was wanting me to move - I said "isn't this funny - look at the name of this business." He was definitely OLD, OLD since he apparently had no idea what the sign was referencing. Damn old fart.

Now the fun part - was figuring out how to send the picture from my new, technologically advanced cell phone - to my puter. Thank heavens I had thedaughter with me - anything to do with a phone (landline or cell) she can figure out immediately. I swear she is the offspring of Ma Bell.

Now I have to act plain stupid here - other than "reefer" being what I think it is...what the hell is a "mobile reefer service"? I may just have to call this company and find out - so I will be less ignorant.

I really have to get some work done now - so have fun all and.....Later..........

I don't know what a "mobile reefer service is either"....

But I just put them on speed dial on my cell phone.

You know. Just in case.

Well, refrigerated and freezer tractor-trailers are referred to as reefers -- maybe the truck services broken down 18-wheelers?

HA! I would have thought the same thing as you!!!! Good for you for capturing it on your cell.

Reefers don't just keep things cold, they can also keep things from freezing in cold weather. A couple of times I hauled sheets of wet paper pulp from Mississippi to Wisconsin in the winter and I would set the temp to 40-45 degrees to keep the stuff from freezing to the trailer floor.

Nan you and Kulkuri are such buzz kills. I want the reefer truck to bring me a big load of reefer. Dammit.

My first thought was "DUDE! Suh-WEEET!" a la 'Dude, where's my car?'

My second thought was 'I bet it's driven by Harold or Kumar.' (Modern day Cheech & Chong.)

I know. My inner child is a 14 year old boy.

The line at the end of a story in a newspaper that says "See page 6A" - you know, when the story continues in a different spot? That's called a reefer line. When my professor in college was going over this in class one day, I got the giggles and couldn't stop. Something about that sweet professor gentleman saying "reefer" just sent me in hysterics!

I thought of semis instead of ganja because "reefer" in reference to dope sounds so retro, like something Kerouac would say while hanging out with the beats in the 1950s.

Gosh...I am so glad I am not alone in knowing what it was talking about... Since I pulled one of those "reefers" for 13 years...lol

There were also many times I had to have one of those little van type trucks that themom took a picture of out to work on it too...lol
