Finally over - NO more debates....none needed...

My biggest concern throughout these 3 debates was WHAT THE HELL DOES MCFART WRITE ON THAT PAD OF HIS??? Well, a fellow blogger has the exclusive! I was rolling on the floor, after my curiosity was satisfied. I couldn't have made up anything this good.

I made sure that thegrandson was in bed and all chores completed so I could watch this final debate last night. I have to say, Tom Brokaw and Gwen Ifil could take some lessons on debate moderating from Bob Schieffer. He certainly didn't allow either candidate to go to far afield. When he asked the question about the nastiness of the campaign, I was highly surprised. But after the candidates started in with their opinions, I was enrapt. McDud just doesn't get it - he was expecting Obama to "repudiate" Cong. Lewis's statement - and if Obama did I would have been at Hofstra University in a flash to smack him in the head. The disclaimer put out by his campaign was sufficient. McCain wants to "spin" the remarks as relating to segregation and the bombings, yet he missed the message of "inciting violence." I loved it - Obama is fed up with the Bill Ayers connection and just as much called McC a liar, when he kept referencing the meeting in Ayers living room.

Just go anywhere on the Internet, check any news show and today all you see are the "winks, blinks, lizard tongue and sighs" of McCain. His decorum left so much to be desired.

Now to JOE THE PLUMBER. I thought that was a farce. McCrack was not in on that conversation, but took the ball and ran with it. But I have to say - if this gentleman is buying a plumbing shop - there is no way in hell, he is going to realize a taxable profit of $250,000 in the first year - let alone, probably, five years. There are far too many write-offs for small businesses and depreciation of tools and equipment - that's just not happening. McStinky has no clue about the tax structure - if he did he wouldn't be telling you that you are getting this $5000 health credit - then again I forgot - HE LIES!!!

McC is perpetually claiming that his campaign is being "wronged", yet has nothing to back that up. He's upset because of some hateful T-shirts being worn at Obama's rallies - but with all the freedoms we have, telling someone they can't wear their choice of clothing (as long as it isn't inciting violence or blatantly discriminatory) is a definite no-no. And John McCrap NEVER scolded his crowds until after being warned by his advisers. Yet, now he wants people to believe he has always taken this high road. Grrrr........

Now we just have to get through these next 19 days - to find out who are new President will be. I wonder if Sarah Palin will be flying back to Alaska on the 4th or just wait to get back to State business on the 5th????

**************************************

Tomorrow marks the first anniversary of My best friend Jean's (Mom2) passing. I am not a person who goes to cemeteries, but my neighbor and I are going to her grave site tomorrow - just something I want to do. Her son's birthday is also tomorrow, but he lives in Columbus, OH and may be in this weekend, but I haven't heard for sure yet. I miss ya bunches Jean, we would be having so much fun with all that is going on - I hate that you are missing it all!!

Have a great day all...be back soon!

Sarah Palin and the Alaska Independence Party. Palin addresses AIP convention

This apparently was filmed in January 2008. Although Sarah Palin is the VP candidate, many say Obama needs more "vetting" than she. I disagree - when she is just a "heartbeat" away from the Presidency, she definitely needs the scrutiny.

This taped speech was for the annual convention of the Alaska Independence Party (AIP)just this past January. The founder of the AIP (Joe Vogler) said he will resort to violence to get his way - which is separation from the USA. (Joe Vogler is now deceased). By the way, Sarah Palin had given a speech (in person) in 2007.

Just some facts and quotes:

  • Todd Palin was a card carrying member for 7 years in AIP. Sara was also a member for a couple of years in the 90's.
  • "Alaska First" is their motto - how does that coincide with "Country First?"
  • (from video) "We have great promise to be a self-sufficient state" & "I share your party's vision", also "Keep up the good work." GO SARAH

According to Dexter Clark, vice chairperson of AIP, made the following comments at this national convention in 2008.

  • "But the basic argument of the AIP has always been, the number one plank in our platform, is the question of our vote to become a state."
  • "Our current governor, we mentioned at the last conference, the one we were hoping would get elected, Sarah Palin, did get elected. There's a joke, she's a pretty good looking gal, there's a joke goes around we're the coldest state with the hottest governor. And there was a lot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP member before she got the job as a mayor of a small town - that was a non-partisan job. But you get along to go along - she eventually joined the Republican party, where she had all kinds of problems with their ethics, and well I won't go into that. She also had about an 80% approval rating, and is pretty well sympathetic to her former membership."

Now, the only thing I will say - this group (AIP) apparently is under the belief that Palin is a "good" thing for their movement and to date have not said otherwise. I have serious issues with this group and Palin's connections.

When Alaska became a state - the military had over 40,000 military based their and that entailed a lot of positive votes for statehood - and according to the "natives" their votes were basically disenfranchised. But nevertheless, has Alaska fared less than if they were not brought under our flag? I don't think so.

I am boycotting local WTRF-TV in Wheeling WV....

Sen. Joe Biden is giving a speech this very minute at Ohio University Eastern in St. Clairsville, Ohio. It is being televised LIVE on WTOV9 out of Steubenville, OH, but our local Wheeling station (WTRF) is not covering this event nor are they live streaming on the web site. This is unforgivable. They didn't hesitate to "over" cover Sarah Palin's visit on Sunday and ooh and ahhh afterwards - even exaggerating the attendance figure.

I was an avid viewer for local news - but that has changed as of this very minute. I can get my CBS shows on other channels also. For a small, close and personal area, between OH and WV - this bias should not be tolerated. Now I can honestly compare them to FOX news. **This station now has a FOX channel and an ABC network - go figure??!?!?!

I'M DONE - THAT'S IT - YOU FUCKING PISSED ME OFF!!!

***It is 6:20 pm and I got a reply to the "not so nice" e-mail I fired off to the news director of WTRF. I was told that "of course we would not televise one and not the other, we televised the entire speech on our FOX affiliate." (also that my comments were totally unwarranted.) EXCUSE ME - NOT EVERYONE GETS YOUR FOX AFFILIATE ON THEIR CABLE SERVICE!!! How insane. Of course they will run it live on a FOX affiliate and trash it completely.

AHA...McCain has an ACORN connection...

Thanks to Momocrats, for finding this little piece of nostalgia from 2006. McCain appears near the end and has high praise for the many organizations present, and apparently as a U.S. Senator, I am sure he knew who he was going to be addressing beforehand! Aren't we amazed how these politicians have memory issues regularly and definitely when convenient?

***************************************

McCain just made a speech in Blue Bell, PA, and introduced his "new" economic plan, which was supposed to be introduced yesterday, but then aides said no there was not going to be a new economic proposal, and on and on and on....! Reality folks...anything proposed by either candidate is just words at the moment. Any number of these proposals would still have to follow the chain of legislation to fruition before we would see ...a change. I do not see how, well yes I do, if a RUSH is placed on these tax issues, starting January 21st - that our 2008 taxes would be affected. The IRS is not overly fond of having to redo tax booklets, tax law and forms, and this process is already started for the upcoming season.

If the Senate and House are in session, now is the time to get back to Washington and introduce these measures. I would much rather see our representatives working on these issues right now, than this stimulus package they are proposing. I have to admit that I do not see another "stimulus" as practical, not to mention the fact that WE ARE BROKE!!

Now for some reality...although I like some of these remedies, as proposed by the candidates, with the market and economy changing daily - I have to question if some proposals may be premature, do they address the right areas, and are they the right move for the future? I just don't think EITHER candidate should be throwing out all these proposals to appease the public for the sake of a vote - it is a much too serious matter.

One proposal I AGREE with is to lift the taxation on unemployment benefits. Unemployment benefits have only been taxable since 1986. (Reagan proposed this in '82). The treatment of unemployment benefits up until that time was as follows:

  • Singles with AGI of $12,000 or more (formulated portion of benefits taxable)
  • Married couples with AGI of $18,000 or more (formulated portion of benefits taxable)

I don't remember the actual formulation at this time, but after factoring in exemptions and itemization's, the taxable portion was usually low. I was against the taxation of these benefits when it was introduced (Republican tactic) - because it totally boggled my mind that these people, who did not ask to lose their jobs, were now being told they had to pay tax on the benefit. The clincher was - the state unemployment offices DID NOT withhold on these benefits originally - the burden fell entirely on the taxpayer. Withholding federal taxes came into play within two years I believe. State withholding began in the last decade.

Now for my debate hypothesis. I expect John McCain to say "my friends, we have to be very afraid of Obama, because he is dangerous - look at the domestic terrorist he hangs around with, Bill Ayers! " I just know the curmudgeon is going to address this - to endear himself to the wacko, brain dead, gullible masses. BUT - I then expect Obama to say, "well Mr. McCain, can you explain to this audience and the rest of the country of you close friendship and bond with G. Gordon Liddy, who STILL IS a domestic terrorist? ...and let the fireworks begin.

I'm sure Stephen Spielberg could do a much better job at painting this scenario - but I do my best.

It is a cloudy, yucky day today (but warm) and I feel like doing nothing! I spoke with theson on Skype and he will be heading back to Egypt tomorrow - after his fun times in Munich and Prague. He says he has some painful blisters on his feet from all the walking...but beer helps! Give me a break. I just happened to check a long range weather forecast and apparently next Wednesday, we are supposed to have SNOW!!! the high temps will be in the low 40's.......now that sucks bigtime!!!

Ciao for now - have a good one!

Have you heard the SOCIALISM label handed out????

I have been having a running argument through the Letters to the Editor, in one of our local papers. Thank heaven, this goofball guy has no idea who I am (and vice versa) or he would have me beheaded by now. Anonymity and pseudo online names work well for me. But this guy, is a McCain supporter and has been posting comments regularly about Obama being a communist and a socialist. And do we really want to return to a "fascist state?" His arguments are petty and trite with NO foundation other than basic McCain rhetoric. It is hard to get my point (and facts) across to this guy when you are limited to 1000 letters useage.

There is a fear among people in this area, it is the thought of another powerful blow to the informal racial heirarchy that has existed since the 60's when laws began to be enforced, through the Civil Rights Act. Whiteness equalled American-ness. In choosing Obama, to the conservatives he symbolizes the destruction of a social order, which they see as fundamentally American. THIS is why we are hearing the "socialism" term being tossed about.

It is so much easier for the conservatives to blame the democrats for the mortgage crisis - because democrats allowed minorities to disrupt this social order by becoming - homeowners. This gives conservatives more fodder for their economic anxieties.

Since the civil-rights era, conservatives have used "socialism" and "communism" to criticize black activists and politicians. (check your history). Jerry Falwell, was well known and much documented, as he made this correlation.

Lisa Schiffren of the National Review, this summer argued that Obama must have communist links based on his interracial background. She also stated "for a white woman to marry a black man in 1958 or 60, there was almost inevitably a connection to explicit Communist politics." Now there's the sign of our intelligent conservative base! I find that inexcusable and appalling.

Having just listened to John McCain's NEW mantra - it is all based on FEAR. He is encouraging people to be afraid of Barack Obama in every sense of the word. And I swear, if I hear "my friends" one more time I am going to throw something - anything!

I also saw a piece, where women were interviewed in Ohio, comparing Sarah Palin to Hillary and the various comments were amazing. The general concensus was that Palin was NOT a substitute for Hillary (I agree), and some were so happy that they had a force in Sarah Palin more like themselves - mother, PTA, hockey mom, and baking cookies. Cripes! Just shoot me now. And where are the qualifications to run a country????? Nitwits.

Finally, most women interviewed, preferred Palin over Hillary, because she wears skirts (as opposed to pantsuits). Now there's a solid reason for deciding a vote. Guess I won't be running for anything, I don't even like to look at my legs - let alone show anyone else - give me pants!!!

***Latest scuttlebutt....Levi Johnston (baby daddy) has DROPPED OUT of school and is working as an electrician on the North Slope. Now there's a smart move.

Palin visit now over!....on her way out.....

***Note I have added a link to a 10 minute portion of Palin rally.

Well, Sarah Palin gave her "same old" rally speech, which lasted just under 40 minutes. I am hoping to post a local video here as soon as it is available. It is strange when you know a good many of the people at a function such as this. The people standing behind her, couldn't even look at her and appeared totally uninterested, until the APPLAUSE sign went up.

The locals gave her a new chant, which she now says she is going to use: "MINE, BABY MINE!" This is a very old coal mine area, many of which were shut down due to EPA standards on coal burning. Within 3 years, there will be a new coal liquefaction plant up and running and the local power facilities have been fitted with state of the art scrubbers - so this area should thrive once again, being able to meet the new clean coal specifications. (My facts, not hers.)

At one point, Palin said, "I'm not being mean spirited or negative, but check out our opponent's record on legislation" regarding partial birth abortion and those of special needs children. She then spent 10 minutes talking about her expertise on "special needs" children, God, and Trig, and the fact that there is NO one better suited than herself, to tackle these issues as Vice President. The Reagan famous line, "Shining city on a hill" was used along with the other memorized tag lines.

Her one line "he won't talk about his record but I will. His heroic and trustworthy deeds, instead of just talking, works." At that point you could hear a few Obama remarks. When she stated, "we know who the bad guys are," then there were chants of Obama, Obama!, before she could mention a country or anyone else. This pissed me off.

I have to say, she had tele-prompters, but she stumbled around a bit. She had to find her place, in her notebook a couple of times.

I have to laugh - seriously laugh....the national media accompanying her, or HER people - are saying that there were 7-8,000 people in attendance. I put a call in to Randy Alderman, and spoke with his friend (they own the property), and the actual count was between 2 and 3,000.

I have to say, my first impression was like one of those "old time revivals" taking place. Palin referenced God and her faith and her blessings so many times, it appeared to be a religious service.

As soon as I can locate a video, I will post it - if not, take my word for it, I watched it live on TV. Our local stations are not known for expediency.

Where will they go in the next 3 weeks??????

I have now COMPLETELY read the Stephen Branchflower Legislative Report, all 263 pages. My eyes are crossing and I may also need new glasses! I have read much better material, but there are so many parts that ensure the outcome...the fact that Sarah Palin abused her power in office. Considering there are 1000+ more pages, which the general public is not privy to - I have a small feeling there may be other charges in the future. The one question I have, who the fuck is Todd Palin? He is not and was not an elected official, but apparently he is his wife's hatchet man. He didn't have an office or desk, but set himself up at a conference table in her office, in order to work alongside of her. Who did the people of Alaska elect....and why?

Granted, not one blessed piece of this and/or future investigations have anything to do with say...the state of economy, health care, or foreign policy. The investigation was definitely BIPARTISAN - regardless of the spin coming from McCrooked's camp. My feeling is that Sarah Palin is one who has abused any office she has held to date (Mayor expenses are documented), so what would she do as a Vice President? Or should I say, what would Todd Palin do? And where would it end...Piper negotiating with North Koreans? As I say, there will probably be more coming out, as the Courts have now said that ALL e-mail accounts have to be preserved, because they have been requested under the Freedom of Information Act, and will be given, as there is no Executive privilege attached - since Todd was right in the middle of sending and receiving! John McCain said in 2000:
"Sooner or later people are going to figure out that if all you
run is negative attack ads you don't have much of a vision for the future, or
you're not ready to articulate it."

******************************
Well, the people are already heading out to Brush Run Park to see Palin at 6 pm, she will be stopping in Marietta, Ohio before arriving here - supposedly a spontaneous stop at some eatery, to glad hand a little first. The venue for tonight was once the site of Jamboree In the Hills, before moving a couple miles away to a larger site. It is also called Alderman Airport for small planes. Occasionally, drag races are held in late summer at this site also.
*******************************
And now the bad news (for me), Joe Biden is going to be here Tuesday evening at the Ohio University branch, and I have to babysit - I'm so upset. I would take thegrandson, but he would not enjoy himself, and I probably would not either. I am going to check and see what I can do to make some changes for that evening. Right now, thegrandson has a yucky, snotty cold, and I would rather be the one taking care of him than a stranger. There are only two other people he has ever stayed with and I'm just not keen on that at the moment.
******************************

I'm really disappointed with the foliage this fall. Usually the colors are so vivid and this year, as you can see, rather BLAH! thegrandson has to have 5 different leaves for school this week, and they CAN'T be crunchy (according to him). This may be interesting. All the dead leaves around here are definitely crunchy, and to find 5 different kinds - I guess HIS mother has her work cut out for her! Ha! I'll defer it up to those two to solve that problem. Thegrandson has his costume for this Halloween - he will be Batman. Thedaughter remembers how easy her costumes were while growing up - I made her a HOOKER most of the time. Just kidding - some of the time. Overdone make-up, wild hair and skimpy clothes - who would know??? Last year was tough, since my best friend had just passed away, and we always handed out candy from her front porch - I ended up handing out the goodies with our other neighbor (who lives across the street). We usually have over 100 or so kids and it gets boring when I am by myself - so I shut my lights off - leave a sign with an arrow (I hate getting soaped or TP'd), and head up the street. Amazingly enough, the majority of kids that come are either from in town or across the river - because there just aren't very many kids in our neighborhood. Thank the stars - it is only for one hour!! I can handle that.

Back to watching football - my Steelers have a bye week - which is good - several team members need some "healing" time! Great Sunday all!

Today: Bush says...

IT'S A GOOD THING I'M IN CHARGE!!!!

WTF? While visiting his home town in Texas, Bush repeated this comment a couple of times today, and again, as I am beating my head off the wall, I wonder how much brain damage does this man actually have??? 100 more days in office could be catastrophic - since he has been "laying low" for the past several weeks, only coming out of his cubby hole to make somber announcements, I thought we were safe - and now this? Holy crappola Batman!

The announcement on Palin's abuse of power last night was refreshing. To hear her today, saying that "see they found I did nothing wrong" statement falls short a wee tad. With this assessment, Walt Moneghan apparently has solid grounds for a federal lawsuit - hope he gets whatever he can from Palin and/or Alaska. Since Todd Palin was cited (not charged) as to his numerous counts of "interference", that brings everything down to a personal level. Woohoo!! Did anyone else notice the statements coming from the McCain camp ALL said essentially that she was cleared? I just don't get it sometimes.

I guess there are quite a few questions being raised (by taxpayers in AK) about all the billing to the state by Palin for her (and family) expenses to attend religious events. On June 8, she flew to Wasilla to attend her regular church (Wasilla Assembly of God) and address young missionaries. She vowed to this group - to do her part to "implement God's will" from the governor's office. Bill to taxpayers = $639.50. Apparently she does not believe in any separation between Church and State.

Since taking office in late '06, she and her family have spent more than $13,000 (taxpayer dollars) to attend at least 10 religious events or meetings. According to some, these expenses fall into a gray area. Some organizations (religious) request her presence - but in my opinion, if you are NOT tending to "state matters" she should personally bear these expenses. She can freely exercise her religious beliefs while in office, but ethically if not legally, she should not be billing these expenses to the state. Maybe this issue will be raised since there are still matters to be addressed, on a state level. **An additional $10,094 was billed for worship services or religious themed events.

This is the line that wrapped completely around the Repub. HQ's - people waiting to get tickets for Palin's visit tomorrow evening. The local TV station interviewed several people in line, and the responses from some were laughable. Thank heavens they weren't aired nationally - they would make this area look like a bunch of boobs. Originally, Palin was to make a "bus tour" through the state of West Virginia before ending up in St. Clairsville tomorrow night, but according to the Charleston Gazette, I guess that won't be happening. I thought about sneaking out to the location of her stop - but, not worth my time. I'll catch the replay.

I am really interested what tack she will take though, today while in Pennsylvania she is pouncing on abortion issues. I'm curious if she will again make the Bill Ayers connection. Oh, by the way, I might have a connection: my 4th cousins, sister-in-law's uncle's great grandmother's brother's grandson - sold Bill Ayers a puppy! lalalalalalala!

CAN'T WE ALL BE FRIENDS!?!?!?

Can Johnny Mac turn the tide...

away from the hatred he has spewed??? I don't think he wants to change a thing, and possibly Palin is fueling the fire.

I feel it is too late to put out the fire John McCain has ignited. The chorus of abuse from these rallies - it appears, cannot be staunched. Today's tunes were:

a young man : "[Obama] cohorts with domestic terrorists such as [Bill] Ayers."

woman in crowd: "I don't trust Obama. I have read about him. He's an Arab."

Hours before speaking, McCain's representative, Brian Rogers sent this statement out to reporters, which defended comments from these crowds:

"Barack Obama's attacks on Americans who support John McCain, reveal far more about him than they do about John McCain. It is clear that Barack Obama just doesn't understand regular people and the issues they care about. Even worse, he attacks anyone who dares to question his readiness to serve as their commander in chief. Raising legitimate questions about record, character and judgement, are a vital part of the Democratic process, and Barack Obama's efforts to silence and shame those who seek answers should make everyone wonder exactly what he is hiding."

This tells us that McCain is acknowledging that he WON'T do anything to quell the raging tempers of his constituents - people who have that "belief without proof" mentality.

I don't want to see or hear it - but McCain is encouraging violence against Obama. Heaven forbid something like that should happen - as McCain wouldn't bat an eye. How pathetic - how very scary!

Just another fleeting thought I have - McCain is perpetuating these attacks BECAUSE...Obama appears to NOT be fighting back. Considering all the ammo at his fingertips on McCain and Palin - it would be so easy - so who is taking the high road here???? THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB!!! BARACK OBAMA.

***I have just read that the McCain camp is going after Michelle Obama and her connection to Bill Ayers. Check it out.

I'VE HEARD IT ALL NOW....

When T. Boone Pickens decided to sue Lehman Brothers today, does he now become part of the problem? Does this mean that the government will now ensure that Pickens receives his $59.9 million? Greedy billionaires. Bill Gates fell to 2nd most richest behind Warren Buffett after losing $1.5 billion. Well, maybe they will be able to relate with us, the little guys, when they are standing alongside us in line at the soup kitchesns. Like that is going to happen!

I wouldn't want these women to decide.....

the future of this country. I view this video as a "fluff" piece. These women have no clue of the difference between a Democracy and a Theocracy. I doubt that they could even debate the difference. I have no problem with the various religious beliefs of people, that is a personal choice - but I don't base political decisions from a religious viewpoint.

These women refer to Sarah Palin as "bold, authentic and she tells the truth!" This tells me, that these women view life at face value. They have not, or refuse to see anything else, when facts trump dreams anytime.

The one lone Democrat in the group states - she is a "fan." I can't remember the last time I looked at a politician from a groupies outlook. I should hope that we look at our politicians as OUR representatives, the ones who should be helping us prosper in a global economy (we see who didn't do that) and keep us competitive in that market so we can flourish. The situation at this time, is rather dreary, but look who has been at the helm? Dubya!

The majority of these women said "we get 'em", referring to Palin's winks and nods. At last count there was no award for "getting "em!" Also seeing Palin for her "authenticity (I sincerely disagree), feistiness and SHE'S A PITBULL!" Now there are some serious reasons to make a political decision! You Go Girls!!

My view, and please remember this is me - these women do not appear to be able to think for themselves. I would imagine that their husbands dictate a lot of thinking points in the family and they follow suit. Before anyone gets mad at me - like I said - this is how it appears to me! I have seen this situation and know women like these personally. I have been verbally attacked by one husband, who thought I was the Anti-Christ for even questioning - what he told his wife to say!

I have always had my free spirit and free thinking ways - I've gone against the "norm", always questioning who sets the standard for normalcy.

It appears that the "lies" are coming out more and more now. The McCain/Palin team has gone from distortions to outright "making things up entirely." George Will, conservative writer for Newsweek, has even gone against McCain. There are so many conservatives scratching their heads, wondering WTF is this man doing. He's changing his platform from one rally to the next, spouting such vile things, that he is losing his base now.

************************************************************************************

I had a brain fart last night and turned over to Greta Van Susteren, and she was playing a tape of Ohio Sec. of State Jennifer Brunner (Dem.) from earlier in the day. After playing that video, she went on to hold up TRO papers from a Federal Judge against Brunner for not handling the new voter registrations properly (which is being appealed) - but my point here, is she next had on FORMER OH Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell (Rep.). He would be the one who disenfranchised enough voters in 2004 - to give his crony Bush the state of Ohio. When that vote was questioned, he couldn't stall the judicial mechanics fast enough, to the point the ballots would be destroyed. How is that for FAIR & BALANCED?????

I also heard Cindy Lou McCain telling (gag) Hannity (on the Straight Talk Express), that her husband is the most truthful person she has ever known and how proud she is of him. You go Cindy Lou, as Tammy Wynette sang "Stand By Your Man!" - that is your job!

Enjoy the sunshine (we have it for the next few days) and the temps are going to be nice too...porch sitting soon!

This is NOT a true cross section of OHIO....

This young man is a pro-Obama blogger from Ohio and managed to catch some candid Obama views, during the McCain-Palin stop in Strongsville, OH yesterday. While viewing this, I wanted to throttle these DUMB ASS IGNORANT people. In my heart of hearts, I would hope that this is not a true depiction of my fellow Buckeyes!

The one woman stating that she has seen MORE Palin interviews than for Obama...and what planet has she been on? The woman who keeps popping into view with her O-B-A-M-A drone...it appears she has no cogent thoughts to impart either.

The frightful thing to me is this "atmosphere" that McC-P are creating - and yes, it is apparent that it is racism at its best.

Palin told conservative radio host Laura Ingraham, that Obama would: "diminish the prestige of the United State presidency!" Another asshole quote from the same interview, "doggonit, he fails to tell the American people with candor and with truthfulness what his associations are and we have to know!"

Now, I am not sure who is loading the ammunition here, but I do have my feeling that Palin is supplying the major portion, and if she can't fire the gun - she will see that dumbass McTurd will. This woman, according to the NY Times, is a "cancer" in the political arena. I have to agree with that assessment (as if you couldn't tell).

McCrinkle has been acting in his "erratic" manner since the debate the other night - as he has flip flopped on buying back the mortgage issue. Maybe he needs Aricept for his early stages of Alzheimer's.

As always, I will still be trolling the Internet and news - and will be back before you know it! TTFN.

I have been saying all along - temper, temper temper!!!

.

There are a vast amount of "old" videos on YouTube which show McCain's temper. As they say in the video, is this the man you want with his finger on the button??

Just look and what can you see?????

I took this picture on Sunday, and thegrandson and I spent a long time coming up with different versions of what we could "see." Thegrandson has a vivid imagination and was talking about ship on the ocean, then it was a friend playing ball...he had me so confused. All I could see was an old face on the right, with a jutting jaw and wearing a mask on his eyes. This continued for quite some time, as it was truly a drab and dreary day - but just plain old FUN!

Even though the days are cooling off, we still found time to cook out. When thedaughter works till 3:30 or is off for the day - this is just fun and easy. Even though I "close" the deck up for the winter months, the grill still stays close to the door - because whoever said you CAN'T grill in the snow! I wish I had an even larger deck - theson bought me a firepit (covered behind daughters legs) and we have enjoyed it also. Trying to find small amounts of wood is not always easy though. I do not have any burning fireplaces, so buying wood by the cord is not an option. I may have to go on a nightime raid!!

On the 12th, it will be 8 years since my husband passed away - and on the 17th it will be one year since my best friend/pseudo sister passed. I have been thinking a lot about them lately, just my annual "blues" time I guess. My best friend (Mom2) passed away on her son's 30th birthday, which was so very sad and tragic in my mind. I talk with theRuss regularly and last week he said, "you know it has been almost a year", and I have to say, I am so proud, as to how well theRuss has functioned since losing his wife.

On to another subject - last year while theson was at home, I had him put Christmas lights around the eaves on the house (he bought a $200 ladder to put up $30 worth of lights), and since I knew he would be out of the country for Christmas this year (he left for Egypt in January), I thought, what the hell, I can be a redneck - and was going to leave the lights up till this Christmas. Drat, curses, rats....that didn't work - we had so much wind, they started hanging on one side of the house - so I just grabbed ahold and pulled them down. It was funny watching all the "clips" go flying across the street and into the yard. So, I'm now going to have to figure out if I can climb a ladder onto the roof - to put them up again for this year!?!?! If you hear a loud "thud" or pictures fall off your wall - that would be my fat ass hitting the ground!!

I've got to hit the dollar store - paper product day, I call it! Then on to bathroom cleaning and vacuuming later.

I thought I would just give you a "political" break. Trust me, someone will say something soon and I will be back!

Have a good one - I'll be back later! TTFN

OK Prisoners - how are ya gonna vote now???? Listen...

This was too good to pass up!!

WHAT DOES IT TAKE...I know Americans are not stupid!?!?!

I am watching Palgal and McCrotchity in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania - and I guess he hasn't read the reports that he LOST the debate last night. But that is not my point. Why don't people check out the fact, look up politicians records? Every voting American should take this as a personal responsibility.

McCain is again popping out the same LIES and distortions, spoon feeding these naive people more of his senile pablam. He just said "my opponent accuses me of lying - and I have been and always will be nothing but honest with Americans. And you can bet that if I ever would need advice - it wouldn't be from a Chicago politician." What a fucking asshole.

The more I hear SP's voice, it has become like nails on a chalkboard. She has memorized her lines well, but much like thegrandson, I wonder if she "comprehends" what she has learned. I have no doubts that she can spout the words, but any research as to origins of bills, discussion on bills, dates of aggression in Iraq, you know trivial little things like that - she has NO CLUE!

I still have Joe Biden's words ringing in my head: PAST IS PROLOGUE! That should be the chant all the way to November 4th. Four more years of DUH Bush politics, cannot fly.

I watched the video clip of Sean Hannity (hold on, taking a nitro) - and he was taking on one of Obama's aides. The argument was over the anti-semitic commentator who Hannity had on the other day. The vile, garbage that came out of this man - the FCC should have shut the show down! But I digress, Obama's rep held his own, even with Hannity shouting over top - even Alan Combes couldn't calm them down. Again, Hannity was pushing the "terrorist Bill Ayers" and idiot Hannity wouldn't accept that 40 years ago means nothing, no conviction means nothing, no "palling around" means nothing - he then wants to connect Obama to Louis Farrakhan! Watching the imbalanced and unfair FOX news is not for me!

Now onto someone I have not discussed very much - Cindy Lou Hensley McCain. Yesterday, she was quoted as saying the Obama team is "running the dirtiest campaign in American history." Hmmm...is that so Ms. botox Queen???? And today, since she apparently has found her voice, she lashes out at Obama, for voting against a bill to fund troops in Iraq. "The day Sen. Obama cast a vote not to fund my son, when he was serving, sent a cold chill through my body, let me tell you!" I wonder how cold she got when her husband refused to vote for body armor and equipment for her son??? The vote she is referring to was in '07 and Obama was one of 14 Senators who voted against a spending plan for emergency funds for our troops overseas. Athe time Obama and other Democrats were pushing for a "timeline for withdrawal" which was not included in this bill. Obama did vote for a funding proposal which had the timeline for withdrawal - a bill which McCain opposed! So there, wicked witch of Arizona!

GAG ME TIME!!!!

It was just announced on our 5 o'clock news that - now are you sitting down? - SARAH PALIN will be visiting here Sunday at 5:30 pm. thedaugher said she would shoot me if I went - I'm safe there! St. Clairsville, Ohio (Belmont County) is very Democratic - this could be interesting. When the Belmont County sheriff (Rep.) was interviewed, I swear he was drooling, (I thought his dentures were going to fly out of his mouth at any time) telling that the Secret Service is in the Valley now. I hope they don't show up at my door.

***I understand that the Secret Service is trying to identify the man, who shouted "Kill Him", referencing Obama, at the McCain rally the other day. That would be cool if they found him, prosecuted him and his defense would be that "McCain INCITED me to that point!"

'THAT ONE..." McCrack fukks it up again!!

I have already said that I believe Sarah Palin (working as a McCain hatchet person), has INCITED a racial undertone to this campaign. Now, during tonight's debate, McCain, thinking he is funny I guess, points to Obama, across his chest, and says with his smirk - "that one." Not funny, not smart, despicable.

For all the pundits who said McCain had to knock this one out of the ballpark - guess what??? IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!

I feel Obama was cooler, well spoken and informed, far superior to McCain. It was not a bombshell of a moment for Obama - but I feel, as the focus groups did, Obama won this debate.

I found it strange, not actually, but when health care was discussed, the women in the focus groups were much higher than the men. When the subject turned to defense or war - men carried the "high" line. That must be those "Joe Six-Packs!" Just kidding, I tried to explain to thedaughter (yes, she sat and watched and asked questions), men's perspective, as a rule is far different than women when it comes to defense and war. Women are thinking about the young men as sons and fathers firstly, for lack of a better way to explain.

So what do we have to look forward to tomorrow? Will Sarah Palin still be spewing her venomous lies? Angering the crowds towards Obama? She definitely scares me - as she should scare those who think she has the ability to EVER run this country!

MY VERY HUMBLE OPINION (sure) for tomorrow's debate conclusions: WIN FOR OBAMA! Not a huge win, but a win nonetheless. **Note: McCain didn't shake Obama's hand when offered at conclusion of this debate! Hmmm.....I'm shocked. {{Wink, Wink}}

Worth watching....

LINK TO REMOVED VIDEO!
(It was annoying)

I do think this is an interesting video. Back to my previous post, I forgot to mention that according to one network, at Palin's Florida stop, their sound man was attentively working when a white man (using the "N" word among others) told the sound man to "sit down BOY!" I abhor this language from anyone - PERIOD!! Although the news agencies are reporting all this - who is going to stand up to it??? The general concensus is that neither the McC or Obama camps can be held responsible for the outbursts from these crowds - but doesn't the word INCITE come to mind? People can be charged (and are) with inciting riots all the time - last time I can remember was at the Republican Convention in St. Paul, MN.

Don't ya think Tim Russert would be rolling over????

I have been trying to compose myself, as the rage has intensified to unhealthy levels, within my body. I detest to all limits LIARS!!! And a liar who utilizes such tactics to get such negative responses - should burn in Hell. I am referring to the McStupid and Palgal's speeches from yesterday. Since they have chosen to connect Barack Obama to the radical beliefs of the 60's and 70's - the responses from the crowds (these are on the multiple video tapes) of "TERRORIST" - "KILL HIM" - and "TREASON" have been the result. This makes me very afraid. My personal opinion is that McAryan has been a racist for most of his life - Palin, I doubt, she's not smart enough to make the connection. But they have opened a can of worms and can never reseal that can. I have seen the people that this McC/Palin team have been appealing too, and it is frightful. The arguments I have managed to get into (now, aren't we shocked?) have been futile. I walk away wondering how some of these people have managed to survive in this world, for so long. Their perception of reality is totally whacked! Facts and truths mean absolutely nothing, I repeat nothing to these people.

Since, I did my first research paper in junior high school, I have loved to research everything. The majority of people that will be voting on November 4th, take what vitriol is put to them, as gospel and therefore, "my mind is made up now!" I am very glad that there are so many new, young voters - mostly from college campuses, and inquisitive enough to listen to ALL points. Hopefully, their decisions will be made with a deep concern for the future of this country and the avenues they decide to travel, be it business, education or corporate.

***********************************************************************************

I do believe the I.R.S. needs to further scrutinize some issues on both McCain and Palin's returns. McCain has not claimed one penny in gambling winnings (and it is well known how he likes the crap tables) over the years. Granted he can deduct losses in proportion to his winnings, so why hasn't he? Hmmm... makes me wonder. A bigger issue though would be the $43,500 Palin's received for travel and lodging for First Dude and the kids. Nada, nil, nothing was claimed in that area. Although the McC camp released an opinion letter from a Washington, D.C. criminal tax attorney, saying they complied with Alaska law...there are opposing opinions from former I.R.S. lawyers, saying there is basically no wiggle room as to the $23,000 for the Palin kids - that is reportable and taxable. First Dude is a gray area, as a spouse, he is sometimes required (?) to be with his wife. FD's "snow machine" winnings being reported as a Sole Proprietor business may come under scrutiny also. He has written off more deductions - relating to what - 2 races at most a year. Nothing, in reality, will happen on these fronts till long after Nov. 4th I am sure.

*********************************************************************************

WILL TONIGHT BE THE NIGHT???? Will McCain's blood pressure raise to level of making an ass of himself? Will Obama say just the "right thing" to drive him over the edge? I have no doubts that Obama can remain cool - but McCyanide does not have that kind of reputation. Will the Keating issue arise? Former Se. Dennis DeConcini said in an article yesterday, that he basically feels Obama should continue, as he felt and still feels that McCain got off way to easy in that scandal (I agree). Because McC was a member of the US House - the Senate concluded it had no jurisdiction to look into McC's travel and investments with Keating. DeConcini is not alone in that thought. When this was all over the news in early 90's, many people felt there was plenty being brushed under the rug, as it were.

********************************************************************************

NOTE OF INTEREST: Jerome Corsi, author of the Obama attack book "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality", the book which fuels McC's smears, was arrested and deported from Kenya this morning. He was in Kenya (sponsored by a Christian group) to promote this book, which definitely was not received well - what a dumb ass, Obama's father was a renowned Economist from Kenya, and there are still relatives there who think well of Obama. Such is life, I guess.

********************************************************************************

I still have so much to do before the debate tonight. If I am lucky, I may get thedaughter to sit with me through this one too. Thegrandson has slept with me the past two nights, as his mom works 7-3:30pm, and I have to get him up for school - as I have said before I don't sleep well, when he is there. He's a bed hog, hates blankets, and has dreams that involve kicking sometimes. Grrrrr......... He is so lucky I love him dearly!!

Behave all, and catch ya later! TTFN.

Get the latest news satire and funny videos at 236.com.

Since John McSame is using Palin as the "hatchet guy", then that is who I have to go after. In Palin's speech in Oakland, Ca., she referred to Afghanistan as our "neighboring country." There have been so many DUH moments - it just has to be mentioned. This was an article on Reuters "Tales from the Trail." I found one of the comments regarding SP amazing, yet not surprising. Connie Malfa (no city) wrote:

"I like Sarah because she portrays herself as a real person. That's what kind of politicians we need. So she's not quick with answers...which the press seems to be jumping on. So what. She's managing a state that one has to be physically and mentally aware - to live in. That's smart. I haven't heard a lot of complaints from Alaska about political blunders by their politicians. Coming from Alaska to the mainland of the U.S. is enough to make most anyone slow their speech down and look surprised. The U.S. rates pretty high on the BEST PLACE TO LIVE chart. Let's listen to her."

I stated earlier that if McCain chooses to use the "guilt by association" tactic, it may come back to bite him in the ass. I hear now he is going to start with Rev. Jeremiah Wright (the jerk-off preacher.)

OK Johnny Mac...
**how about your relationship with Jim Hensley (father of future wife Cindy Lou) and his felon record?
**how about your close bond with G. Gordon Liddy?
**how about Bobby May, head of the McCain/Palin Leadership Team in Virginia - author of a pamphlet claiming that Barack Obama favors "Black Liberation Theology Classes", that BO would make Al Sharpton, Sec. of State, and "hire Ludicrous to paint the White House black!"
**how about your bragging about your deep collaboration with one of the most prominent Vietnam era radicals (60's) David Ifshin? Ifshin denounced America on Radio Hanoi while McC was a POW. He led the takeover of Syracuse University campus, went on to Uruguay and tried to takeover a campus there, was arrested and deported. Later in life, he moved into mainstream politics. Hmmm...guess what, he took up education - and till the day he died in '96 at 47 years of age - he never apologized for his actions either.

This list can go on and on. McCrackhead should know better than most - THAT WE ALL HAVE A PAST! Some good and some possibly bad...but we move on and hopefully learn. Those learning experiences are what define us in our lives. All this vile spewing of distortions and outright lies - can actually be countered with truths against the McCain team. I would also like to see Todd Palin's connection (a years long membership) in the organization which preached SECESSION (of Alaska) from the U.S.A. That is traitorous.

The new Obama ad should be coming out momentarily, here on the internet. I'm sure I'll be back later. TTFN.

I advise Obama to fight back....but I have a meaner streak...

than Barack Obama. Just my take in general, Obama has taken the high road so many times, and seems the better caliber of gentleman. For the McAsshole team to take this nefarious track and try to slime Obama "by association," there is plenty of attacks to head towards that wrinkled, LYING, scumbag! If you don't want to hear a rant - then shut me off now.

I have made no bones about how I feel about McCan't, and his POW status. I have laid out the groundwork previously, as to how he treated those who DARED to question him on the Senate floor. The bottom line is McCain was a collaborator, he is not well thought of by Vietnam vets in any way. Please, take the time to watch this video. Rather than me taking the time to type all this out - these gentlemen cover the bases well. This is an issue that should follow McMoron till the day he dies. He used and continues to use his influence to secret these records - records that would humiliate and ruin him. Not to mention, possibly answer questions on those MIA.

Obama should reference the Keating 5 scandal. Granted, due to lack of oversight and proper committees to deal with those issues at the time - McCain was cleared, yet rebuked for "poor judgement." He should have been ousted, because of the conflict of interest Cyndi McCain and her family had by the investments in Keating business. Not to mention the $112K Keating donated to McC's campaign. (**Cyndi and her father had a $360,000 investment in a shopping mall venture w/ Keating). The ensuing S&L crisis had a $500 billion price tag by the way!

Obama could also reference John Singlaub (as long as McC is using "guilt by association), and his connection to McLiar - they sat on the same board USCWF (US Council for World Freedom), an ultra right-wing organization. Singlaub also became embroiled in the Iran contra scandal in '81. This USCWF espoused (according to a former member) "largely a collection of Nazis, Fascists, anti-Semites, sellers of forgeries, vicious racialists and corrupt self-seekers."

Again, McCoconut has opened a can of worms that could very likely backfire.

Other "guilt by associations"
1. Palin - part of an organization preaching secession from the USA (or a family member.)
2. How about the right-wing wackos that were blowing up abortion clinics - I'm sure if I can get to Kevin Bacon in 7 easy steps - there's a correlation there somewhere.

I was reading an assessment by Kathlyn and Gay Hendricks (partners in relationship therapy), and they were analyzing McCuckoo's body language from his debate with Obama. I wasn't surprised by what they had to say about the McCain Smirk, the McCain Jaw Clench and Body Talk trumps "mouth talk".

According to the Hendricks' the Smirk says that "I hold you in utter contempt (now there's a shock) and I am superior to you. My disdain for you is boundless." In this relationship (McC as nominee, we as electors) be it couples or the masses - CONTEMPT is a signal of doom to a a relationship. Well I'll be damned.

The Jaw Clench - "The painful art of biting back anger," by us noticing the constant clenching of his right jaw (as left is swollen from prior cancers) is saying "I'm mad as hell and trying desperately not to show it!" Aha - we caught ya!

Body talk trumps mouth talk - "mouth talk can be entertaining (just watch SP) but when nervous the words can sometimes (HA) make no sense whatsoever, become twisted stories or just outright lies."

I'm sure I'll have more fuel tomorrow as we head into the backstretch. My Irish gets raised when I hear such blatant lies in order to try and discredit someone. I also have to note that McC is letting Palin be the hatchet guy here, although he was asked by reporters, and he stands behind the accusations as 100% truths. Please, people have to realize this man has totally lost his last gray cell - "erratic" is putting it nicely.

Have a good Sunday evening! Later.

SNL has done it again...hilarious...

I can never get around to watching SNL, but I'm glad I can catch the morning after clips. I think they caught SP's real persona again!!

I am furious that the McCain camp is now using Bill Ayers, the 60-70's member of the Weathermen as fodder against Obama. No matter what the true facts are - this team has "brainwashed" Palin into running her mouth, about an era she definitely knows nothing about. In the late 60's and early 70's - the word TERRORIST was never used, most were referred to as anti-war activists. Bill Ayers was never convicted and if this team wants to go that route...now is the time to bring up KEATING 5. McCain wasn't convicted either, but the link between the S&L scandals and collapse ring very close to the financial crisis of the moment.

Another scenario - would be for either Sarah Palin or McCain to be served SLANDER papers while giving a speech - what a trip that would be.

Found this...just to keep it "out there!"

Thanx Juddy, just have to use this here also.

Now, I am totally amazed that Sarah Palin and the "First Dude", think they can single-handedly save Michigan for their ticket. "Aw, shucks, we're NOT in Michigan anymore?" "You betcha, I think FD and I can tour through those wonderful auto manufacturing plants, and win McDumbass our election!" Lalalalalalalala! The woman is so far from reality - maybe it is that freezing arctic air or lack of sunlight - there are definite issues with the woman.

I loved the reports earlier, that the McAlzheimer team was headed to a posh resort in Sedona, Arizona, so he can "bone up" for Tuesday's debate, yet, in the same article, it states that he is going to his mountain retreat. Now which is it? I am betting on both!

If anyone missed my Twitter from last night - thegrandson saw a picture of McC on my computer and said, "I know him - he's on Cheaper By the Dozen!" Close, but no cigar!!

Theson is in Munich, Germany for a little R&R (Oktoberfest too) - as far as I know. I told him to Skype me before he left, but I think he was busy celebrating the end of Ramadan, and clicked me off the webcam! Snotty child!

Think I will STUMBLE for a little while - have a good weekend all!

20/20 hindsight...and I believe this crock!

VIDEO REMOVED

ANNOYED - ANNOYED!! Puh-leeze, give me a break. She is not engaged in a game of schoolyard marbles here - she is running for (gulp) Vice-President!! None of Katie Couric's questions were "gotcha" types - and I am sure had Palgal wanted to broach these other subjects she mentions - Couric would have gone along with the plan.

Now, this is my skeptical mind running rampant again, but does anyone else notice that the topics she mentions are the SAME TALKING POINTS she fell back on in the debate. Hello Sarah...I am not a moron!!! These talking points she wants to bring out are the exact same ones that have been "fact-checked" and proven wrong or distorted - yet repeated over and over but her fearless leader.

Curiosity killed the cat, so they say...but what do I care, my cat is a pain in the ass, but anyway - wonder if SP will make any of the Sunday news shows this weekend!! I say, why not, she has been brainwashed with all the pertinent right wing mistaken garbage - let it all out.

I also find it sad, that poor Sarah is "outside the Washington elite AND the media elite." Nobody will let poor wittle Sawah play wiv 'em! That was rather catty, I admit.

I may have to head to a shrink - this makes TWO references to FOX news in one day - this is a bad sign!

Cheerio - pip pip - tata, I'm off for now. Later and TTFN.

HOORAY IT'S FRIDAY! No biggie to me, just another day. :(

I cannot digest BILL O'REILLY....what an ass!

I stumbled on this video, and it made my blood boil. Bill O'Reilly, just like his cohort Hannity, would much rather SOUND superior by just yelling. I have stated before that I do like Barney Frank, and he can hold his own in most arenas, but look at this video and tell me - wouldn't you just tell O'Reilly to fuck off and leave? I would - in a heartbeat!

As I was making the round on fellow blogs, I am stealing this video from Illiterate Electorate - only because I lived this - I sang this for years - I lost too many friends in Vietnam - it was our time!

Simple song, Country Joe and the Fish made their point! We could almost sing the song today - what are we fighting for? Bush's made up WMD's? Too many young men have died for this man and McIdiot will see that more come home the same way. My hippie days are coming back now - forgive me.

McCain's $5,000 Medical Credit....NOT!!

This is one area, I have literally talked about till I'm blue in the face. People hear "woohoo, I'm going to get a $5,000 credit on my taxes!" and they are sold. Please, please understand - the odds of getting a full $5K credit are slim.

I have been doing taxes for over 30 years and have seen how people are "let down" when credit promises are never what they thought. I will try to make it simple.

Your employer pays $800/mo in health insurance for you which equals $9600.
Assume you have taxable income of $50,000 - now add this $9600 to your taxable income. Please keep in mind that an amount this large, more than likely moves your tax bracket up - let's say 28% now. That would be an additional $2688 in taxes (also, there would be no Federal withholding on this additional taxable income.) Thusly, you are now paying more "out of pocket" for the tax liability.

In one scenario it is possible that because of your income level (higher) you may face phaseouts in exemptions. Knowing how the IRS likes to structure their credits - I am sure that you would have to be in the very low income levels to get a full $5K credit, and as your income increases - this credit too, would phase out...and you would be left with paying taxes on this additional income with NO safety net. THIS IS THE WORST PROPOSAL FOR TAXPAYERS!! Oh, and let's not forget the tax liability on a state level - McCain cannot guarantee a credit there, that would have to be legislated through the individual states. Also, I was being generous in stating a figure of $800/mo for insurance...the way the industry changes (daily) that figure could be MUCH higher.

Don't be fooled by the smiling Wasilla wench. I'm sure she only parrots the words, and has no idea of how the process works.

I'll be back later - watching the House on CSpan - we'll see how they handle this rescue package. Boehner & Blunt (nice name for a candy bar), are again screaming for passage - we'll see if they get mud in their faces this time!! they are getting their PORK - who could ask for anything more!?!?

Thursday, October 02, 2008

Well, she didn't stutter....but boy can she ramble on....

I have to say, I listened to every word and I mean EVERY word! First we have Sarah coming out, shaking Joe Biden's hand and asking if she can call him Joe - which near the end of the debate - I know why she asked that question. Her coaches gave her a sharp retort to use (if possible) and she found her opening to let out "Say it ain't so Joe, there ya go again!" We heard enough of the Alaskan folksy banter and a good deal of bad grammar, i.e. "we have not got...", now that hurt my eardrums.

My overall judgement of this debate is that it wasn't boring by any means. I knew that Palin would come out, self assured and present herself well. She had her cheat sheet with her, the one that contained all the pertinent talking points, and tried her best to utilize them as best she could. But Biden showed exemplary knowledge and this was one of his better debates.

When both candidates were asked "what programs would you cut due to the change in economic atmosphere" (i'm paraphrasing) - Biden was immediate and upfront with the programs that would be affected - yet Palin could not name anything and again, relied on her "Wall Street corruption & greed" line, or her energy stance.

Biden detailed the Obama/Biden Iraq exit strategies and Palin could not elaborate but again back to Wall Street and energy, of course that was after she told "Joe" that he was "waving the white flag of surrender" in his affirmations. (Again, a talking point directly from her cheat sheet.)

I think, that Palin knew she had to come out on this stage and try her best to repair her intensely damaged image. I honestly do not believe she achieved that goal with the masses. People, by and large, can tell the difference between scripted and rehearsed lines as opposed to spontaneous. She shuffled her papers to get to her tag lines for the applicable questions. I have to admit, I am sick of her smiling smirk - for lack of a better description.

When Joe Biden was detailing the comments by General McKiernan today, and how the General made the statement that an Iraqi type "surge" would not work in Afghanistan - she came back at Biden, saying he was wrong that Gen. McClellan (she got the name wrong twice) did not say that - well, excuse me - YES HE DID!! Joe Biden could have corrected her, but held his tongue.

Her fall back line was that she wasn't a Washington person, just an outsider, you know what I mean - JOE SIX-PACK kinda guy. ARGH!!!!!! But, Biden came back to bring himself down to the everyman's position - from Wilmington, DE to Scranton, PA, and mentioning the everyman's favorite store - HOME DEPOT!! He could match point on point, even on the family values which she tried to corner as her own. He knows the single parent responsibilities and tragedies within a family - since she wanted to bring up her special needs child and son in Iraq - and brought out those valid points.

My big question - which we will never hear an answer to - Sarah Palin believes that there is more flexibility to the VP position and that is something that the McCain/Palin ticket will explore. Did I miss something? The Vice President's role is clearly spelled out in the Articles of the Constitution - to preside over the Senate, but only votes in the case of a tie, and advise the President. Now, maybe Dick Cheney has a different idea (golly gee, I think he did that), but it is not a practice that will be tolerated in the future, I'm sure.

There were way too many times when Palin could not answer the question and again changed the topic to one which she had notes. I will be waiting to see what all the other pundits have to say tomorrow...but CNN's poll has come in and it was Joe Biden favored 51% to Palin's 36%. 84% thought Biden did a better job than expected and the percentge was the same for Palin. I was more than impressed when Biden essentially said that use of the "maverick" towards McCain was no longer flying.

Do I think this debate helped McCain - probably. Not massively but maybe a small kick. McCain pulled out of Michigan today (he knows he can't beat Obama there) - and is now going to sink more effort into Maine. At this point in time, I want Obama to saturate Ohio with campaign stops, literature, whatever it takes - because we are truly a toss-up state.

We shall have to wait and see if the McCain militia will let Sarah fly on her own now. People will be making the minds up till the last minute (unfortunately some still undecided), and see how her future news interviews fare. Past experience hasn't been well for her spontaneous answers - so we shall all have to wait and see.

Now we will gear up for another Obama and McCain debate this coming Tuesday. Hell, before you know it - it will be November 4th!!! I shall return later - you betcha!

Mitt Romney Whisperer ... could it happen again???

Hmmmm................no cheating there....HA!!!

Do we not remember the debates in '04 - the suspicions that were raised about Bush "cheating" during the debate? This picture was enhanced by NASA scientist Robert Nelson, and he said at that time that the contraption (my words) was similar to the PTT (Push to Talk) receiver with an induction earpiece. This unit was widely used by news anchors and announcers.

I have this sneaky thought (call me paranoid) that Sarah Palin may have access to a similar device tonight. Maybe we should see how she is wearing her hair and look for a noticeable "bulge", similar to the Bush cheater! We shall see I guess.

Later and TTFN

This moose hunting, snow machine lover, not so smart woman will mee t with Joe Biden at 9 pm this evening - and I can't wait!

I have been reading what a super debaqter she really is - but all the video I have seen of these "terrific" debates - have not impressed me. She again, was not responsive to the subjects and read considerably from prepared notes. Maybe I am looking at things wrong.

I do not believe that a crash course in Politics and debate decorum can suffice. If the intent is to cram all this knowledge into her brain at one time - I think the process is doomed to fail. I would also hope that the McCain team did not specify the particular topic of the debate - in order to have her spot on - on the points. I guess we will know who handily won this confrontation by 11 pm.

***Just a note - I'm glad that Steve Fossett's aircraft has been located (although no remains), and how weird - the official search was called off one year ago today.

Maybe I will have something else to say in a little while...I've got the dishes done, laundry started and my bedroom dusted & vacuumed. Still more to do! Mother's work is never done. Grrrrrr......

It's Official...I am brain dead!!

I'm looking at my countdown clock to the election - and thinking the hours and minutes are off (I've set it to midnight on Election morning) and it starts driving me nuts. So I go back and try to reset....damn, same thing.

OK - I FORGOT THAT DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS THIS MONTH!!!! Argh...too much data on the chip...need new data chip in brain.

He honestly believes his lies....

I REMOVED THIS VIDEO - IT WAS MESSING UP THE BLOG SITE! SORRY

Sen. McQuack being interviewed by the Des Moines Register editorial staff recently, still acts so smug and superior. I am reaching the point where I can't even stand to look at his face.

What we should expect Thursday night....

I, for one, would like to hear from the real Sarah Palin - not the one who is spoon fed all her talking points and beauty pageant answers. If we look at the three interviews (Gibson, Hannity and Couric), she truly was not asked difficult questions. Some were so basic and they were rewarded with a slew of blather that made no sense whatsoever.

When asked by Couric, what reading material do you have or use to keep you apprised of what is going on in D.C.? She went on for 2 minutes, talking about Alaska being a microcosm of the United States (should have been world), and never, not once mentioned any publication. I am willing to bet that she doesn't get past Sports Illustrated or This Week in Moose, since news magazines escape her immediate thoughts. Let's see there is: Time, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, National Review - hell, she could have even mentioned the National Enquirer! But no, - I don't think she reads, period!!!!

My favorite Couric part was when she was elaborating on having a "best friend of 30 years" who is GAY - but she is NOT her gay friend!?!?!?!!? If you listen closely, she also states that "this friend" CHOSE to be gay. EXCUSE ME!!! And the dinosaurs roamed the earth with man 6000 years ago!
C'mon Sarah, show us a different you on Thursday night, show us you have a brain of your own and maybe even sport a new do..............

How's that for shits and giggles??? The new more modern Sarah Palin!!

Crappola, McCain is speaking more ignorant garbage - guess he is going to make himself the martyr of the Senate vote this evening. I would love to see how the pharmaceutical market is faring at the moment...surely more people are taking drugs in order to put up with his lies and bullshit.

Have to run and buy long pants for thegrandson...it got cool way to fast and he has such long legs - nothing works from last year. This should be fun, shopping with thedaughter...she is NOT a shopper anyway!

Why TUESDAY???? Good question...

I have often wondered about the story and formula for always voting on Tuesdays. I found this answer - and found it equally interesting.

Getting ready for physical therapy - which hasn't allowed any miracles yet, so I'll more than likely, be back later.

Have a good one till then.....
