to spout off about tonight. How cool is that? So I now have to root through the cobwebs of my mind just to come up with some inane thing that is either important or bugs the living shit out of me.

Let me see...OK - how about the big Toilet Paper (TP) debate.

I grew up in a household, which utilized method "A" - and for years I would get all pissy when someone would change the routine. After I met my husband, of course he was raised just the opposite - employing plan "B." So, for the past 30+ years we are an "over the top - to the front" family.

There is always a supply of toilet paper quite handy in the bathroom (unless I have become a complete hermit, and avoided the grocery store). Last week, one of my clients had the audacity, to ask to use my facilities. Usually, no one is here long enough for their bladders to overflow - so after a warning of "I haven't even cleaned in there yet," off he goes. While I was awaiting his return, it dawned on my pea size brain - toilet paper was LOW! When the gent returned to the table, he was laughing over the sign I have hanging from the TP holder. I have had this sign for many years, and I just know someone will swipe it someday - it always garners a chuckle.

"Changing the toilet paper roll - will not cause brain damage!"

Even though there were laughs all around - he still put the damn TP on backwards. I should certainly hope I don't have to supervise everyone who so desires to use my facilities, to ensure this does NOT happen in the future.




Did anyone see Mythbusters when they did their episode on "germs" getting on toothbrushes if they were too close to the toilet??? That made for ONE interesting show. (btw...the myth was busted!)

I'm taking a break to watch "House" and "24", since I worked quite hard today. Have a great one all and I will return....Later...............

Finally over - NO more debates....none needed...

My biggest concern throughout these 3 debates was WHAT THE HELL DOES MCFART WRITE ON THAT PAD OF HIS??? Well, a fellow blogger has the exclusive! I was rolling on the floor, after my curiosity was satisfied. I couldn't have made up anything this good.

I made sure that thegrandson was in bed and all chores completed so I could watch this final debate last night. I have to say, Tom Brokaw and Gwen Ifil could take some lessons on debate moderating from Bob Schieffer. He certainly didn't allow either candidate to go to far afield. When he asked the question about the nastiness of the campaign, I was highly surprised. But after the candidates started in with their opinions, I was enrapt. McDud just doesn't get it - he was expecting Obama to "repudiate" Cong. Lewis's statement - and if Obama did I would have been at Hofstra University in a flash to smack him in the head. The disclaimer put out by his campaign was sufficient. McCain wants to "spin" the remarks as relating to segregation and the bombings, yet he missed the message of "inciting violence." I loved it - Obama is fed up with the Bill Ayers connection and just as much called McC a liar, when he kept referencing the meeting in Ayers living room.

Just go anywhere on the Internet, check any news show and today all you see are the "winks, blinks, lizard tongue and sighs" of McCain. His decorum left so much to be desired.


Now to JOE THE PLUMBER. I thought that was a farce. McCrack was not in on that conversation, but took the ball and ran with it. But I have to say - if this gentleman is buying a plumbing shop - there is no way in hell, he is going to realize a taxable profit of $250,000 in the first year - let alone, probably, five years. There are far too many write-offs for small businesses and depreciation of tools and equipment - that's just not happening. McStinky has no clue about the tax structure - if he did he wouldn't be telling you that you are getting this $5000 health credit - then again I forgot - HE LIES!!!

McC is perpetually claiming that his campaign is being "wronged", yet has nothing to back that up. He's upset because of some hateful T-shirts being worn at Obama's rallies - but with all the freedoms we have, telling someone they can't wear their choice of clothing (as long as it isn't inciting violence or blatantly discriminatory) is a definite no-no. And John McCrap NEVER scolded his crowds until after being warned by his advisers. Yet, now he wants people to believe he has always taken this high road. Grrrr........

Now we just have to get through these next 19 days - to find out who are new President will be. I wonder if Sarah Palin will be flying back to Alaska on the 4th or just wait to get back to State business on the 5th????

Tomorrow marks the first anniversary of My best friend Jean's (Mom2) passing. I am not a person who goes to cemeteries, but my neighbor and I are going to her grave site tomorrow - just something I want to do. Her son's birthday is also tomorrow, but he lives in Columbus, OH and may be in this weekend, but I haven't heard for sure yet. I miss ya bunches Jean, we would be having so much fun with all that is going on - I hate that you are missing it all!!

'THAT ONE..." McCrack fukks it up again!!

I have already said that I believe Sarah Palin (working as a McCain hatchet person), has INCITED a racial undertone to this campaign. Now, during tonight's debate, McCain, thinking he is funny I guess, points to Obama, across his chest, and says with his smirk - "that one." Not funny, not smart, despicable.

For all the pundits who said McCain had to knock this one out of the ballpark - guess what??? IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!



I feel Obama was cooler, well spoken and informed, far superior to McCain. It was not a bombshell of a moment for Obama - but I feel, as the focus groups did, Obama won this debate.

I found it strange, not actually, but when health care was discussed, the women in the focus groups were much higher than the men. When the subject turned to defense or war - men carried the "high" line. That must be those "Joe Six-Packs!" Just kidding, I tried to explain to thedaughter (yes, she sat and watched and asked questions), men's perspective, as a rule is far different than women when it comes to defense and war. Women are thinking about the young men as sons and fathers firstly, for lack of a better way to explain.

So what do we have to look forward to tomorrow? Will Sarah Palin still be spewing her venomous lies? Angering the crowds towards Obama? She definitely scares me - as she should scare those who think she has the ability to EVER run this country!



MY VERY HUMBLE OPINION (sure) for tomorrow's debate conclusions: WIN FOR OBAMA! Not a huge win, but a win nonetheless. **Note: McCain didn't shake Obama's hand when offered at conclusion of this debate! Hmmm.....I'm shocked. {{Wink, Wink}}

Don't ya think Tim Russert would be rolling over????

I have been trying to compose myself, as the rage has intensified to unhealthy levels, within my body. I detest to all limits LIARS!!! And a liar who utilizes such tactics to get such negative responses - should burn in Hell. I am referring to the McStupid and Palgal's speeches from yesterday. Since they have chosen to connect Barack Obama to the radical beliefs of the 60's and 70's - the responses from the crowds (these are on the multiple video tapes) of "TERRORIST" - "KILL HIM" - and "TREASON" have been the result. This makes me very afraid. My personal opinion is that McAryan has been a racist for most of his life - Palin, I doubt, she's not smart enough to make the connection. But they have opened a can of worms and can never reseal that can. I have seen the people that this McC/Palin team have been appealing too, and it is frightful. The arguments I have managed to get into (now, aren't we shocked?) have been futile. I walk away wondering how some of these people have managed to survive in this world, for so long. Their perception of reality is totally whacked! Facts and truths mean absolutely nothing, I repeat nothing to these people.




Since, I did my first research paper in junior high school, I have loved to research everything. The majority of people that will be voting on November 4th, take what vitriol is put to them, as gospel and therefore, "my mind is made up now!" I am very glad that there are so many new, young voters - mostly from college campuses, and inquisitive enough to listen to ALL points. Hopefully, their decisions will be made with a deep concern for the future of this country and the avenues they decide to travel, be it business, education or corporate.

I do believe the I.R.S. needs to further scrutinize some issues on both McCain and Palin's returns. McCain has not claimed one penny in gambling winnings (and it is well known how he likes the crap tables) over the years. Granted he can deduct losses in proportion to his winnings, so why hasn't he? Hmmm... makes me wonder. A bigger issue though would be the $43,500 Palin's received for travel and lodging for First Dude and the kids. Nada, nil, nothing was claimed in that area. Although the McC camp released an opinion letter from a Washington, D.C. criminal tax attorney, saying they complied with Alaska law...there are opposing opinions from former I.R.S. lawyers, saying there is basically no wiggle room as to the $23,000 for the Palin kids - that is reportable and taxable. First Dude is a gray area, as a spouse, he is sometimes required (?) to be with his wife. FD's "snow machine" winnings being reported as a Sole Proprietor business may come under scrutiny also. He has written off more deductions - relating to what - 2 races at most a year. Nothing, in reality, will happen on these fronts till long after Nov. 4th I am sure.

WILL TONIGHT BE THE NIGHT???? Will McCain's blood pressure raise to level of making an ass of himself? Will Obama say just the "right thing" to drive him over the edge? I have no doubts that Obama can remain cool - but McCyanide does not have that kind of reputation. Will the Keating issue arise? Former Se. Dennis DeConcini said in an article yesterday, that he basically feels Obama should continue, as he felt and still feels that McCain got off way to easy in that scandal (I agree). Because McC was a member of the US House - the Senate concluded it had no jurisdiction to look into McC's travel and investments with Keating. DeConcini is not alone in that thought. When this was all over the news in early 90's, many people felt there was plenty being brushed under the rug, as it were.

He was in Kenya (sponsored by a Christian group) to promote this book, which definitely was not received well - what a dumb ass, Obama's father was a renowned Economist from Kenya, and there are still relatives there who think well of Obama. Such is life, I guess.

ANNOYED - ANNOYED!! Puh-leeze, give me a break. She is not engaged in a game of schoolyard marbles here - she is running for (gulp) Vice-President!! None of Katie Couric's questions were "gotcha" types - and I am sure had Palgal wanted to broach these other subjects she mentions - Couric would have gone along with the plan.

Now, this is my skeptical mind running rampant again, but does anyone else notice that the topics she mentions are the SAME TALKING POINTS she fell back on in the debate. Hello Sarah...I am not a moron!!! These talking points she wants to bring out are the exact same ones that have been "fact-checked" and proven wrong or distorted - yet repeated over and over but her fearless leader.

Curiosity killed the cat, so they say...but what do I care, my cat is a pain in the ass, but anyway - wonder if SP will make any of the Sunday news shows this weekend!! I say, why not, she has been brainwashed with all the pertinent right wing mistaken garbage - let it all out.

I also find it sad, that poor Sarah is "outside the Washington elite AND the media elite." Nobody will let poor wittle Sawah play wiv 'em! That was rather catty, I admit.

I may have to head to a shrink - this makes TWO references to FOX news in one day - this is a bad sign!

HOORAY IT'S FRIDAY! No biggie to me, just another day. :(

Well, she didn't stutter....but boy can she ramble on....

I have to say, I listened to every word and I mean EVERY word! First we have Sarah coming out, shaking Joe Biden's hand and asking if she can call him Joe - which near the end of the debate - I know why she asked that question. Her coaches gave her a sharp retort to use (if possible) and she found her opening to let out "Say it ain't so Joe, there ya go again!" We heard enough of the Alaskan folksy banter and a good deal of bad grammar, i.e. "we have not got...", now that hurt my eardrums.

My overall judgement of this debate is that it wasn't boring by any means. I knew that Palin would come out, self assured and present herself well. She had her cheat sheet with her, the one that contained all the pertinent talking points, and tried her best to utilize them as best she could. But Biden showed exemplary knowledge and this was one of his better debates.

When both candidates were asked "what programs would you cut due to the change in economic atmosphere" (i'm paraphrasing) - Biden was immediate and upfront with the programs that would be affected - yet Palin could not name anything and again, relied on her "Wall Street corruption & greed" line, or her energy stance.

Biden detailed the Obama/Biden Iraq exit strategies and Palin could not elaborate but again back to Wall Street and energy, of course that was after she told "Joe" that he was "waving the white flag of surrender" in his affirmations. (Again, a talking point directly from her cheat sheet.)

I think, that Palin knew she had to come out on this stage and try her best to repair her intensely damaged image. I honestly do not believe she achieved that goal with the masses. People, by and large, can tell the difference between scripted and rehearsed lines as opposed to spontaneous. She shuffled her papers to get to her tag lines for the applicable questions. I have to admit, I am sick of her smiling smirk - for lack of a better description.

When Joe Biden was detailing the comments by General McKiernan today, and how the General made the statement that an Iraqi type "surge" would not work in Afghanistan - she came back at Biden, saying he was wrong that Gen. McClellan (she got the name wrong twice) did not say that - well, excuse me - YES HE DID!! Joe Biden could have corrected her, but held his tongue.

Her fall back line was that she wasn't a Washington person, just an outsider, you know what I mean - JOE SIX-PACK kinda guy. ARGH!!!!!! But, Biden came back to bring himself down to the everyman's position - from Wilmington, DE to Scranton, PA, and mentioning the everyman's favorite store - HOME DEPOT!! He could match point on point, even on the family values which she tried to corner as her own. He knows the single parent responsibilities and tragedies within a family - since she wanted to bring up her special needs child and son in Iraq - and brought out those valid points.

My big question - which we will never hear an answer to - Sarah Palin believes that there is more flexibility to the VP position and that is something that the McCain/Palin ticket will explore. Did I miss something? The Vice President's role is clearly spelled out in the Articles of the Constitution - to preside over the Senate, but only votes in the case of a tie, and advise the President. Now, maybe Dick Cheney has a different idea (golly gee, I think he did that), but it is not a practice that will be tolerated in the future, I'm sure.

There were way too many times when Palin could not answer the question and again changed the topic to one which she had notes. I will be waiting to see what all the other pundits have to say tomorrow...but CNN's poll has come in and it was Joe Biden favored 51% to Palin's 36%. 84% thought Biden did a better job than expected and the percentge was the same for Palin. I was more than impressed when Biden essentially said that use of the "maverick" towards McCain was no longer flying.

Do I think this debate helped McCain - probably. Not massively but maybe a small kick. McCain pulled out of Michigan today (he knows he can't beat Obama there) - and is now going to sink more effort into Maine. At this point in time, I want Obama to saturate Ohio with campaign stops, literature, whatever it takes - because we are truly a toss-up state.

We shall have to wait and see if the McCain militia will let Sarah fly on her own now. People will be making the minds up till the last minute (unfortunately some still undecided), and see how her future news interviews fare. Past experience hasn't been well for her spontaneous answers - so we shall all have to wait and see.

Now we will gear up for another Obama and McCain debate this coming Tuesday. Hell, before you know it - it will be November 4th!!! I shall return later - you betcha!

She will be in spotlight tonight....I can't wait!

This moose hunting, snow machine lover, not so smart woman will mee t with Joe Biden at 9 pm this evening - and I can't wait!

I have been reading what a super debaqter she really is - but all the video I have seen of these "terrific" debates - have not impressed me. She again, was not responsive to the subjects and read considerably from prepared notes. Maybe I am looking at things wrong.

I do not believe that a crash course in Politics and debate decorum can suffice. If the intent is to cram all this knowledge into her brain at one time - I think the process is doomed to fail. I would also hope that the McCain team did not specify the particular topic of the debate - in order to have her spot on - on the points. I guess we will know who handily won this confrontation by 11 pm.

***Just a note - I'm glad that Steve Fossett's aircraft has been located (although no remains), and how weird - the official search was called off one year ago today.

Maybe I will have something else to say in a little while...I've got the dishes done, laundry started and my bedroom dusted & vacuumed. Still more to do! Mother's work is never done. Grrrrrr......

It's another day...same old shite!!!

I have to laugh at times - at times mind you....that John McFart is always cleaning up Sarah Palin's messes. Watching him take over the Katie Couric interview, and having Sarah say the same thing about Pakistan...and McClueless turns it into a GOTCHA mad journalist moment!! Again, trying to turn the tables.



I HONESTLY FEEL THAT SOMEONE NEEDS TO PUNCH ME IN THE HEAD!!! NO ZAC - you are too far away!!!

My mind does not stop, for example, last night - no one in this house wanted to be around me - calling me grumpy and nasty - the funny part is the blame is going to my computer, politics (and my opinion) and the lack of Diet Dr. Pepper. What a conundrum!!! After getting thegrandson to bed and asleep, I decided to play remote roulette, between CSI Miami and of course, the Steeler-Ravens football game. The entire time I am flip flopping from one end of the bed to the other - my mind will NOT shut down. At 1 am, I finally come back out and get on the computer to see if there are any updates of any kind - hell, all I am getting is that the foreign markets are taking a nose dive and the 2 bank failures in Great Britain. SO I TRULY DON'T KNOW WHY MY FAMILY IS UPSET WITH ME!!!

Damn, I don't have time for all their problems - back to matters at hand! The Palin/Biden debate on Thursday night. I have been totally stupefied by the critiquing from the conservative media, towards Palin. The general attitude seems to advise SP to bail now - don't embarrass yourself any further.

Is it me or am I paranoid - how McBush has totally taken over the media spin from every angle? However SP presents herself in this debate (intelligent or brain dead), this will define her for the remaining days of this campaign. Surely, McWitless understands that premise...then again...with all the lies he has perpetuated, and the same old talking points - he definitely DOESN'T GET IT!!

But here is what SP's advisory council over the next few days looks like:

1. Her husband (First Dude) and children
2. Steve Beigun, former staff member of Bush's National Security Council
3. Randy Scheunemann (and I thought my last name was tough) McCrinkle's chief foreign policy aide
4. Mark Wallace, deputy campaign mgr. for Bush's '04 re-election campaign
5. Ms. Wallace, who was communications director in Bush White House

I would love to be a fly on the wall at Dan Quayle's house. I can hear him now, "Hey Marilyn...check out the new bimbo, makes me sound like a genius!" I hate to say it, but Quayle was wonderful for a laugh or two - and you were never sure what was going to come out of his mouth - but he had a better grip on politics than SP.

Next debate format....Town Hall forum...

So far, all I am hearing is that John McCain is the "Master of the Town Hall" format discussions. I don't see it, because I have seen him stumble and blather, much the same as last Friday's debate. The man cannot stay on point, and we know he cannot look his opponent in the face either.

As to the Friday debate, Steve Schmidt, a McCain aide said on a Sunday program with George Stephanopoulas:

"When Sen. McCain came back to Washington, there had been no deal
reached. What Sen. McCain was able to do was to help bring all the parties
to the table, including the House Republicans, he came back and he listened and
he helped put together the framework of getting everybody to the table which was
essential in getting the package [together]."

And McCain has said:

"Whether I helped or hurt, I'll be glad to accept the judgement of history, but I'm never going to not get engaged when the taxpayers and middle-class of America are in danger of losing everything literally that they have worked all their lives for."

I won't (ha) address the fact he ended the sentence with a preposition for now! But having watched many different news channels, the consensus I heard was - McCain did nothing in the progression of negotiations. Sen. Chris Dodd and Sen. Chuck Schumer, said he caused more problems, by bringing the paparazzi to Capital Hill for his photo-op. If anything, McCain's presence was passive at best and according to some it was a detrimental role.

Apparently, the negotiations were not foremost in his thoughts, as he and his wife, Sen. Joe Lieberman and his wife Hadassah, were dining at the opulent Cafe Moye in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington late Saturday evening.

NO - he was not part of the negotiations - he was NOT valiantly battling the forces of the status quo to get something done for Main Street.



Yes, we need TEAMWORK from the Democratic party to take back our country!!!

OK - let's talk DEBATE....

I have watched video from so many sources, but found that this FOX clip (and it doesn't include {{gulp}} Hannity), was fairly representative of all the analysis I reviewed.

To be honest, I was not knocked out of my seat by this debate - but I do feel that Obama showed more confidence and forcefulness. He looked directly at McCain when making his statements and/or accusations, and was very articulate as usual. Whereas, McCain, when noticeably in disagreement put on this smarmy smirk - but managed to muddy the waters when arguing his counterpoint. McCain never once, NOT ONCE, looked at Obama. I don't think there is any secret of McCains intense dislike for Obama. I want to see that infamous McCain temper released to the point he might just say ONE word (you know what it is) that will knock him out of the playing field. **Obama needs to bring up the secrecy of McCain NOT fighting for the POW/MIA's he conveniently forgot were left behind.

I am so very past the same platitudes of McCain, the references to his war service, his claims to Obama that "he doesn't get it", and personal quips about meeting so and so and wearing his bracelet. These are not what the masses need to hear at this moment. We want details and specifics.

Did anyone notice that McCain was spewing the same LIES (that have all been checked), and repeating them over and over for the gullible. He made several mistakes, the biggest was referencing Pakistan as a "failed state" before Musharraf became President. McCain also must be avoiding news of his VP pick and her meeting with Henry Kissinger, because Kissinger did indeed say that he would have a sit-down with foreign leaders (Iran, Syria)...and yes pre-conditions would be ensured no matter who would be involved. Essentially, McCain could only repeat his tag lines from all the speeches he has been giving and the words all seem so vacuous and lame, at this point in time. We all know he had no input into the negotiations of this massive bailout - if anything, he caused more of a delay.

I think Obama did well, but could do even better in the future. He needs to rattle McCain's cage. People need to see the temper of this man (McCain) and how volatile he can be. At this point we also know that McCain cannot multi-task.

I would like (in a perfect world) for both to ANSWER THE QUESTION they are presented. That is my biggest gripe, as the first question of the evening was hedged by both parties.




Now I have to prepare myself for the disastrous debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, this coming Thursday evening. Even McCain aides are worried - as the clips of her interviews are all proving quite unsettling. I have heard that we "may be surprised", because this is one smart woman - c'mon, she has been out there for a month - WTF!! The McMudgeon camp has kept her to a stringent, select schedule, with very tight controls. Let's see if "the powers that be" in the McFool camp try to manipulate a cancellation or possible rescheduling of this debate - I would not be surprised.

Have a good day all - I'm thinking (mind you , only thinking) about doing laundry, running the sweeper - but that could all change in a flash. TTFN!

Call me a skeptic.....

With all of the bullshit of the day - where do we stand? I haven't got a damn clue!! Now, like I said, I am being quite skeptical here...my scenario is as follows: Earlier today, the Democrats stated that they had a proposal to present on this bailout...the Republicans were fairly optimistic early in the day, then McCain entered on Capital Hill. My how things change. He politely turned down reporters questions as he strolled down the Congressional corridors (with the SS swatting people out of the way), no photo op here or trying to manipulate the process. Then a sit down meeting with Bush, Pelosi, Paulson, Bernanke, Reid, and our next President - Barack Obama. A few other representatives were in attendance as well. Now, the general concesus is - no proposal yet!

Here is my theory - John McCain manipulated the game yesterday with his announcement that "I am suspending my campaign" and possibly the debate, because of course, it is vital that he be in Washington during these dire times. I am thinking, oh my strange mind, that through his connections in the Senate (Joe Liberman, etal) he has arranged for a prolonged discussion on this proposal - long enough to carry through the scheduled time of Friday's debate in Mississippi. His suggestion has already been submitted - that if this debate is cancelled - move this Presidential debate to Oct. 2nd, thus eliminating the VP debate entirely. Oh my God!!! I just know I am going to have another heart attack.

McCain has NOT suspended his campaign at all, all HQ's were still carrying on as usual. TV ads are still airing - the only suspension is McBush avoiding any rallies, TV interviews or candid spots.

Having seen Sarah Palin's interview with Katie Couric finally - I can only think that Katie left that interview and downed a bottle of Excedrin. If it were me - I would have found something much stronger - I'd have to call Cindi McCain for drugs. Forgive me, but that woman (Palin) cannot answer any question succinctly - everything is a canned answer, and someone forgot to tell her that there are NO stock answers for all questions. I know she is not ignorant - but she is coming across that way.


I doubt seriously if any more progress will be made this evening. Barack Obama stated earlier that he is heading to Mississippi for the debate. I should certainly hope that McIgnorant shows also, if not, let him then explain to the country what he was doing in Washington (as he is not on the Banking Committee), and no proposal has been offered. Squirm worm!!! Better go, my evil side is starting to emerge.

I said it before - be afraid.....

Now are we supposed to be sucked into the "aw shucks" demeanor that this woman exudes? I think not. She no more has a clue of what is going on in the world other than what she is spoon fed. Because of this - I am afraid. Afraid of the people who have been enamored to this team - a team destined to continue the mistakes of the past, leading us into ruin.

Presidential debate...you bet - I want to see it Friday night, no excuses! We want to see who can multi-task this countries problems - to think you have to drop everything (campaign and debate) to rush back to Washington, does not bode well on one's abilities. Goodnight!

can you spell M*A*N*I*P*U*L*A*T*I*O*N ???......

OK I've had enough of McCain - here he is making an announcement that he is "suspending" his campaign and wants to delay the debates for Friday, so he can head back to Warshington (how he pronounces it) and settle this economic crises. He also encourages Barack Obama to do the same. Someone, somewhere is masterminding this strange action and to what end? Obama apparently contacted McCain early this morning to the possibility of submitting a joint statement on the economic bailout - and then McCain comes up with this idea. McCain, the King of Deregulation, the main catalyst for this crisis....wants to go back to D.C. to fix it - NO,NO,NO,NO,NO!!!! I say keep him as far away from Washington till absolutely necessary. Considering the Republican party has been putting so much distance between themselves and Bush/Cheney this week, I honestly cannot believe that McCain carries that much clout any longer.

Oh, lest I forget, he also wants to DELAY THE DEBATE, scheduled for Friday. Call me a pessimist, but watching McCain over the past 3 days alone, his tone and attitude have become more somber. Could he be running scared? Could he be totally unprepared for a debate? Sen. Lyndsay Graham is running himself ragged trying to get ahold of the Obama team to agree to such a delay...in my lowly, humble opinion, I would never agree to such a delay.

The only problem I have with this bailout proposal (from Paulson and Bernanke) is that they want a $700 billion dollar bailout carte blanche. No strings, no oversight, and very few questions being truly answered.

NOW IS THE TIME for a debate between these two men who want to govern our country. We don't want to see them amongst their cronies in Washington, arguing this or that merit of various proposals. I want to see who can hold their own - because one of them will eventually be at the helm.

McCain wanting to go back to Washington would essentially distract from the business at hand and be just another photo-op, which is all McCain has left to him.

My anger is boiling to the top - the rhetoric and lies are over the top. Later.

Earmarks??? This may vary

by definition. This is one area that upsets me at times - depending on what the money requested is designated towards. Face it folks, earmarks are a much necessary evil. If we in "small towns" around the country had to come up with all the dollars necessary to upgrade our sewage treatment plants, major improvements to hospitals, and many huge projects we take for granted - they would never be done. It is the items "tacked" on for personal, stupid requests that need to be halted, i.e., the bridge to nowhere. But when appropriation time rolls around, that is when all the Senators receive requests from their constituents of their NEEDS. There is never a guarantee of approval, but if these monies were not requested for appropriation - every town would literally become a ghost town.

I suppose the alternative would be to increase property taxes, up any local income tax, add a wage tax...but we are TAXED to hell and back now. Realistically, these projects would still remain unfunded.

The "earmarks" of Obama which McCain is referring to can be found here. This is quite a list, but please, see what projects the requests are for. As a note, my understanding (and if anyone has the answer) is that hardly any of these earmarks were approved. But certainly 90% of the requested funds I find quite legitimate.

John McCain has been making the same comment repeatedly "in 24 years I have not had one single earmark." Excuse me, let's go back to 1992 first, John McCain had no qualms with this request. I have the links to more, but need to check them out first. Face it - it is a matter of definition as to what constitutes an earmark. Some Washington agencies state that an earmark is a project worth more than $52 million. So would that mean that a project under that figure would NOT be an earmark - guess so!

This is the semantics game underway. In the whole scheme of things, I want to see the bottom line on Health care plans, tax structure, employment. I have a feeling these facts will be coming soon from at least one camp - one has to wait and see.



My suggestion to Sarah Palin, QUIT REPEATING the same old things. I don't want to hear about that damn bridge, the Ebay plane sale (ha) and how you stood up to Big Oil. The facts are proving her wrong on so many fronts. October 2nd - she will debate Joe Biden - I plan on being glued to the TV for that one.

Oh well, must read more...must read more...must read more!!! I may be brain damaged by Nov. 4th at this rate.
