MOVIE BEING FILMED HERE.........

Denzel Washington will be here in our town for two and a half weeks, the first of Novemeber to film parts of UNSTOPPABLE.

For shits and giggles, thedaughter and I went and signed up as extras this afternoon. Supposedly they need 500-700 extras, and from the large stacks of papers, I'm sure they will have no problem. Pretty much, residents of Bellaire have first opportunity at the spots.

I will try to post more on this later, with pics of the railroad tracks and pipe yard, being utilized for these dramatic scenes. We have a unique arched train trestle structure here, which hasn't been used for years, but it is an historic architectural structure.

I will let everyone know more - if we re selected to be in the background.

Later.......

DON'T FORGET TO STOP BY: PAST THE VELVET ROPE (FRIDAY POSTINGS)

I was an extra in Box Of Moonlight. You'll find it's a little bit fun and a lot of boring when and if you do get cast. Best wishes on that and get well soon.

Two things:
1. I am soooooooooooo jealous. I hope you're in and that you have lots of excitement. (That is one of my goals.....)
2. You're using my tagline!!!!!! (I'm flattered...!)

The good doctor is right, being an extra is incredibly boring. Bring a good book, and hope they have good craft services.

And will you remember us when you have been discovered and are a star? :-)

I did that once when I was living in L.A. Dr. Monkey and Kirby are correct, spent a lot of time just waiting, and waiting and waiting. Don't let that discourage you though, just watching the mechanics of it all will make it worth your while. And, I don't know about this one, but the one I was on paid very well for 8 hours of basically doing nothing.

These days, I list my "occupation" as "Background Artiste." In the past 7 years, I have been in about 20 different films and tv series...

They should pay you, but they might not, depending. They should also feed you. If you go over 8 hours, they should feed you twice.

Being an extra is a lot like being a soldier: lots of hurry-up and wait. But it's interesting to watch the process. And to learn the vocabulary.
