It's late....what to write?????

Friday, February 06, 2009
Our Senators (other side) are asshats!!!
All the alerts went out -- "Senate reaches agreement on Stimulus Package - Vote tonight." So I go to C-SPAN and I am still listening to these ridiculous arguments from the Republicans - and I have to say John McCain was more creative in his figures than most. He would make a great accountant - NOT!
A bipartisan committee met and made over $100 billion in cuts to the initial proposal, and McCain, Martinez, Graham, McConnell and other repukes are spouting off such things as:
"This money will be hard pressed to make it to the state level within two years."
"I call this a generational theft bill."
"There is no oversight of monies included here."
Blah, blah, blah, blah!!!
Let's see, they followed Bush in allowing the first release of TARP funds ($350 billion) with NO oversight whatsoever - and look how that ended. I have a hard time even listening to any Repub argument on this matter, after they essentially allowed this catastrophe to develop.
John McCain is now stating that the Dems are saying "we won the election so we will write the bill" - which makes me want to jump thru that TV screen and strangle that growth on his face! Tell me what good came of the Bush administration and their six years of total reign! The republican party carries no credence with me at this point in time, after ruining the economy and allowing Bush free rein to do as he pleased. Talk about a sore loser.
ARGHH!!! I'm pissed. Then we have the cap on CEO pays that Obama proposes.

I do not have a problem with such a cap. When big businesses come on bended knee to the government and beg to be bailed out of the situations - which they created - then yes, they should have to follow NEW rules.
Tell me the difference between a CEO receiving government money in order to survive and a welfare recipient. In the mid 90's the government initiated much more stringent rules on those receiving welfare. Random drug testing can also be done if receiving Sec. 8 housing, mandatory hours must be worked and documented in order to receive certain benefits, i.e., food stamps and medicaid. So I say - as well as placing a cap on the CEO bonuses - these people should be subjected to other mandatory government rules. I would expect to have all these people sign in and out of work (punch a time clock if you will) and mandate at least a 40 hour work week, no paid lunches, random drug tests would not hurt either.
I see no difference between these two stations in life. Many say - the government should not be running these businesses - well - they shouldn't have let their businesses run into the ground. Sen. Bob Bennett (R-UT) after hearing this proposal stated "you run the risk of having a brain drain at the bank, of their top talent!" Excuse me...would that be the same "brain(s)" that caused these problems, yet still accepted TARP monies and paid out more bonuses??? Get a grip Senator.
I can see now that a vote will not be forthcoming tonight - and I am very tired. This is not a very organized rant..but what the hell. Have a good evening and great weekend, if you don't get back here.
Later.................
The BOX has finally arrived....3 months later....
After conversing with the shipping company in New York last week, arrangements were made to get this LARGE box shipped to the house. Money was mailed and verifications made. After being assured the delivery was being made in a 25 foot box truck by the NY company - all I had to do was await word from the local trucking company, as to specifics of date and time for arrival. Hell, then we had the hassle of a semi trailer - and the weather and omg - I wanted to shoot someone.
But today - a smaller truck located - the package arrived and all is safely within the confines of the house.

Now I am armed with scissors and utility knives to break the box open - as it contains multiple, individual boxes - but I encounter two 1 1/2" wide metal straps encasing the behemoth. Grrr...well, one of the guys is smarter than me and used pliers to twist and break the strapping.
The second picture shows ALL the individual EMPTY boxes that were used as packing material. The fun part came when I had to break down all the boxes. That job is now complete and all the packing material is in the back of theson's truck awaiting a trip to the recycling center and landfill. Whew...I'm so glad this task is complete and very thankful for the assistance from our friends.
I have some smaller boxes I now have to open and go through, as theson purchased a boomerang for thegrandson, on his Australian vacation. The little snot will be so excited when he gets home from school this afternoon.
So there son - you can see that your stuff is finally here. Gotta run, things to do...I shall return...later...............

I knew she was a con-artist...octuplets "mom"...

I guess we will have to wait and see how she decides to bilk the industries more, in order to support her new brood plus the other six children (and parents) in the home. I also think the public was mislead on her parents...I was under the impression that they lived with her as a couple and owned two other homes (lost thru bankruptcy) as husband and wife. I t appears they have been divorced since 1999.
This may be one puzzle that will never be solved.
Later.............
HOW DUMB DO THEY THINK I AM????
I honestly cannot understand how the Algoreinternet...cannot just stop these intrusive type of mailings to be sent. Damn, those Nigerians are desperate people I guess. But thankfully, I did not just fall off the turnip truck.
Thedaughter gets offers in the mail for various credit cards and gets excited...I have to explain the necessity of reading the MICRO print to ensure she tears the damn thing into little pieces and tosses it in the garbage.
Does anyone else get inundated with these stupid emails? Hopefully it is not just me! If you have never received one - here is a prime example of what I have to discard daily. I've highlighted a few grammatical errors for shits and giggles.

Woohoo....Chick-fight!!!!

Let the fights begin. Ashley Judd was in a video released yesterday, I believe - for preserving the wildlife against "psychotic" hunters like Palin.
Remember the argument of "shooting wolves from airplanes" that surfaced during the campaign? Yep, that is definitely part of the problem. This video (seen below) is for the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund - and I believe Ms. Judd states the concerns quite succinctly.
If you read the article, Palin states that those "funding this ad are an extreme fringe group." Is her head so far up her ass - she cannot see daylight? Don't answer that - of course it is!!!
Goofy Palin also states that Alaskans "depend on wildlife for food and 'cultural' practices"....wtf is that??? Cultural practices does not suggest a life sustaining meal to me. I envision voodoo dolls, tribal rituals and such.
I am an animal lover, but I also understand the need to hunt...here in the Ohio Valley, deer hunting is a necessity and the majority are utilizing the meat for sustenance. If there was no deer hunting season, we would be over-run by these animals. I do not believe in inhumane traps or the aerial shooting of these wolves.
I would love to see Judd and Palin duke this one out. Palin cannot talk her way out of a paper bag, much less adequately defend this practice. I hate to say this, but I give her credit for mastering the art of the SPIN - she learned well for those 3 high profile months.
Check this out over at Mudflats...my perspective is not far off base here.
Back to some tax returns...Later...............
HEY FREIDA BEE - I get a message that says I'm not allowed to view your blog - wuzzup with that?

This is toooo cool. We built this house in 1957 - and I was just fooling around with Google maps. I lived here till I left home in 1971.
Later............ ****If it doesn't show up...hit View Larger map - let me know if that works.
Is there a RIGHT answer here????
Yes, I know I blogged about this previously, but the subject just will not go away. How could it? This woman is 33 years old with six children already in the home (under the age of 7) and she cannot handle them without the assistance of her parents. Parents I might add, who have voluntarily aided their daughter financially to the point of personal ruin. The mother has made the statement in the past, that she would not be in the home, when the daughter and eight newborns return from the hospital.
Certainly, this woman did not expect her parents for total assistance, both physically and financially - to continue their support. I do believe that the psychiatrist in the video is correct...this woman is delusional.
I'm not shocked to hear the press report that she has hired a publicist and is hoping for multi-million deals, of one type or another. She has also stated she expects to nab a "reality" show deal - as to parenting. Not on your life crazy, warped in the head, lady...I would give no credence to this woman in regards to "parenting" issues.
Parenting is far removed from pregnancy. Anyone, animal or human can get pregnant (excuse me to those women who have fertility issues), but that is NO guarantee of good parenting. How can this woman BOND with eight newborns? Bonding is so vitally important in the nurturing stages of life - and there is no way, one person can spread themselves that thin.
Considering California is letting $3.8 billion in bills go unpaid...how will California be able to support this woman and her brood...and why should they? Had this been a married woman, who was struggling to get pregnant, I might have a different opinion. But then again, ethically, doctors should do everything humanly possible to make sure that a multiple pregnancy does not produce a "litter." For those who might argue "abortion vs. selective reduction" - there is no argument. And I refuse to listen to "God's plan was for so many babies." God, did not implant multiple embryos - this is human intervention. But I will not get into that argument here.
Should this woman get these financial deals...I say shame on those who would watch such a reality show and support her mission. this woman, without a doubt, needs professional help, and I mean her mental issues. I feel sorry for these infants in a way - for the lack of attention they may face and possibly physical issues also. I believe I also read that one of her six previous children is autistic. Will that child also suffer, from the lack of attention he/she may need?
I'm angered, frustrated and downright mad over this situation - can ya tell? Just allow me to vent a little and I will try to behave....later.
As much as I would hate to see these eight babies split up, I honestly believe they may thrive better in homes capable of overseeing their needs. Too many women would love to have the opportunity to be a mother, and unfortunately cannot afford the procedures necessary to fulfill that desire. Just a consideration.

Our water situation was rectified and we were notified that we could again resume water usage around 3 pm yesterday. The EPA is continuing their investigation into the causes and overall effects from yesterdays water incident. I assure you, there is enough blame to go around here. Some people are already talking lawsuits - they need to get a life. No one was injured, the village staff did their jobs well and followed all mandated procedures. I still have a problem with their notification procedures, but that will be dealt with later.

Tax season has begun and I have quite a few returns to start, so I shall return later................

NO WATER USAGE....wtf is going on????

But I digress...now I have to find out wtf is going on with the water situation. This is the department I was head of for five years - and I'm not seeing any "informative" messages on the TV, other than the prior mentioned phone call.
This is not a minor situation...apparently sometime over the weekend, the chemicals used at the water treatment plant were either mislabeled or mishandled, but HYDROCHLORIC ACID was entered into the water system. The alert is telling people NO WATER USAGE at all, till further notice.
After receiving as much information as possible, I started calling people, who I know have no children in the school system, and do not watch TV in the mornings to alert them to the problem, and encourage them to call others who may not have access to this info.
I finally get hold of a friend in the City Building and tell them to have the mayor call me, as I am livid. With an issue such as this - the water service should have been shut down, turned off completely, till resolved. We have four water tanks holding thousands of gallons of water throughout the town, that now need to be emptied and flushed, this will definitely take a great portion of the day. Businesses are affected, restaurants will have to close (cannot cook or wash dishes), many situations to be dealt with here. The EPA is on its way here - and this will be a financial kick in the ass to this poor village. The hospital, doctor's offices will not be able to function at optimum levels either.
I just do not understand the dragging of feet here. Water buffaloes need to be brought in to service the residents - and no arrangements have been made in that area either.
I can see now, I am going to have to scream a little louder and force some issues. I basically am worried about the elderly, which comprise approximately 45% of our residents.
Oh hell, I need to go make some more calls...I will return later..............

My BP is thru the ROOF......STEELERS RULE!!

As much as I love football...I may have to stick with watching tennis for awhile. I have to say, I was over confident up until the 4th quarter. When Arizona started scoring again...I almost peed my pants!! (Sorry son..that's life.)
My dog must have thought someone was attacking me, I was screaming so loud - she kept jumping up on me and barking!!!!
I'm hoping Harrison gets MVP for his 100 yard (intercepted) touchdown run, but looks like Santonio Holmes will be the one. I just knew some of you were dying to know all this info. And thanks for the Canadian kicker, David.
Now, I have to find out when the downtown Pittsburgh parade will be...I may have to make a day trip to SIX*BURGH!!!
RECORDS SET THIS YEAR:
1. Youngest coach to win SB - Mike Tomlin, 36
2. Longest touchdown run in SB history
3. SIXTH SB win!!!!

Night-night....I'm exhausted. Later.................
TODAY IS THE DAY....We are football here at Steeler Central...

The grandson has his tattoos affixed and lighted chapeau on...ready for his picture to be taken. No matter, that the game doesn't start for another 4 hours. I had some left-over tattoos (rub on kind) and took them over to my next door neighbor. He spent so much time erecting a sign, building a snowman - even spray painting the darn thing - and of all days the temps are in the mid 40's and Steeler Snowman is slowly MELTING!!! With the yellow painted bottom to the snowman, I felt the need to tell him to "avoid eating the yellow snow!"

So we are partying here - the two of us. I have a veggie tray, fixing sausage dip and for dinner we are having carnival hot dogs, tater tots and milkshakes. What more could a person ask? I've already warned the neighbor not to call 911, if he hears extreme yelling coming from my house - I have a tendency to become quite overt.
Things to do and prep, so catch ya...later..............

GOOD GRIEF...give me a break......

In saying that Obama shows a complete lack of respect for the Office of President and the Oval office - I find stupid if not moronic.
OK, Bush made a rule, that suits and ties were to be worn at all times in the Oval office, big whoop - now explain to me how, what a person may be wearing will affect any decisions being made in one particular "office."
In my humble opinion, President Obama makes a much better connection with "the people" in his down to earth appearance and demeanor. I also have not seen anything phony in this representation.
I have never been a fan of seeing a man with a chokingly tight collar and tie. Now throw in unbearably hot weather - and I see a man in a business suit and tie - I want to say "go home and get your polo shirt on and chill."
I care more for what a person has to say and contribute than what "they are wearing." Men have much fewer options in "dressing up" than a woman. A suit, is a suit, is a suit - only the color changes. How boring is that? Whereas, a woman has a variety of styles and colors to choose from.
Nope, nope, nope...I am quite happy with Obama's approach - in his office, to the people and his family. He has quashed the "Hail to the Chief" being played at every drop of the hat, and his press conference began with no announcement such as "Ladies and gentlemen, the POTUS!"
Michelle Obama has also announced to the household staff that they need not dress so fancy 24/7. She even said there may be times when she would like the staff to join her and the girls for a movie. I say, SUPER.
We are not a monarchy - and I believe that the Obama's would like to keep some normalcy in their lives and remain just "people." How cool is that? Of course, I understand that the blue-nosed, Washington snobs are all in a tizzy over these "acts of defiance" but my message to them....GET OVER IT!!!
Is Obama going to show up in grunge wear...I think not. But I definitely believe business casual may become more common over the next
Just a thought here...I also believe a man may think more clearly when blood flow to the brain is unrestricted by a damn TIE.
Okie dokie...enough for tonight. My neighbor has erected a huge STEELER NATION sign in their yard for tomorrow, and hopes to get a picture with as many supporters as possible. So I will definitely be trudging through the snow to be captured for posterity.
I must get a good nights rest for tomorrows events. Take care and I'll be back later................
Friday, January 30, 2009
I say "hang 'em all!"...........
There appears to be quite a few unanswered questions, as you can read here, that Cuomo intends to receive answers. I'm with Obama on this one..."shameless".
Ahhhhh...the memories....
I just got a call to a Super Bowl party, actually from someone who's parties I attended for several years...but alas, I probably won't make it there. I am now getting super hyped - can ya tell?
I'm sure there are some old folk out there who remember this play from the '70's...quite memorable.
TTFN, I shall return later............
Happiness turns to controversy....
But now more information is coming to light, which makes me ponder the situation as maybe NOT so great. This woman has SIX other children in the home, comprised of one set of twins and ranging in ages from 2 to 7. Now, this is a family with 14 children under the age of 7. What is wrong with this picture?
Apparently, she was given a choice of selective reduction, once the number of fetuses was revealed (originally thought to be seven). A procedure which was refused. With the economy being such as it is, even bringing a child into the world at the moment gives one pause, as to the expenses involved in rearing a child - much less 14. Was this couple hoping for an immediate television deal, such as the couple who just delivered their umpteenth child? Was this couple thinking that the sympathetic neighbors and friends would donate all the necessities, i.e., diapers, bottles, formula, etc.?
Apparently the husband is headed back to Iraq, as he is a contractor, and says he needs to get back to work to support his family. I'm not sure that even he can make enough money to support a brood this large. CORRECTION: The grandfather is headed to Iraq...this woman is unmarried.
I also have ethical questions. 1. What fertility clinic would avail themselves to this couple if they honestly knew that there were already six children in the home, all very young? All IVF clinics offer psychiatric counselling to gauge suitability of parents to handle multiple births. 2. How honest was this woman, since she supposedly filed for bankruptcy last year - where did the money come from for IVF treatments (and they aren't cheap)? ***There has never been a documented case of naturally conceived octuplets.
I would imagine that a lot more information will be revealed in the near future, but I would hope that this family does not end up being supported by the government, in some sort of bizarre ruse they were hoping to fulfill.
I would also hope that this woman and supposedly a husband - can physically meet the demands of 8 premature infants plus the remaining six children. The house that this woman and her children are living in, is owned by her parents, and in a cul-de-sac of three bedroom homes. This could be interesting.
I will be waiting to see how this story evolves. Curiosity killed the cat, you know!
Thedaughter is trying to get (drive) to the grocery store, but the weather is frightful. We have gotten four inches of snow since I got up early this morning - and that is on top of two inches of ice. This is when I regret trading in my 4WD.
At 7:30 am in morning...someone pissing me off!!!!
I just got a call from the trucking company hired to deliver and the news is not good. When I spoke to the gentleman who handled this delivery as it entered the U.S., he said it would be delivered on a 25 foot truck and a small bribe would probably ensure some help in getting the heavy load onto my porch. Again - NOT.

I explained to this gentleman, that I was told that someone might be able to help me get this onto the porch and his reply..."I am a solo driver." He then asks if I know anyone with a forklift??? Where the fuck did he come up with that one? Anyone out there have a forklift they want to loan me? Holy crap Batman...I'm ready for a breakdown.
As it stands at the moment...this guy will call me back on Monday, after conversing with his boss, to see if there can be a remedy. Theson has a full bed pick up truck, maybe I can meet the guy somewhere and OPEN this single package and place the individual pieces into the pickup. I know I will still need help in doing even that. This is so bizarre - I know theson packaged everything individually - how the hell did they all end up in ONE HUGE BOX???
I must go rethink this whole situation...my brain cells are aching! It is snowing more and a big storm is brewing - what next...an earthquake??? Don't answer that!!!
Later............
P.S. I just shot this "weather" video to add here. Brrrr....

And ALL is well with the world....Obama's on our side!!

This past Fall, when Obama was campaigning in Pennsylvania, Mr. Rooney, owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers had a big campaign rally at Heinz Field. Several season ticket holders, from what I read, called and complained that they would not renew their tickets, because of Rooney's stance with Obama. Mr. Rooney's reply was along the lines of "fine, there are plenty of people waiting for tickets." Which is quite true - I was on a waiting list for ten years, before I finally gave up. I rely on friends with tickets now - beggar that I am.

Thedaughter will be working a 3-11:30 pm shift, so having to babysit...I will be watching the Super Bowl and legendary SIXTH win here at home by my lonesome. No problem...I can yell louder!!!!
That's my sign-off post for the night. Be back tomorrow - another "snow day" for the schools (they only had a short day this week), and they are definitely in the make-up days now. I hope they just shorten Easter holidays and cut out some in-service days. I am hearing rumors of a 'Noreaster headed our way the beginning of the week...I hope someone is LYING!!!
Later.....................
