IT'S ABOUT TIME..................

The latest announcement has Pres. Obama (Dept. of Treasury), taking a hard stance against these CEO's and their flagrant "bonus" pays. This is being applied to the BIG companies, and the hope is to limit their bonus pays to $200,000. That sure beats the multi-million dollars they were hoping to enjoy.

Citi, Bank of America, AIG, GM, and Chrysler are among these top payers. I say, it's definitely about time - since they had no qualms about accepting the TARP money - which is OUR taxpayer dollars. I honestly do not believe that the private jets, expensive retreats and other perks have been stopped either.

These banks essentially got bigger, and have not opened their doors to better arrangements with us - the public. They (banks) haven't tried to work out arrangements or pay schedules with those facing foreclosure. This has always boggled my mind....the banks have sold off so many mortgages - that trying to find the original "paper" on these transactions has become impossible.

Rather than have thousands of homes sit empty and falling into disrepair - the banks or note holders have refused to work with customers - instead becoming holders of soon to be, worthless real estate. DUH!!!

The repukes will scream "government intervention" - so what!! They must like being raped (monetarily) and having no say in the matter AND relishing that the middle class is no longer! This bold move is most assuredly called for. Many have been voicing their displeasure with these bigwigs since last February - so now is the time to hold them accountable to the taxpayers and those monitoring the TARP funds.

I have been busy CLEANING, and I must say, the older one gets the harder these mundane jobs become. The weather changed so quickly to cold and damp - I had no time to get some of the seasonal tasks completed.
I did close up the back deck - and my body paid dearly for that undertaking. Yesterday, I did absolutely NOTHING. the weather was gorgeous today - sunny and 70*, so I decided to wash all the curtains and windows (inside and out). I feel much better now, although the cat managed to get her nose prints all over one of the clean windows. I'm running around (OCD) re-cleaning those spots. I think I need a straight jacket.
The task of mopping the kitchen floor will have to wait till tomorrow or Friday, because I am positive I will be in considerable pain after being up and down the ladder today. I'm just too damn old for this crap anymore. The mind is willing and the body says...WTF??!?!?!
Since it is such a beautiful day - I laid out a couple of steaks for the grill tonight, and they are happily marinating in the fridge.
Got to run and complete the last load of wash, and thegrandson is home now and may need homework assistance. Have a great day............catch ya later.............................

Our Senators (other side) are asshats!!!

To say I need a life is an understatement. Having worked on tax returns all day plus unloading the "package" from Egypt, I should relax and kick back. Oh NO!! Here I sit listening to our United States Senators acting like asswipes on this Stimulus Bill.

All the alerts went out -- "Senate reaches agreement on Stimulus Package - Vote tonight." So I go to C-SPAN and I am still listening to these ridiculous arguments from the Republicans - and I have to say John McCain was more creative in his figures than most. He would make a great accountant - NOT!

A bipartisan committee met and made over $100 billion in cuts to the initial proposal, and McCain, Martinez, Graham, McConnell and other repukes are spouting off such things as:

"This money will be hard pressed to make it to the state level within two years."
"I call this a generational theft bill."
"There is no oversight of monies included here."
Blah, blah, blah, blah!!!

Let's see, they followed Bush in allowing the first release of TARP funds ($350 billion) with NO oversight whatsoever - and look how that ended. I have a hard time even listening to any Repub argument on this matter, after they essentially allowed this catastrophe to develop.

John McCain is now stating that the Dems are saying "we won the election so we will write the bill" - which makes me want to jump thru that TV screen and strangle that growth on his face! Tell me what good came of the Bush administration and their six years of total reign! The republican party carries no credence with me at this point in time, after ruining the economy and allowing Bush free rein to do as he pleased. Talk about a sore loser.

ARGHH!!! I'm pissed. Then we have the cap on CEO pays that Obama proposes.

I do not have a problem with such a cap. When big businesses come on bended knee to the government and beg to be bailed out of the situations - which they created - then yes, they should have to follow NEW rules.

Tell me the difference between a CEO receiving government money in order to survive and a welfare recipient. In the mid 90's the government initiated much more stringent rules on those receiving welfare. Random drug testing can also be done if receiving Sec. 8 housing, mandatory hours must be worked and documented in order to receive certain benefits, i.e., food stamps and medicaid. So I say - as well as placing a cap on the CEO bonuses - these people should be subjected to other mandatory government rules. I would expect to have all these people sign in and out of work (punch a time clock if you will) and mandate at least a 40 hour work week, no paid lunches, random drug tests would not hurt either.

I see no difference between these two stations in life. Many say - the government should not be running these businesses - well - they shouldn't have let their businesses run into the ground. Sen. Bob Bennett (R-UT) after hearing this proposal stated "you run the risk of having a brain drain at the bank, of their top talent!" Excuse me...would that be the same "brain(s)" that caused these problems, yet still accepted TARP monies and paid out more bonuses??? Get a grip Senator.

I can see now that a vote will not be forthcoming tonight - and I am very tired. This is not a very organized rant..but what the hell. Have a good evening and great weekend, if you don't get back here.

I say "hang 'em all!"...........

Three cheers for NY Attorney General Cuomo. Since Obama voiced his displeasure yesterday for these HUGE bonuses, paid out to TARP receiving CEO's....apparently the fat lady hasn't sung yet.

There appears to be quite a few unanswered questions, as you can read here, that Cuomo intends to receive answers. I'm with Obama on this one..."shameless".

HEY LOOK...Of course WE must be invited...

because we are footing the entire fukking tab!!

(Click to "large size")

WTF is this all about? I was raised by the old saying, "There is a time and a place!" And I don't see this as being either.

The U.S. economy has tanked, everyone is at the feet of the Congress with their hat in hand, people are losing their homes...and we could go on and on here. But this honestly isn't surprising, as Hank Paulson has to be one of the biggest idiots in the world, considering the mismanagement so far as to TARP funds. Can't he just slither away by January 19th - and we will never have to see his bald head again. (this is not an insult to bald men - I like most bald men!)

Now, Paulson is asking for the remaining funds allocated to TARP, to be released. I honestly don't think that is going to happen - as many have seen what a joke (fiasco) this has all turned out to be.

I tried to do a little shopping this morning, early afternoon...and now I am suffering severely. The pain in my back and shoulders is excruciating. I'm popping Naproxen as we speak. I just cannot stand or walk for long periods, or the consequences end up such as this. Actually, I am NOT really old. I will be 57 on Jan. 26th, but my body is rebelling against me. Years of abuse, many surgeries, which allow the arthritis to take over. But, I have that out of my system, no more pissing and moaning...at least for the moment.

It is 20* at the moment, going down to 16* overnight, with a wind chill of 7*. Argh.....this is so not my favorite weather. I can handle winter weather, such as snow at 35*, no wind chill, and no driving. Theson will be tickled to death to head home to cold weather - as I don't believe it snows in Egypt.

I'm glad I was able to finish the outside decorating before this dip in the temps. Thedaughter is off tomorrow, and I hope to FINISH the inside decorations. Then ON with the Holidays!

Enough for now...have a good evening all and Later..................
