THIS KKKLOWN NEEDS REMOVED FROM ......

HIS ELECTED POSITION! Louisiana Justice of the Peace Keith Bardwell epitomizes the word BIGOT, as he well displayed in refusing to marry Terrence McKay and Beth Humphrey. His explanation revolved around "any offspring" of an inter-racial couple. Of course he never backs up his assertions with statistics (as they are hard to find), as to specifically what any children from this marriage may face. All he claims is that these "future" children are sometimes NOT accepted in the families nor in society.

I look at this as a pre-emptive abortion on his part. Who the fuck is he to decide who may or may not be married? Federal law, since 1967, says otherwise - and there is no legal reason to refuse this marriage. Would he equally refuse a Jew from marrying a Gentile? Maybe even refuse to marry a fellow Southerner from marrying a New Yorker! Hey, Bardwell - you are a freaking JP, not a god!

Listen to his swaggering explanation:

Watch CBS News Videos Online

He reminds me of Ernest T. Bass from the Andy Griffith show. The slow drawl, and woebegone look.

The even funnier part is that Gov. Bobby Jindal - the pre-pubescent GOP hopeful, has voiced his belief that Bardwell's license should be revoked. The dumbass doesn't (or wasn't told) know that this is an ELECTED official? Be that as it may, the oath that this man takes as a JP, specifically states that he cannot refuse anyone his services, for race, creed or religion. So Mr. Bardwell - I would imagine your days as a JP in your deep bayou (really don't know if he's in one) - are numbered.

In assuming that you are saving future generations pain, by denying this couple their nuptials - you have apparently bitten the big one.

******************************

I have to admit, I am quite happy that the sheriff in this Colorado town has decided to seek charges against Richard and Mayumi Heene - for the HOAX displayed to America last Thursday. If I could, I would file a suit against these asswipes - for having me so upset and worried that a small child life was in potential danger. I, like so many Americans, was glued to this saga as it developed and as a mother and grandmother, my heart was close to being destroyed.

And they did this for what....a fucking REALITY TV show??? I have seen the various youtube clips of this man and to date, I'm NOT impressed. The clip from Wife Swap, where he was being totally belligerent and demeaning to the "other" wife - all I can say, he should be so thankful, that woman wasn't ME! He would still be trying to get his head out of his ass, after I beat him down!!

In my humble opinion, he comes off as a chauvinistic bastard and total control freak. He isn't even a "meteorologist" - crap, he only finished high school. Heene is definitely a legend in his own mind - and hopefully, this investigative crew will sort it all out and charge him accordingly.

Considering the man-hours and air time for the helicopters and search crews - the monetary retribution should be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. I hope he enjoys working for these agencies FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE!!

Watching this family as a group on the TV circuit last week - I thought those boys were very ill-behaved. Their new attorney has made the statement that they were just the opposite, but I disagree. I believe that the six year old was telling the truth when he blurted out "doing this for the show", and the parents failed miserably in coaching him to lie!

Let the games begin, and charge him! I can't wait to see the outcome of this huge FAIL.

Back to cleaning, catch y'all...........later...............

AN AWARD AND ANSWERING QUESTIONS........

My blogger friend Buzzardbilly, has bestowed an award and I shall try to honor it well here. I consider her a fellow West Virginian, although I have resided in the Buckeye State for 35 years now. It's tough to shed our roots, and I always say, "I'm a West Virginian." Thank you BB for this honor!

The official meme rules are:

•Copy and change the answers to suit you and pass it on.
•Answers may be one word only (I'll be ignoring that and going over the top.)
•Once you have filled it out be sure to pass it on to 6 of your favorite bloggers.
•Alert them that they have been awarded!
•Have fun!

And this is the award you'll get if you get tagged to answer questions and pass the award and duties that go with it on to six of your blog buddies:

My personal choice for having fun with it is to go "over the top" in the spirit of the award. You may or may not want to put down that sammich and set the coffee aside for a few minutes while I play with words. These answers may or may not be true, but I'm gonna make them fun (for me, at least; it is my blog and all).

1. Where is your cell phone? Who needs a cell phone when one enjoys ESP and telepathic powers? There are just things I KNOW!! It also makes for a great party trick!!

2. Your hair? Surely you jest. What few hairs I have left on my head are doomed, doomed I tell you to falling out. Apparently my lack of hormones and past years of abusing these filaments have destined me to baldness. Hopefully, I will be considered a trend setter for old bald women everywhere.

3. Your mother? The adoptive "mother" was a bitch from hell, and is not missed one single day in my life. For all the meanness she exuded, the favoritism she showed to male sibling, verbally abusive to adoptive father - there are no redeeming qualities to be dredged up - ever! My vow has always been to be the BEST mother I could possibly be. I know I love my children more than she loved me. Goal accomplished.

4. Your father? The adoptive father was the BEST. He deserved a medal for the life he led with the "mother." He was educated and a loving person, but was not allowed to show that love to his adopted children. His job was to provide "more" for the money grubbing, social climbing bitch of a wife. I miss him every day.

5. Your favorite food? So much food available, so little time to consume it all. I'm not super picky. Once it all gets on the plate, it gets mixed together and consumed. But a great steak never pisses me off.

6. Your dream last night? I was young again and running all over the place - and not even getting winded. That would be a miracle. I have abused my body way too much over the years to ever do that again.

7. Your favorite drink? Diet Dr. Pepper. I used to be a Cokeaholic, for quite a few years. After constant bouts with heartburn, I made the change to DDP, and haven't had any heartburn since. At one point I could tell anyone, the difference between Coke and Pepsi and what kind/size of container it came from. Now how's that for a talent???

8. Your dream/goal? Believe it or not....I just want to be self-sufficient and survive. Hitting a lottery would give me the opportunity to "scoff" in some peoples faces and help others, but realistically - that's so not happening.

9. What room are you in? The main room of the house...the room where all major decisions are made, lives are formed, bodies fed....and my ass hardly leaves. THE KITCHEN!! Having thedaughter and thegrandson living with me , I gave up the spare room for a toy hoarding room. In a perfect world - that would be my prime residing area - with my computer.

10. Your hobby? Blogging. I'm not the best writer in the world, but I definitely have opinions. I love to receive comments, and I never get upset with someone correcting me, or offering a differing opinion - I'm open to change.

11. Your fear? I honestly do not have any major fears. But essentially I fear for the future of our children and grandchildren. What shape will this world be in a century from now - if it is still a viable environment? The threat of nuclear wars and devastation are not something to really look to in the future.

12. Where do you want to be in 6 years? Enjoying my family, grandchildren and possibly great-grandchildren. The more the merrier.

13. Where were you last night? At home. After "clean out the fridge" night, we watched a movie as a a family. These are good times.

14. Something that you aren’t? Quiet. I like everyone to know I'm around and the art of "holding my tongue" has yet to kick in. Maybe when I hit my 70's, I will quiet down a wee tad.

15. Muffins? A huge, Blueberry Muffin. I haven't met a muffin yet I didn't like.

16. Wish list item? To be able to afford a TWO WEEK cruise in the Caribbean. I LOVE the blue seas and warm temps and doing nothing. One week is fine, but I actually cry when it is time to come home. I believe two weeks would be the greatest thing in the world. With friends or alone, I wouldn't care. I make friends easily.

17. Where did you grow up? Parkersburg, West Virginia (Wood County). While growing up, I always felt I lived in a small town, but being the 3rd largest city in the state at that time, it really wasn't small. I return to visit these days - and know very few people. Ah, life moves on.

18. Last thing you did? Geesh, I woke up and got on the computer. That is a major step these days you know. With friends and neighbors dropping like flies, just waking up seems like one hell of an accomplishment.

19. What are you wearing? Since I just stated that I have just awoken for the day - JAMMIES. And, I might add, since I don't plan on leaving the house, I will remain in these jammies to watch my Sunday football. So there!!! Holy crap, I've been informed we are going to the Pumpkin Patch later - that will involve putting on REAL clothes - EGADS!!!

20. Your TV? Which one I might ask? Which room I might ask? The big ones or the little ones? My late husband used to throw fits, because I had TV's in every room (except bathroom), and phones to boot. He said he could take all the phones and tie their cords together in the center of the house. Of course, that was pre cordless phone days. And the 20" flat screen in the kitchen is mostly on CNN during waking hours.

21. Your pets? One cat - one dog. Angel, the dog, was dumped in the neighborhood about 6 years ago, and she is the BEST dog in the world - a lot like Lassie. Isis, the psychotic cat is 12. She is a calico that I got for my twin sister, and I do believe I contributed to her psychotic personality. But it wasn't my problem, she belonged to my sister. When my sister died unexpectedly, I inherited this mean, nasty cat. Talk about a kick in the ass.

22. Friends? I have many "friends", but since my best friend (like a sister) passed away two years ago, I have become a semi-recluse, missing her constantly. But I cherish the friendships that I do have, and encourage others to be more friendly and work for happiness in their relationships.

23. Your life? Nothing exciting at all. More of an existence than anything. I babysit while thedaughter works and make very few plans for myself. If I felt better physically, I guaranfuckintee, that I would be moving around better and back in the work force, but life has dealt me a different hand. Maybe if I lose 500 pounds (ha) and quit smoking, life would be better. I must get on this new track.

24. Your mood? Upbeat. I'm always in a good mood, till someone goes out of their way to PISS me off.

25. Missing someone? Who isn't? WTF kinda question is that? Is anybody out there really living on Walton's Mountain with the entire lot of people they love inside the house? I think not. (Buzzard's answer - too good to omit.) I will always be missing "someone", this is a cycle of life. **This is BB's answer - and it was sublime.

26. Vehicle? That would be the shiny silver thing with 4 tires and in desperate need of being cleaned, sitting by the house. Lately, I have managed to go four weeks on a fill up - so that tells you how often I get out of the house.

27. Something you’re not wearing? A bra. The girls are flying low, as usual and totally unencumbered. Unfortunately, that will be short-lived, as they have a tendency to cause great pain after a prolonged period of freedom. So on with the contraption of restraint in a short while.

28. Your favorite store? Amazon and Walmart. I groom the mullet, put on the hot pants and let the tats show and head out for a day of shopping bliss at Walmart. Have you seen me on the video??

29. Your favorite color? Black and red.

30. When was the last time you laughed? Laughed hysterically, watching Bill Maher and his New Rules Friday night.

31. Last time you cried? Watching the news coverage of "balloon boy" and thinking of a poor child in that balloon, potentially being killed. It was tense. More on this in a near future blog.

32. Your best friend? My son. He is the first to put things in perspective and not coddle me. He is realistic and smart. And I miss him every single day. (He works abroad and gets home maybe once a year).

33. One place that I go to over and over? Dollar General. I buy all my paper products and recently, some food products there. The prices are terrific. Talk about cheap thrills.

34. One person who emails me regularly? Too many to mention. Local friends mostly, but the primary content is jokes - ones that I have read over and over, but these friends are "new" to the computer generation, so they need to catch up with us "oldies."

35. Favorite place to eat? OUTBACK. I love the Alice Springs Chicken, and have recently learned how to make it at home. But dining at the restaurant allows for all the extra caloric intake - with the cheese fries and desserts. (Just what I need.)

And now for the award and duty bestowing:

John abuzz - check out his site, it is entertaining and pictures are awesome.
Evil Twin's Wife - this housewife always has great posts.
Utah Savage - my favoritist (new word) of all time. Her writings are terrific.
Re-Ramblings - this Oklahoma girl is super. Laughs are always promised!

And anyone else who desires to pick up this award - ENJOY!!!

A MEME...SINCE I HAVE NEITHER A CLUE....

...what to post, or I'm just plain lazy.

Sunday Stealing: The Magical Mystery Tour Meme

1. Is there anybody you just wish would fall off the planet? Well, of course!! Without mentioning names, they would be in the political arena. One, the male with a perpetual orange "tan", and a female, who when she opens her mouth...STUPID comes out!! With them off the planet, we might have a chance to overcome the idiot factor.

2. How do you flush the toilet in public? One is supposed to flush a toilet in public??? With my foot of course. Ewwwww.....touching things like that is gross.

3. Do you wear your seatbelt in the car? I have to admit - NO! Since I had my bypass surgery, the area around my upper chest and neck area is super-sensitive to touch. Even high collars bother me. If I do put on seatbelt, I put the shoulder harness behind my back....and I'm told that is dangerous also. I just can't win.

4. Do you have a crush on someone? No. Nor do I care to really. Should the right person enter my life, that would be fine - but I'm not looking.

6. What famous person do you (or other people) think you resemble? When I have my makeup on, hair done, I have been accused of looking like Better Midler. I was even accosted in a store once (years ago) and had a hard time leaving. Now I'm more like ME. Old and laid back.

7. What is your favourite pizza topping? I'm not a big pizza fan, but when I do order, it has to have: sausage, onions, green peppers and mushrooms.

8. Do you crack your knuckles? NO. And I do so hate those that do - very annoying.

9. What song do you hate the most? "Free Credit Report.com". When that commercial airs, I get chills. Probably because they still have enough money to advertise their fraudulent business.

10. Did just mentioning that song make it get stuck in your head? Damnit!!! YES!

11. What are your super powers? I'm a mother and a grandmother - and YES, I do have eyes in the back of my head.

12. Peppermint or spearmint? Spearmint, but you didn't offer me a Wintergreen option.

13. Where are your car keys? Hanging on the refrigerator.

14. Last song you listened to? Something by Pink on the car radio. I do like her.

15. What's your most annoying habit? Picking and scratching at mosquito bites and sores. Bad, bad, bad!

16. Where did you last go on vacation? Ocean City, Maryland, in early June.

17. What is your best physical feature? I would have to say my eyes.

18. What CD is closest to you right now? None actually. But my iPod is close.

19. What 3 things can always be found in your refrigerator? Milk, Diet Dr. Pepper and ICBINB (butter).

20. What superstition do you believe/practice? I am not superstitious at all...period.

21. What colour are your bed sheets? Gray and burgundy.

22. Would you rather be a fish or a bird? A bird of course, I could take a dump on those that piss me off.

23. Last thing you broke? OMG, I hate when things get broken (my OCD issue), and thedaughter broke a tealight centerpiece just the other day. Grrrrrrr......

24. What are you having to eat tonight? Thedaughter is starting a pot of potato soup.

25. What colour shirt are you wearing? No shirt, jammies!! (black)

26. If you could be doing anything else today, what would you rather be doing? Not coughing, sneezing and bearing this really sore throat!

27. Do security cameras make you nervous? Not at all. I gave up sex in public years ago.

28. If you wrote a book about your life, what would the title be? "She Survived the Lying, Cheating, Bastard of a Husband!"

29. Last time you went to a cemetery? I don't do cemeteries - there's no one there.

30. Last concert you went to? Blue Man Group. (Is that a concert?)

31. Favourite musician(s)/bands you've seen in concert? Phil Collins!!!!

32. Next concert you're planning to attend? None, I have no life whatsoever - just my computer.

33. Do you talk to yourself? Of course. Do I answer - You Betcha!!!

34. Have you ever adopted or purchased a pet? Many. I'm a sucker for cats and dogs, but I've reached a point, that when these two (dog and cat) are gone...no more.

35. Have you ever been present when an animal is being born? Many, many, many times.

Have a great Sunday - and behave. I shall return....later.....

HALLOWEEN COSTUME DECISION...........

This annual decision making process becomes harder every year. Thegrandson has actually had his mind made up for months, it is we, the adults, who kept thinking he would change his mind. NOPE!! He loves Hellboy, and decided that was the costume of choice for this years Trick-or-Treating. I haven't seen one of these movies from beginning to end, but the parts I have glimpsed, were actually funny. There's just something about a huge red man, making jokes and killing the demons, that makes a mother smile!(Ha!)

When hitting the kingdom of Walmart, Target or K-Mart - one typically finds the "costume of the moment", Spiderman, Superman, Batman, Cinderella, Witch, etc....
Hellboy is not on the racks...period. We ended up doing the mail order tact. When the package arrived - thegrandson was on Cloud 9.

The costume included the red head mask w/ sideburns, huge arm, coat and belt. Thegrandson was trying it on and exclaimed "WHERE'S MY DEVIL TAIL???" Damn!! Back to the interwebs and a tail is ordered. I must say he looks pretty good in this outfit - now we just have to hope there is NO SNOW on the 31st. Oh, we have to make some small modifications to the arm, so it wraps "around" his scrawny arm...no biggie there.

Dressing boys for this once a year event is always a huge decision making process as I have mentioned. With my daughter, it was easy, because of all the sweet and feminine choices available. But don't ask her that question. As she reached puberty, I made a simple choice for her - HOOKER!! Hell, with all the makeup available at our fingertips and the avant garde clothing of the time - this was her costume for several years. Cheap (the costume) and easy - and out the door for the goodies. I was certainly a wonderful mother.

**************************
This morning started out, much like every other morning, and as I was having my coffee and watching the morning news, I get a phone call from my neighbor - who never calls this early (just before 9 am). She was asking if I was OK, since there were two emergency squads outside. I told her I was fine, but from where my kitchen in located I actually have no clue what is going on outside. Although, my dog kept running back and forth, whining - I just chalked it up to her being in heat and wanting to go out!

Alas, the squads were at the "new" neighbors house. After 15 minutes or so, when I saw no equipment being carried in or out and the squad guys walking back and forth on the cell phones...I knew there was a death. the father-in-law that just moved in two weeks ago, apparently died in his sleep. I have known Pete for several years and my daughter knew him better, so I'm sure this will be hard on this family.

I contacted one neighbor and we will take up a collection for flowers as we are the "bigger" people here, as she noted. I feel bad for the two grandchildren who are in school and unaware at this point. Again, we get NO guarantees in this world and we have to cherish and hold dear those we love - every second. This past Monday was nine years since my husband passed away, and tomorrow will be two years since my best friend passed. So this is just a depressing time of year for us.
*****************************

I will close with pics of some really crappy or interesting (depending on one's frame of mind) Halloween costumes:

MORE PICS TOMORROW!!! TIS THE SEASON.

POTPOURI OF "STUFF!"..................

Just a mish-mash of all the "goings on", is all I have to offer at the moment. It is a cold, dank and rainy day, which does nothing to energize me whatsoever. So all I can set forth here is a culmination of "garbage" in the world arena (Ha!).

When watching this video, skip to the 8 minute mark (heaven knows the first eight minutes with Beck will send you to the loony bin), and listen to Bachmann's remarks about staying in politics vs. leaving that forum. WTF??? She is now MICHELLE OF ARC it would seem. Definitely she is a legend in her own delusional mind. I was hoping to find a clip of just the last part, like TPM ran, but they had no embed code, just to complicate my life I guess.

Bachmann handing the "torch of freedom" on to her children and foster children???? Sorry Michelle, but you are not the Statue of Liberty here. Your children and foster children have the right with or without your input. Hopefully, they are independently minded enough, to move past your thwarted and demented thinking and establish their own paths in life. And how's that going with your oldest son in one of Obama's indoctrination camps??? Oh, the brain cells are jumping.

I have been "loving" all the chatter about Rush Limbaugh and his venture to buy into the NFL team, the St. Louis Rams. From all that I have read, one NFL owner voiced his opposition quite loudly regarding this possible move by Limpdick.

The gooftard was one of a group of businessmen, who put a bid in for this purchase, which rankled those who are adamantly against this drug addicted, racist buffoon from having anything to do with this football franchise. Many NFL players remained silent on this matter, but there were a few who voiced their discontent with having this man in such a position.

His BIG mouth and racist comments have come back to KICK HIM IN THE ASS, it would appear. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have both spoken out against this move. I think the general makeup of pro football players is around the 60% black mark. And Limpdick made references in the past (I believe while an announcer for ESPN) that watching the game was like watching the "Crips and Bloods." That is only one of many racist remarks he has made in the past - so why would anyone think he should be allowed to enter the forum again - to run his foul mouth?

In an interview with NBC, he made the statement that he would "never cave" on this issue and he would still pursue this purchase. WELL........his business buddies apparently saw the downfall to his inclusion in their little group. He now does not have to "cave" at all....because they KICKED HIS ASS OUT OF THE GROUP!!! (Visualize my chubby body doing a happy dance!)

It would appear that CNN may have to replace Alex Castellanos as a Republican strategist on future programs. While arguing the rethug POV at various times against this health care reform, it would appear that he has been promoting/representing some of these large health insurance agencies. The last time I saw him on CNN, was when Rep. Grayson came on, after his "in your face" comments on the floor, "get sick, you die" placards and a definitely fed up with the status quo attitude. Castellanos tried to get in Grayson's face, but he lost on all counts. I'm sure since this has hit the news, CNN will definitely change his status, from strategist to lobbyist.

AND FINALLY.............

Political HumorRon Paul Interview

Jon Stewart may be all about "funny", but humor aside, this monologue hit the nail on the head. Minnesotans can be very proud of finally having Al Franken as a representative in the Senate. This issue of "gang rape" by private contractors needed to be addressed, and without Franken, we may have never heard some of these details. Sen. Jeff Sessions is a punk and as a woman - I'd like the opportunity to kick his ass. One image that pops into my head now, is....what if Liz Cheney were in this poor woman's position, and was gang raped. What would daddy say then? "Stiff upper lip baby, life goes on and you just gave a wonderful gift in the name of patriotism!" These war mongering, neo-cons have such a warped sense of "right and wrong." We know this because "waterboarding" is NOT torture - just ask any of these fukktards.

Go Jon Stewart and Al Franken. Keep up the fight for those who have a hard time being heard.

OK, I have to go out into the rain (yes, I may melt), and run a couple of errands. Not exactly what I desire for the day, but all tasks are imperative.

MOVIE BEING FILMED HERE.........

Denzel Washington will be here in our town for two and a half weeks, the first of Novemeber to film parts of UNSTOPPABLE.

For shits and giggles, thedaughter and I went and signed up as extras this afternoon. Supposedly they need 500-700 extras, and from the large stacks of papers, I'm sure they will have no problem. Pretty much, residents of Bellaire have first opportunity at the spots.

I will try to post more on this later, with pics of the railroad tracks and pipe yard, being utilized for these dramatic scenes. We have a unique arched train trestle structure here, which hasn't been used for years, but it is an historic architectural structure.

I will let everyone know more - if we re selected to be in the background.

DON'T FORGET TO STOP BY: PAST THE VELVET ROPE (FRIDAY POSTINGS)

NO ETHICS....NOT A JOURNALIST.....

Like the medical profession and their adherence to the Hippocratic Oath, journalists are bound by a Code of Ethics. I'm a firm believer in an ethical balance in just about every course of life, only those in the "journalistic" fields have thrown out ALL the rules. The print media has appeared to take on certain stances with complete disregard to ethics, as well as the 24 hour news, and network news organizations. No one is shocked by this, I'm sure.

In my humble opinion, I feel we can no longer call many of these shows that air - "news" shows. Believeing that one needs a degree in journalism to sit behind a desk, whether that would be in front of a camera or in a newspaper office - appears to be passe as well. So, if one does not have a degree in journalism, they are NOT required to follow the journalism Code of Ethics? Something has gone terribly wrong!

I have compiled a "small" (ha!) list of those we see daily - and their college degrees.

ABC
Diane Sawyer - Degree in English '67, Wellesley College
Charles Gibson - B.A. ? (not journalism) '65, Princeton University (failed to get in Harvard Law School)

CBS
Katie Couric - Degree in American Studies '79, University of Virginia (daughter of journalist)

NBC
Brian Williams - Brookdale Community College > George Washington University > The Catholic University of America...no degree! Honorary Doct. of Journalism from The Ohio State University '08

CNN
Wolf Blitzer - B.A. History, M.A. International Relations, Johns Hopkins University
Rick Sanchez - University of Minnesota - Journalism Scholarship - no degree.
Anderson Cooper - Degrees in Political Science and INternational Relations, Yale University '89.
Campbell Brown - B.A. Political Science, Regis College

MSNBC
Rachel Maddow - Deg. in Public Policy '94, Rhodes Scholar, Doctor of Philosophy, Oxford University '01.
Keith Olbermann - B.S. in Communication Arts, Cornell '79.
Joe Scarborough - B.A. Univ. of Alabama, JD, Univ. of Florida College of Law '90.
Chris Matthews - Deg. Economics, College of the Holy Cross '67.
Ed Schultz - Grad. of Minnesota State University (? degree).
Dylan Ratigan - B.A. Political Economics, Union College

FOX
Chris Wallace - Attended Harvard - no degree.
Bill O'Reilly - Marist College, History, B.A. '71, Queen Mary College of University of London, M.A. Broadcast Journalism Boston University.
Glenn Beck - Took one theology class @ Yale Univ. (Sen. Joe Lieberman recommended him through Courses for Non-Traditional Students. No Degrees.
Sean Hannity - What can I say...He was a general contractor and a bartender - NO HIGHER EDUCATION.
Greta Van Susteren - Deg. from Univ. of Wisconsin in Geography & Economics. Law degree from Georgetown University Law Center '79.
Shepard Smith - Univ. of Mississippi - studied Journalism, no degree.
Steve Doocy - Univ. of Kansas, B.A. in Journalism.
Brian Kilmeade - Grad. of Long Island University (? degree)

After I perused the journalism code of ethics...it was quite apparent that there is a complete disregard for most tenets, in most reporting agencies. I would imagine that is why I prefer to have multiple sources for my information.

The primary problem would be ACCURACY. And this is just "in your face", Faux Noise lacks the most accuracy. "Deliberate distortion is never permissible" - would be Faux's basic faux pas. Watching Hannity the other night (saw it on video - never watch it live), put up a video for Michael Moore's benefit - trying to trip him up with "their" undercover video of a hospital in Cuba - was hysterical.

Hannity was trying to give a "gotcha" moment to Moore - in opposition to his movie "Sicko", when he stated about the premium care in Cuban hospitals. Being the total asshole that Hannity is - he actually thought he was going to show a cut and edited video to a great director? WTF?? When Hannity asked for Moore's response to the squalor he was seeing on the film, Moore stated, "I'm waiting to see patients, or doctors and nurses." The light bulb must have gone off, and Hannity quickly tried to change the subject as he was caught dead to rights, with scamming the audience with the doctored film.

But this is what people believe - it is being aired on their TV's "so it must all be true!"

The FCC or powers that be, need to hold these news outlets to some ethical standard. I would love to see the day when "fair and balanced" truly means just that.

Until that time - we must ask questions and check sources and facts - because the people we depend on, certainly have missed the mark.

TEMPORARY CHANGE TO BLOG.....

Last night, while I was trying to sleep (always an effort), someone from Taiwan managed to post 67 comments on previous posts. I added word verification a short while ago, to avoid this problem, but apparently I have been targeted.

So now, I am going to try moderating comments for awhile. I'm sorry if this will upset anyone, but I detest going back and deleting that many comments.

The only thing I could make out on all these comments was "SEO". Google tells me this is a Taiwanese based company called Search Engine Optimization. whether I have hit on the right company or not is beside the point. I just prefer not to deal with nuisances. So bear with me.

Back to bed I go now.........later..............

A POX ON WHOMEVER SENT ME THESE GERMS.....

I feel like crap...not getting better...haven't had flu shot yet!!! Guess it might be too late for that one. Just crawled out of bed to post "something" - to let all know I'm alive...barely.

So much to post about, and no energy to utilize. Hopefully in a couple of days, I can get "back with the program." Until then, behave and play nice with one another.

And to the creep from Taiwan leaving comments....FU!!! Apparently it is a human, as they get past the word verification, but 63 comments overnight - get a life!

Later...............(cough, cough!!)
