JUST A SATURDAY SO-SO POST!!

This has been a laid back Saturday, and after we returned home from thegrandson's baseball game (they won 17-4), I immediately go to Google Reader to catch up on the blogs while I was away.

This one stood out - like a bolt of lightening. I was laughing so hard, I had to go through these pictures one by one a second time. Yes, that is MY son's face, superimposed on all those characters. Then when the "pope" picture appeared, I was like "oh hell no!" He is so very NOT pope material. This was posted by one of theson's very best buds - and I am sure he will appreciate it very much - and get a big chuckle also.

While "stumbling" around the interwebs, I found this:

Now, I don't speak, much less read French - so I can only assume (bad thing to do) that this is an ad for bacon or other cut of pig meat. But how appropriate during this "flu" season. If you ask me...this is one psychotic porker!!

At thegrandsons baseball game this afternoon, of course the conversations all led in one way or another..to this "swine flu." Now, it seems that the CDC or powers that be are calling this the H1N1 virus. I've read what this all stands for, but it was also Greek to me. Another assumption on my part, is that by trying to get the media and public away from saying "swine" flu, has some degree of lessening any danger. Or it could be since the pork industry is close to the panic point, because people only listen to others and fail to research this issue themselves. EATING PORK DOES NOT CAUSE THIS MALADY!

And here's another antiquated advertisement:

What else can I say. Someone had a perverse sense of humor - back then. Well, it's been real folks, but I am a little tired and believe I just might go stretch out on the bed and watch some nighttime television. I was still up at 3:30 this morning, and finally just got up at 7:30 am. I really need more sleep than I actually got. Have a great evening and mahvelous Sunday...when I shall return.

You either love her or hate her but....

after a long absence (due to ill health) Helen Thomas is back in the drivers seat. Over a span of eight presidencies, this woman has held court for the daily briefings. She would often ask the questions some less weathered reporters would be afraid to even broach.

I have always liked her tenacity and forward approach in confronting the highest office holder in our country. She appears to have suffered recently with the weight loss and unsteadiness, but I am sure her questions will still be spot on!

I haven't blogged as much yesterday and today, as besides having a damn stomach flu or something, the pain in my neck and shoulder is KILLING me! I feel much better just sitting around and whining - not that anyone cares....wah!!!

So with that - I leave you this (just for the moment!)

**I got this in an e-mail from thedaughter2 this morning...it just felt so right!

Thanks to all for your concern and prayers!

Thegrandson is home now, on very strong antibiotics (so powerful no pharmacy had it in inventory), and hopefully on the recuperative road. I had to take him back to the doctor Thursday and the first thing the doctor said to me was "Do you realize how sick the little guy is?" Ask me another dumb question - because I was beginning to wonder if anyone in the medical profession truly knew how sick he was. I waffle between is/was, because he is still losing skin and his hands are like raw meat actually. He is still "molting" on feet, legs, arms, hands and fingers. we are going to have to bandage his hands in such a way as to be able to hold a pencil in school and protect the exposed skin from secondary infections. I think the meds are zonking him to a degree as he is taking naps (3 hrs) daily. He just shuts off the TV, rolls over and he is out like a light. This little guy hasn't taken a nap in over 3 years.

I received so many emails hoping for his quick recovery and for that I am so grateful. His Uncle has called a couple of times (from Egypt) and this perks him up immensely. We are trying to catch up on missed homework, but for the most part it is just "busy" work. We cover the basics, spelling and math, and we are good to go. He is very bright and will catch up quickly I believe.

To top everything off, I have either the flu or a very bad cold and all I want to do is crawl in bed and sleep - but I will put that off till I get caught up on all the work I have missed. There truly is no rest for the wicked.

More later guys....TTFN
