As most of you may have already heard, TheMom lost her long health battle on July 3rd. I am sorry I couldn't post any sooner than this but there have been many things that needed taken care of. The last 3 weeks TheMom spent at home were the best time she had. She was playing monkey in the middle in the neighbors pool and doing back flips like a young child again. She was so full of life and loved every minute of it. TheMom had many friends and has since had many with broken hearts. Her goal in life was to be happy and I believe she was until her untimely passing. To all those who knew TheMom, I am sorry to say this will be her final blog post. I have been told others will keep us her Caturdays so please folllow their sites and remember TheMom fondly as she would want to be remembered. Thank you to everyone who has sent their kind words.

Well, Saturday...er Caturday is here....but Wimbledon is taking the center stage right now. We have no solid plans for this holiday weekend, but we did buy a BUNCH of fireworks to set off with the neighbors.

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Fourth of July!! The temps are supposed to be through the roof..so we may have to be jumping in the neighbor's pool as well. I shall return.........LATER..............

OOOOHHHH...THEDAUGHTER IS GOING TO BE MAD!!!

Thedaughter has been continually "knocking down", "tearing apart", the robin's attempts to build a nest on the gutter pipe. This has become almost a daily ritual - bird brings twigs and starts and restarts the makings of a beautiful nest...daughter RIPS the construction down from its perch.

Today, we find this (pic above). The robin is now attempting to use DUCT TAPE (or as we like to call it - 200 mph tape) to reinforce the project. Thedaughter will be screaming and ripping at 4 pm when she returns home from work. Wish I could warn the feathered creature, but alas....it speaks no English. LOL

The temps are much cooler today than the high 90's of yesterday. The clouds have the "threatening" look of rain, but I see no rain on the weather map.

I am now tuning in to Wimbledon matches....as the World Cup Soccer matches have pissed me off with ALL the BAAAAAAAAAAADDDD calls by the refs. I don't care which country is playing, these refs apparently did not have any vision requirements in order to get their jobs. I'm not jut a fair-weather fan...just a pissed off fan.

Theson and neighbor Joe - are working on the neighbors pool - trying to create a way to get in and out of said pool, until new ladder arrives - sometime between now and July 6th...thanks Amazon. This will work well, as they (neighbors will be on vacation) and WE will be swimming like crazy. (We have their permission.)

Being a former West Virginian....I am saddened with the passing of Sen. Robert Byrd. I met the man, many, many years ago and was impressed with his self education and ferocity for the people of that state. He was realistic enough to understand that, once being a KKK member (in his early 20's), that mark would follow him for the remainder of his life...right down to his obituary. Being raised in southern WV during his formative years - that would not have been considered a bad move - as that area was highly bigoted. It took a long time and having his eyes opened...that he grew past all the prejudice. He was a staunch supporter for Pres. Obama as well. I was his biggest fan, for his opposition to Bushy's WARS. His views and statements about the wars were very succinct and will probably go down in the annals of history.

Granted, he brought a lot of wonderful projects to WV, in the form of "pork" and was totally unashamed of his moves....the state is much better for those projects. It will be a long, long time before another Senator is seated with the knowledge of all the "loopholes" in parliamentary procedure and Senate decorum as Byrd. R.I.P. Robert Byrd.

**UPDATE: The tennis match has been called "due to darkness"...score 59-59...time played 9 hr. 58 min. A record breaking the old time of 6+ hours in 1968. So far this game has been played over two days, but a great deal of stamina is still required.

Loving tennis as I do, we have been channel surfing between the FIFA World Cup and Wimbledon (when available/aired). Unfortunately, Wimbledon is not being telecast today, and I have to read about this phenomenal game being played as I type.

This is one match I would love to watch...providing I had nothing better to do with my time. I can't imagine any tennis player having the stamina to play over NINE hours straight. this game is STILL BE PLAYED mind you. I have scoured the interwebs and can't even find the match being streamed....grrrrr. I am having to settle for these nail biter World Cup matches.

USA! USA! USA! Just when I thought we were going to lose (because England was ahead in their match 1-0), at 91 minutes into the game, Landon Donovan kicks the winning GGGGOOOOAAALLLLL!!

This is going to be short and sweet as a nasty storm is rolling in and I have to call the vets to see how Angel is doing. I called at 3:30pm and she was still in surgery. I would imagine since the surgery is running so late, they will keep her overnight - which is fine with me.

I found this video in my stumbling around the interwebs....as usual Michelle Bachmann got my blood pressure rising. She is such an ignorant troll. When I hear the phrase "word salad" I immediately envision Palin and this fukktard.

Clearly and openly this idiot managed to pop off about Obama "redistributing the wealth" by sealing a deal for $20 billion - as compensation to those in the affected areas of this oil spill.

I say VALIDATE that argument. Face it...she can't. As usual she just trips and spits around some weird argument and still comes out.......DUMB.

I was totally surprised that Bill O'Reilly was coming at her...not quite the position I though he would take. Listen:

Enough of that woman's weirdness. We took our Collie/Chow mix dog to the vet this morning and the inflamed teat she has been licking...turns out to be a mass. She will be having surgery tomorrow, and I am hoping that the vet can get all the involved tissue at that time. Thegrandson is devastated that he might lose his pet...but this is just another stepping stone in his learning years. We will deal with everything one step at a time.

Angel, our dog, is the best pet in the entire world. Someone "DUMPED" her approximately 7 years ago in our neighborhood. She roamed around all day, till late in the evening, I opened the door and she ran in and jumped on the couch with my then sick grandson (3 yrs old at the time)...and he blurted out "MY PUPPY!" Now, what was I to do? She has been here ever since, and everyone, my clients, friends, etc...just adore her. She is so very gentle and loving and she will stand up with her paws on your shoulders and you will be surprised how gently this happened. We are hoping for the best tomorrow....so good vibes from everyone should help.

Watching Tony Hayward being grilled by the members of the Energy & Commerce Committee today was a real treat. Of course CNN was being alternated with the ESPN channel carrying the FIFA (World Soccer Matches).

Most of the members were really harsh (as they rightfully should be) with the BP CEO, except for this mental midget from the state of Texas...Joe Barton. Check this out (if you haven't caught excerpts already):

"I'm ashamed of what happened in the White House yesterday," said Barton. "I think it is a tragedy in the first proportion that a private corporation can be subjected to what I would characterize as a shakedown -- in this case a $20 billion shakedown -- with the attorney general of the United States, who is legitimately conducting a criminal investigation and has every right to do so to protect the American people, participating in what amounts to a $20 billion slush fund that's unprecedented in our nation's history, which has no legal standing, which I think sets a terrible precedent for our nation's future."

........and he goes on to say...

"I'm only speaking for myself. I'm not speaking for anyone else, but I apologize," Barton added. "I do not want to live in a county where any time a citizen or a corporation does something that is legitimately wrong, [it is] subject to some sort of political pressure that, again, in my words, amounts to a shakedown."

I had to laugh later on in the afternoon, as Wolfe Blitzer was interviewing a representative from the state of Louisiana, who was slightly pissed at Mr. Barton's comments, to say the least. This gentleman went on to say "well, I guess we know what company Mr. Barton will be working for, when he is out of office!" I guess being a Congressman from the Houston area makes this fukktard a resident of the oilmans deep pockets!

Michelle Bachmann is of the same ilk...she was flapping her jaws in a nonsensical manner last night - against the $20 billion fund to be established. She is caught up in her fantasies of "redistribution of the wealth" again. I wonder if we can just have her committed NOW!!!

Apparently Henry Waxman gave a written list of questions to Hayward ahead of time, and when posed these questions today - had no answers. I heard very little new info today - and Hayward left rather non-plussed.

At the noon recess, Barton was summoned into John Boehner's office and literally threatened by Boehner and Eric Cantor,with stripping of his seniority on this committee, to apologize "on the floor" for the apology he made to BP. DUH?!?!?

His apology was a joke of the greatest magnitude. He, of course, maintained that everyone MISCONSTRUED what he had said, and that he definitely blamed BP for this devastation. As his tongue flapped against his jaws, he was actually seeing how many ways he could conjugate the word misconstrue...ending with MISCONSTRUCTION!!! Good grief - what a moron.

For all the threats the GOP has been making about taking over the majority next election.....I would have to rethink that statement. If the SMART American analyzes what is coming from this party, the Teabaggers and such...we have no problem. But those who support these liars and apologists, need to back up a step or two and ask themselves, "are these viable answers?"

Enough for now, this moron managed to get my blood pressure up higher than I like for the day. Now it's back to watching the soccer matches until the NBA final at 9 pm. Let's go Celtics.

Unfortunately, I missed Pres. Obama's address to the country last night, regarding this epic environmental disaster in Louisiana. Of course we live in the age of YouTube and instant replays, so I managed to garner the gist of this speech.

Leading up to this address, Mr. OrangeMan himself - John Boehner (R-OH), had the following to say:

“While President Obama is speaking tonight, oil will continue to leak from the well and extend its stranglehold on the lives and livelihoods of the people in the affected areas. Even now, nearly two months after disaster first struck, the federal response remains inadequate and disorganized. Americans are rightly angry about this failure of government, and they want to know that their president is focused squarely on stopping this leak, cleaning up this mess, and finding out what went wrong.

“President Obama should not exploit this crisis to impose a job-killing national energy tax on struggling families and small businesses. Both parties should be working together to craft responsible solutions in response to this disaster. There’s nothing responsible or reasonable about a national energy tax that will raise energy costs and destroy more American jobs.

“President Obama will also reportedly address some of the financial issues surrounding the crisis, including the establishment of an escrow fund. These resources should be used to help the victims of this disaster, and not as a slush fund for trial lawyers or Administration officials seeking to paper over their own misguided decisions. BP should be held accountable for the full cost of this disaster – the taxpayers shouldn’t pay one dime – but that money must be directed to where it can be most effective in stopping this leak and aiding the recovery effort.

“I sincerely hope that the Obama Administration will not try to use a crisis made worse by its own failings to score political points on the backs of Americans living and working on the Gulf Coast. This moment demands a call to action based on our shared interest in stopping this leak, cleaning up this mess, and finding out what went wrong.”

As I have said before, this fukktard does not represent my area of Ohio (Thank heavens), and the man is a bloomingfuckingidiot!

The tragedy of the loss of lives on the oil rig and the devastation to the oceans and livelihoods of thousands is sad and needs to be addressed, but I personally have some issues as to where people wish to lay the blame.

I blame BP 1000%!! Need I say that again? These oil companies or any other manufacturer or processor needs to be able to deal with any and all crises that may develop within their individual businesses...that includes have the technological know-how to address possible oil spills and the cleanup involved.

Why are people getting mad at Obama and the government for not having this spill cleaned up by now? What department and/or people physically deal with this area of expertise on a daily basis. Do not tell me the Coast Guard - they have some experience with minor issues in this area, but nothing on such a large scope, nor do they have the equipment readily available. As a government, the various departments are setup to establish guidelines for various industries, to ensure that the industries themselves can deal with their own accidents.

Some are making comparisons to Hurricane Katrina, and I also do not see that correlation. The hurricane involved immediate life threatening situations, and our citizens were being ignored - that was Pres. Bush's problem...and don't forget "Brownie!" That administration ignored the immediate needs of the people, misappropriated monies..and ultimately left and ignored a populated area of our country to fend for themselves.

BP has seen fit to ignore the families of the 11 men lost on this oil rig...supplemented a few fishermen with paltry sums of money, lied to the populace of the U.S., and like a certain political party....lied and put a spin on every step of this cleanup process. The media has been banned and forcibly removed from certain areas as well. I'm sure BP would enjoy total media manipulation, but I can't see that happening at this time.

The U.S. can mandate or possibly commandeer specific groups with proper equipment to work on this cleanup...but do we have the equipment at hand? The past department heads who allowed all the citations against BP to go unanswered, need to be held accountable as well.

Pres. Obama has suggested that these affected states now call up the National Guard to work on this disaster....that is all well and good...but where do they get the proper equipment to perform their duties?

The technology has to be developed, first and foremost, before these companies are allowed to BLOW SMOKE UP OUR ASSES, and submit papers filled with lies and bullshit in order to get operating permits. SEVEN oil companies have submitted plans to protect the WALRUS'S in the Gulf of Mexico, while also promising to be able to clean up any and all spills. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO WALRUS'S IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. What fucking idiots.

We need to question: why did it take someone so long to read all that was printed in these permit applications? I am also sure this is not the only industry submitting grossly exaggerated applications to our government....one has to know that in politics - there are many oversights made, just as any privately run business.

Now is not the time to lay blame for lack of cleanup on our government. Now is the time to find any and all assets available to assist in the massive disaster, and once completed....go after the assholes responsible. (I would suggest freezing BP's assets, so no huge bonuses are paid and money siphoned away from helping those affected by this spill).

So John Boehner.....you can kiss my fat ass, and hopefully pull your head of your ass, and get with the program. If ever there was a bipartisan issue to deal with...this would be it!

Pres. Obama is making his FOURTH trip to the state of Louisiana and oil spill affected areas today, and will speak to the nation on Tuesday night. I want to hear an angry man!!!! I want to hear from a man who is "putting his foot down" and demanding, to the point of monetary penalties...that BP set up accounts with enough funding for clean-up and restitution for those whose livelihoods have been wiped away.

I'm sick of listening to the whining of BP's CEO Tony Hayward...consistently passing the buck and lessening the impact of this ecological disaster. In plain speak....his LYING!!! I found a list of sociopathic tendencies described on another site and this is Mr. Hayward to a T!

* Persistent lying or stealing – Only 5,000 gallons, the Top Kill is working, oil won’t harm the clean up workers, there aren’t any plumes, etc.

* Apparent lack of remorse or empathy for others – “I’d like my life back.”

* Cruelty to animals – You don’t have to go very far to find images of animals dead on the beaches, or covered in oil or tar.

* Poor behavioral controls — expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper

* A history of childhood conduct disorder – don’t know anything about his childhood

* Recurring difficulties with the law – 700+ violations for BP over the last few years.

* Tendency to violate the boundaries and rights of others – getting workers to sign non-disclosure, non-litigation waivers.

* Substance abuse – ???

* Aggressive, often violent behavior; prone to getting involved in fights – ???

* Inability to tolerate boredom – ???

* Disregard for safety – BP has abysmal safety record under his leadership.

C'mon the man blamed "food poisoning" for several residents illnesses from the smell and contaminants from this spill. then the fucking moron has the balls to declare on television that he "wants his life back." Boofuckinghoo!

Folks, if all the BP stations go dark and the company enters bankruptcy, I have no qualms. But before that happens - all those in the upper echelons need to be forced to chip in all those multi-million dollar bonuses as well. The effects of this ginormous spill will be felt for decades to come - and there is no excuse. The company wanted corners cut all for the sake of the almighty dollar (or euro or whatever).

I will be eagerly awaiting to see an angry man speak to America tomorrow - I only hope he meets my expectations.

YUCK!! I've only seen a tiny video clip of these two IDIOTS, hugging on stage at this big rally today. If I could view more than that...I might go blind or...insane.

Can you imagine - two brain cell challenged women on the same stage - WITH a fan club????? WTF is wrong with the American public? I should certainly hope that Batshit crazy woman still tells her constituents to NOT fill out their census forms -I would love for her to be surprised to find out she has NO district at all, by such an action.

Bachmann is shoved so far up Palin's ass - she came out looking like this picture above....scary huh???? I remember after one of W's State of the Union speeches...Bachmann literally stepping over her fellow house members to get her picture taken with the chimp and get his autograph. I knew from that minute, this was one whacked broad.

I'm sure the main gist of this rally speech is centered around the Health Care Reform bill. Considering both these morons contributed greatly to ALL the lies which went viral over the HCR bill - I'm sure those in attendance will be shouting those LIES as loudly as possible. Oh, I do so hope Bachmann gets to also perpetuate her "re-education" camps while she is at it. (Damn, ended the sentence with a preposition). I also hope she gets the opportunity (either female character) to reinforce the fact that THEY and only THEY know what is best for all Americans. At least those of us with many, many more brain cells than both these idiots combined - have a hard time rationalizing that statement.

The party that allowed us to go to war (not declared by Congress), the party that forgot (??) to even fund their war, the party that allowed corporate greed to dominate the free market to the point of extinction...........yep, sounds like a good choice to put back in power.

I watched this video and by the end felt much like Al Franken, in that this young and rude young man - was making it up as he went along - much like most rethuglians. Watch...........

This Jason Mattera, by throwing out the words "jungle gyms" and "monkey bars" tries to put a spin on the health care reform bill - that does not exist. The only intention that he is spreading (which is consistent with the GnOP'ers) that wellness and prevention are totally unacceptable. Then the little fukktard tries to press the issue of breast feeding during work hours, requiring the "breast feeding police" - as spelled out in the bill. Again, a complete falsehood - and a slap in the face to nursing mothers from a punk ass upstart.

OK....the IQUITAROD Queen headed to Arizona to stump for John McCrackhead and has veered off course (along the TEAPARTY circuit) and headed to Searchlight, Nevada to attempt to trample Harry Reid's territory. In her nasally, folksy way - she is now shouting "You're fired" in reference to Obama, Pelosi and Reid. After I picked myself up off the floor from laughing so hard - I'm still trying to find some rationale for THE QUITTER, to take on the Donald Trumpesque mode and feel she has such clout.

I could understand better had she just encouraged Obama, Pelosi and Reid to just QUIT - since therein lies, her expertise!! And the masses she is preaching to - these Teabaggers - WTF is up with them. Are they all part of the millions of unemployed who have nothing better to do with their unemployment benefits than travel...or are they retirees, benefiting from that social program called Social Security and Medicare? I definitely know that I don't have the resources to follow across this vast country - the sycophants of the right.

I managed to contain a massive chuckle as I saw PalGal all decked out in leather, trying to influence the people, like the dominatrix she pretends to be. I honestly can not watch the videos of her blathering on at these events, because my heart can only bear so much. Now listen Mother Nature, I have my sandals out and have been wearing them. My rule of thumb is once they are on for the season, they stay on till the snow flies - in October or November....not MARCH!! So straighten up and get your act together...we want sunshine and lots of that!

Apparently cranky, senile, lying asswipe John McCrackhead researched the rules of the Senate yesterday and found an obscure rule about holding meetings AFTER 2 pm., and thus ended most productive activity on "the hill" for the day. woot, woot for you Mr. Dementia - you have proven your childish, loser ways. As much as I detest your opponent in the upcoming Arizona Senate race - I HOPE HE BEATS YOUR ASS!! At least he would come in as a freshman senator with hardly any clout at all.

For as much as the "teabaggers" (I hate the vision that comes to mind) and other GnOP'ers seem to think they will overtake the house and senate in the next election, they may be shooting themselves in the foot.

Yesterday, the phone calls to some senators, threats and vandalism to homes is inexcusable. These are acts perpetrated by those of lesser intelligence (the brain dead), who are easily led by those shouting in their direction. After listening to snippets of phone messages left for a couple of senators - one only has to hear two seconds to realize these are not Harvard grads. These people are the sycophants of the "wingnuts" of the right - those who rush home to sit in awe of the Beck's and Hannity's, or those who turn that radio dial to listen to Mr. Limpdick himself.

Who is going to be held responsible when one of our representatives is hurt or possibly killed? What about the families of these elected officials? John Boehner offered the lamest of apologies, after it was made public about the vandalism to one reps brother's home (propane gas line severed). He can scream the loudest, but run and hide the quickest as well.

Is not achieving the goals of getting work done for our country - more important than "bringing down Barack Obama?" I personally believe there may be more than enough room at Gitmo for these treasonous bastards. Yes, I mean that. These fukktards were elected to do a job - and they get paid quite nicely for that job. But, by refusing to work - it is tantamount to treason (government jobs remember), and all should be subject to recall or prosecution.

We are literally back to "square one." We need to garner our support for our party and send that strong message - one that apparently has not been heard - YOU LOST, to the rethugs! We heard Hannity say that phrase more than enough after Bush stole the election in '04! Let's work to get our country back on line and profitable once again. The corporatist rethugs will NOT cooperate in any fashion, so we have to work around them.

On Sunday, I was glued to my TV and the C-Span station for over FOURTEEN hours. To state that I need a life would be an understatement, but I found it all so very interesting and frustrating at the same time.

To listen to the alternating sides arise and give their speeches was something everyone should experience or comment on at least. Bias that I am, the Democrats reiterated, over and over, how those who have been denied medical coverage - would now be able to seek proper medical care without the fear of bankruptcy or denial. Some of the representatives mentioned individuals by name from their districts.

The Republican representatives (in alternating discourse) would rise and spout off the same lying talking points. At various times, they tried to manipulate the session, with all the procedural calls and points of order. I have stated before, that these reps - if they call you a fish long enough, you will begin to look for your gills.

Is this a perfect bill - hell no. But a starting point had to be established, a point from which to pefect the necessary attributes. As for BIPARTISANSHIP - we tried that.....so I say go forward while you have the votes and set us back on the right course.

The "right" is whining, for ALL to hear - that the Dems have not even sought bipartisan support and/or ignored all proffers. Again, the lies will continue ad nauseum. President Obama has MORE than tried to work with the "other side of the aisle" and since they are blinded by their racism and birther attitudes - he was unsuccessful. So, in my humble opinion - that road has been traveled - now on to bigger and better things for our citizens.

I also love how these law suits have been filed by 14 different states as to the "constitutionality" of this bill - little success in the courts has been predicted. Think back a few years - when the Bush/Cheney cabal decided we had no CIVIL rights or privacy expectations and literally changed the Constitution to suit their neo-con needs. Cheney went so far as to change the job description for the VICE PRESIDENT. Duh..............!!!!!

And....if anyone is wondering (hardly)...that "F" word that VP Biden whispered in the ear of the Prez was FUCK!! I mean honestly...watch the video - he whispered in the ear "farthest" from the microphone, and damn if that was one of the best mics in the world...and it picked that word right up! Sorry to burst all the virginal bubbles out there, but Biden was correct - he used the word quite aptly to describe the passage of this historic bill and the signing of said bill yesterday. And for those who were offended...get over your fuckin' selves.

Now, I read that the Ottawa (Canada) college which was sponsoring Ann Coulter as a speaker has cancelled the event for the she-man. It is so very funny to read Coulter's statements AGAINST these academicians and students - that she has lost the concept of the "tables being turned." She has no qualms denigrating the Muslims, Democrats, women and gays - but heaven forbid a group attacks her..............damn, wish I was there!

OK - it's a crazy day....tanned at 8 am, cardiac rehab at 9:30 am...cardiologist at 1 pm and an EKG at 2 pm. I may need some strong drugs after this day. I have been quite busy this tax season, plus making sure I get to my cardiac rehab exercise class three times a week - as well. thus, the blogging has been more than inconsistant, and for that I apologize. After April 15th I shall try to do much better.

This week may prove to be an historic one in nature - as the Health Care Reform Act may be passed (or not)! My fingers are crossed for a positive outcome. I have fallen asleep at night listening to the late night sessions being covered by C-Span, and as usual - the rethuglian trolls always manage to come away from the table sounding so moronic AND STUPID.

I love how the GnOP is yelling and shrieking and threatening a law suit against the "constitutionality" of the DEEM AND PASS possibilities. And for those who are hearing this over and over - it is NOT demon pass. Now, it was most certainly an OK thing to do during the dominant rethug years, but now that the tables are turned - it's whining time. The same goes for the reconciliation stance. That Mormon goof Orrin Hatch was on CNN this afternoon, almost gloating over the fact that should this bill go through - it WILL BE TESTED IN FRONT OF THE SUPREME COURT. Duh Orrin....when your party was chastised by the Dems and these same charges were taken to court - since you apparently have Alzheimer's - the courts said - FUGGEDABOUTIT!!

At this point in time - the vote is set for sometime Sunday afternoon - so we will have to wait and see. Granted, I am not 100% happy with this bill, but we have to start somewhere and once the initial steps are taken - then finessing this bill will come in time.

I'm truly sick and tired of the rethug talking heads (Limpdick, Beck and "makes me cringe" Malkin) deriding those who are speaking out for the Dems, about their own personal medical problems. As a rule, I never wish bad things on people, but a few disfiguring and amputatable (my new word) maladies could come to these aforementioned people and I would not shed a tear.

Now this bimbo is suing E-Trade for apparently "using her name" to further their product, without HER PERMISSION. WTF...she is actually extolling that her name "LYNDSAY" is right up there with Madonna and Oprah. Again, can anyone tell me the last time (or the first for that matter) when LL used only her first name as a promotion - for anything???? Good grief!

Personally, I enjoy the E-Trade commercials with the infants - and have yet, to this date, even remotely connected one of these children with a famous person. I abhor the fact that some people file such frivolous claims and tie up the court system, which cost us, the taxpayers, in the long run. There are definitely more important issues to be dealt with in this world than such trite garbage as this.

Now, I also read about a gentleman who passed away in June '09, and was still being billed for monthly service from Verizon. Apparently, being presented with his death certificate was not good enough to cease this service - the company wanted his PIN (personal identification number). Considering our PIN's are supposed to be private, I believe the nitwit lady at Verizon, that the daughter had to deal with, should have been SHOT! This dolt was laughing as she ended one conversation with the grieving daughter - and has since been dealt with by her superiors.

The situation has been settled, but does give many some food for thought - as how to deal with similar situations upon our demise. My kids know most of my passwords and my PIN's usually stay the same, but I can understand where some people hold these numbers closer to their vest. Just a goofy thought running through my head.

I started my tanning today - a whopping FOUR minutes in the bed. As I have stated, I have no vices left - so let me enjoy my tan and possible melanoma....LOL.

This has been a day from hell, and my desk (kitchen table) definitely reflects the chaos that ensued. Tomorrow is tanning at 8:30 am, off to Cardiac Rehab at 10:30 am....then nose to the grindstone and tax return time for the remainder of the day.

Well, the kitties shall enjoy the day I am sure. I'm not a very happy camper at the moment, hearing that Ben Roethlisberger may be involved in a "sexual assault." After listening to several reports on ESPN, it appears that this woman could very well trying to make a quick buck or headline, having been familiar with the insane case brought by a Las Vegas woman. I hope, deep in my heart that there is no truth to the story and that it is a resolved issue very soon. I will stand by whatever the "solid proof" may be.

I signed up for tanning yesterday - could be interesting to see how the new meds will affect my annual fake bake. Life is short, I will die of "something" - so pooh pooh on the health issues - I mean honestly, I gave up my 40 year smoking addiction, sex and drinking - what else is left for me?????????????

Theson is in Oswego, New York - the land of his daddy's whore - but he will be returning home soon for his next job in Brooksville, Florida on the 15th. He is getting back into the swing of things and his "sugar" numbers are coming down into great safe ranges. He has handled this entire situation rather well - as to giving himself injections, watching his carbs and food intake and READING LABELS. Yay Zac!!!

Back to the tax returns and running the vacuum. Mother's work is never done, maybe I can get thegrandson to help me a little. I already have a small list for the "house boy" on Monday.

My day starts with the motions of getting thegrandson ready and off to school - unless schools have been cancelled for the umpteenth time (due to snow)! Actually, I believe the school cancellations are over for this winter season as the temps are rising and the snow is melting - slowly with much thanks.

Thedaughter goes back to bed until time for her to head off to the land of "work", but once I get out of bed in the morning (usually between 5-6 am), I am up till nighttime.

Before starting on the days fill of tax returns - and gratefully, I am not far behind this year at all - sometimes with a 48 hour completion - I may get in a couple of games on the XBOX. I now have an "addiction" to Modern Warfare2. I'm not good by any stretch of the imagination - but I just may be headed to the loony bin, for my love of killing on this game. I honestly don't love killing the others, but it beats being killed by THEM!!

Yesterday, the phone rang constantly and clients came to pick up returns, so game time was truly not enjoyed - so I chose to work on the group of returns in front of me. I have to have background noise, be it TV or radio - and this day TV won out. BUUUUUUUUTTTT......for whatever reason the TV was on a channel I NEVER watch - VH1! Years ago I watched this channel along with MTV - when they actually were music channels - but that is not the case anymore.

Well, yesterday was a marathon of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." I have never even heard of this show before, but amazingly enough - I ended up watching - off and on - from 3 pm until 10:30 pm last night. GOOD GRIEF!!! Thus, I now have an OPINION on all these people and will share it here. Lucky you!

Dr. Drew Pinsky, has apparently had a radio show "lovelines" for many years, and had a former TV show relating to sex addictions. I personally, just thought he was another "doctor to the stars" in the past. He is soft spoken, rarely gets his ire up, and truly wants only the best for his patients. He is married with triplets - now there's a handful in life.

Now onto the patients...........what an eclectic bunch this is.

DENNIS RODMAN - former NBA player and general GOOF. Needless to say, I have never been a Rodman fan. He rose to fame quickly and maintained an air of arrogance and entitlement that truly pissed me off. He has exhibited/displayed his addiction to alcohol over the years, but during this show (three weeks) - he spent more time refusing to admit that he even HAD an addiction. Occasionally, he would reveal a softness to his heart, but he quickly covered that up, and reverted back to his cold demeanor. His wife stated, just before "graduation" from the program, that she would be seeking a divorce from this idiot.

HEIDI FLEISS - the former Hollywood Madam and paramour of Tom Sizemore (also a resident during this time frame of the addiction clinic). She spent time in a federal prison for her crimes, but upon release maintained her addiction to crystal meth. This woman has soooo many issues, but has put up a brick wall around herself and rarely lets anyone get close to her. I have a hard time watching this woman - and I know it has to do with THOSE LIPS!! WTF was that, a bad botox experiment?? Fleiss actually got pissed and "left" the program and headed back to Nevada, only to roll her vehicle four times, almost killing those with her, upon leaving. She did go back and complete the program with some prodding from the staff. I am sure she is back in Nevada, managing her laundromat and enjoying her solitude.

JOEY KOVAR - Now, I had never heard of this young man before, but apparently he was a reality show star (The Real World - Hollywood 2008) and carries a lot of baggage from his past home life. He rails at his mother a lot during the show, and what a bad mother she was, although he does credit her with trying to make up for all her wrongs - now. His addictions are many: alcohol, cocaine, ecstasy, meth and steroids. When this guy gets angry - watch out and run. That would be the "roid rage" I would imagine. This guy has his girlfriend "knocked up" and does not treat her all that great, as we overhear their phone conversations. By graduation time, I do see noticeable changes in this young man - but he still strikes me as highly volatile.

KARI AN PENICHE - Now this is the creature I would most want to THROTTLE!!! This little girl suffers from a huge case of I'M A PRINCESS syndrome, I have ever seen. Apparently she had been on Dr. Drew's other show about sex addictions prior to this little crystal meth problem. Unbelievably she was a former Miss United States Teen USA - a title she lost after nude pictures were discovered in Playboy (I think). She is rude, arrogant and has nothing to offer to society that I can discern. To all those older and wiser who offer her help - she treats them in such a condescending manner - I would never hesitate to lay one across her smart mouth!! Sorry little girl, I found NO REDEEMING QUALITIES to you, whatsoever. Enjoy your crystal meth!!!!

LISA D'AMATO - Another young lady I had never heard of - but is a former "America's Next Top Model". Her addictions were to alcohol and "any drug put in front of me." Her position in this show was not a huge one - and I can honestly say that any success she gains from the rehab should be a good one. She had a few moments of unhappiness with her fellow residents, but nothing major. Good luck Lisa.

MACKENZIE PHILLIPS - Now those of us who are "older", remember Mackenzie from "One Day At A Time" sitcom era. She was the older sister to Valerie Bertinelli, but could not finish the show with the original cast, due to her drug addictions which started at age ELEVEN! Good old dad managed to get her hooked on heroin and cocaine. Her father, John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas fame, was far from an iconic father. Now Mackenzie is finally verbalizing the years of incest and drug addiction - all brought into her life by this vile man. I admire her stalwart behavior now and how she faces her demons. She tried to be strong proponent of Kari Ann - but was treated worse than I would ever allow one to be treated. She handled herself well. Yes, I admire how Mackenzie has handled her burdens and the positive attitude she now exhibits for the future.

MIKE STARR - the original bassist for Alice in Chains and best friend to the late Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) who OD'd several years ago. this man seemed terribly withdrawn, constantly reliving, in his mind, the death of his friend. Even with the therapy provided to Starr, I have a bad feeling for the future of this man. I honestly do not think he can move past the tragedy of his friend and he may be doomed to repeat that tragedy. His addictions were many: methadone, cocaine, heroin, crystal meth and pot to mention a few. I wish him all the luck in the world, I just don't know how this will turn out for him.

MINDY MCCREADY - Former country singing star and oxycontin addict. She had such a painful past - as in not very lucky in picking the right man - and suffered brain damage from some of that abuse. She gave 1000% towards her recovery and I honestly feel that she is the ultimate success story. Having found out about the brain damage, and what future drinking or drug abuse could do to that condition - was a game changer I believe. She wholeheartedly supported her fellow patients and rarely said anything bad about anyone. Dennis Rodman actually became her strongest advocate.

TOM SIZEMORE - What can I say. I have always thought that he was one helluva actor, but the drugs began to own his soul. He enters rehab due to his addiction to crystal meth and clonopin. Seeing this man at this worst, makes it hard to believe that he turned out such wonderful performances in Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor or Black Hawk Down. He actually gave his heart and soul to this rehabilitation program and professed to move into Sober House after graduation to continue to improve his life. I hope that he sticks to this attitude and again makes some wonderful films for our enjoyment.

Now, hopefully that will be the LAST of my reality shows, as I truly despise most that are on the air. Too many drama queens out there - and truthfully - we have enough of those in our own lives.

Now, this retard - yes I said the word - and Mark Burnett are out shopping the idea of a DOCUDRAMA about Alaska and starring the Palin family, to all the mainstream networks. If there is a goddess out there, this plan will fall by the wayside.

After her illustrious appearance on the late night circuit...she then had the audacity to stop at a hotel which has set-ups for Oscar attendees and all the free swag that that entails. Her entire entourage acted like greedy backwoods rubes, by literally grabbing anything and everything that wasn't tied down. Tell me why would this woman even dare to think she was worthy of these offerings - FOR THEATRICAL PEOPLE!! I imagine that stardom has gone to her head since she is such a foremost political analyst for Faux News now.

Yes, it's "tax season" and my life is basically quite busy. BUT.....I managed to contract a nasty cold from thedaughter and have not been working as diligently as I should. Instead, I have been playing games on the X-Box with theson and watching the goofy G4 television channel. This would be the channel that has all the crazy Japanese competition shows and such.

Yesterday, we caught a show showing what was hot on the "meme" circuit, and it was THIS video. I laughed my ass off, which brings on the proverbial coughing jag and sometimes the need to change the underwear..........I'm just saying!!

I do believe this "epic bearded man" may have some psychiatric issues himself, but the black man - was just begging for an ass whipping - even though he stated multiple times he was going to put his "foot up your ass" to the elderly gent. Hmmmm....who's crying for mama now - and all he wants is the AMBER LAMPS!!! Cracked me up...........and more power to those who stand up to idiots like this.

Of course, the topper was this commercial. Theson and I must have laughed for a good while, and immediately he found this on the interwebs for me. Reminds me - I must check the apps on my phone.

Hmmmm.....apparently CPAC's straw poll produced a new front-runner for 2012 - in Ron Paul. I'm sure Mitt Romney who has led the poll for the past four years is rather upset...and poor Iquitarod Queen reflected a paltry third place showing with a very low percentage. Boohoo....I see a bunch of blowhards trying vigorously to dig out from the hole they are mired within.

Now, this guy, Ryan Sorba...the representative for California Young Americans For Freedom (could be a misnomer) - made a complete ASS of himself it would appear. After viewing this discriminating screed, I would imagine he runs in a circle of people, I would well avoid at any given time.

This rant against GOProud (he refers to as go pride) for being allowed to co-sponsor and host a booth at this event was totally uncalled for and in my humble opinion, a mouthful of GARBAGE!!

It would also appear that he tells a friend - that he now is no longer a friend...WTF is up with that? This guy is a total loser and fukktard.

Now, my only wish for the day....is that the lesbians at Smith College - organize and plot revenge against this moron (Note: I actually prefer the word RETARD).

To listen to the woman close out this tirade by repeating "Freedom of opinion" just galls me to no end as well. I have to get a couple of things off my chest, as the burden of not venting MY OPINION is becoming too great.

Tiger Woods....OK - he fucked up royally. One thing I cannot stand is a "cheater", since I was married to one for most of my wedded life. But, the problem is his, not ours. Now, everyone is picking apart his televised apology from yesterday. I say, "get over yourselves" and let the man deal with his ginormous mess. Will his marriage survive? That question is between his wife Elin and himself. The end result may not be what we would choose - but his life is not ours. As the role model the media allowed him to be...he did owe an apology, I truly believe. But all this media frenzy will still be available for his children to see as the years progress.

Gloria Allred (the Hollywood attorney), has always been right up front, fighting for the rights of the downtrodden women. I do believe she has crossed a line, now sitting beside one of Woods' concubine (a porn star), saying his apology "isn't enough." WTF does she want...she's a porn star for chrissakes. I fail to see the difference between exhibiting every little inch of your body for millions to view, and having a shack-session with a mega star. This porn star is no more broken-hearted than the man in the moon - so scurry away little glory hound - your 7 and a half minutes of fame are up. Grrrrr...........what losers - and now they just want to try and cash in on Tiger's billions. Sorry girls, I would imagine Elin will benefit better than you.

Now we have Andrea Fay Friedman. She is such a lovely young lady, and I have seen her act in several TV shows - and have always been totally impressed. She gave her voice to a character on Family Guy this past week, and the character, like herself, suffered from Down Syndrome.

Now comes the Iquitarod Queen (I borrowed this title from a Huffpost commenter) to squawk her outrage on Faux news - in defense of HER SON TRIG!!! Andrea finally came out with her own reaction to Palin - stating that she essentially had a hard time with a mom who would carry her "special needs" son around like a sack of potatoes - all for her own glory and promotion. (I paraphrased here.) Andrea, is 39 and in my opinion very intelligent, which has shown through in her televised appearances. She also refers to Family Guy as "sarcasm."

I agree with the sarcasm, but where IQ has stated before that Rush has been held to a different standard (using the "retard" word over 40 times in his raging "satire"), but apparently all that ice snow and lack of daylight in Alaska, has done permanent damage to the brain of Palin - since she totally misses the fact that FAMILY GUY IS SATIRE - Rush Limbaugh is just an asshole with a mouth!! OMG - the pain in my head just increases with the insanity.

....Yevgeny Plushenko (Russian 2006 Gold medalist in ice skating), please just go away and go home to your lover Vladimer Putin. Apparently, you fail to see how nasty your landings were on the ice - even though you did do a QUAD (worth 9.8 points) - open your eyes and catch how many triple-toes Lycacek did in the last half of his program........DUDE - EACH ONE IS WORTH 9.5 POINTS - do the math!! It seems a bit strange to me that Valentine's Day has fallen on a Sunday, as if this has never happened before. In the past it has been just a day when you have made a fancy box - for the kids or grandchildren to take to school - and collect cards, cookies and candy.

Granted, a married couple will sometimes have the "dinner out", and lovers will either choose this date as a great day to get married or engaged. Personally - I hope everyone has an enjoyable day, no matter the circumstances. Share hugs and laughter and make memories.

I will chase down thegrandson and smother him with hugs and kisses and he will obligingly wipe off his face with a cursory YUK!!! But since he was the first to utter those words today........everyone have a......................

This past weekend was the weekend from hell. I was looking forward to having a quiet weekend and watching the Super Bowl - but we had other issues to deal with.

Theson had been feeling quite tired and exceedingly thirsty for days, so I made him an appointment with our family doctor (I suspected diabetes), and he voluntarily fasted, in case labs would be prescribed. Good call there.

We hurried home from the hospital, stopping at the grocery store for last minute items, since we were expecting a huge snowstorm. By the time we got in the house, there was a message on the answering machine from the doc...his sugar levels were dangerously high and he recommended that he get back to the ER as soon as possible. Theson was considered "totally dry" and needed to be re-hydrated - at least four liters of fluids.

Since the snow was already falling and it was possible that he would be admitted, he drove himself over to the hospital. He called me as soon as he got there, and the waiting began. After three hours, he called and said they were probably admitting him - ON AN INSULIN DRIP. Now I become the worried mother, which I do so very well.

It never fails, you never want something so bad, as when you can't have it....in other words, the snow was accumulating rapidly, and I knew I couldn't drive to the hospital to see my son - and the anguish sets in as well. He was being admitted to ICU - as that is the protocol for one on such an IV infusion. (His other option was pediatrics - he balked). Patients do not have phone's in ICU, but he was allowed to use his cell, since he truly wasn't incapacitated...but as luck would have it, he didn't have a phone charger with him and the phone died by late evening.

To make a long story short, he is now home, my neighbor did take me over Sunday to see him (relief), and now he is on an insulin regimen at home. This is all new to us, but he is doing real well.

I got to watch the Super Bowl with thegrandson (thedaughter was at work), and I was texting three different people during the entire game - just shoot me now. I was quite happy with the Saints win - and that BALLSY ONSIDE KICK!!

But the apex of the weekend had to be listening to the bits and pieces of Palin's Teaparty speech (couldn't pay me enough for a speech by her in its entirety)!! I must love pain to even consider turning the channel.

I can assure everyone, her intelligence quotient has not risen any since I last posted about her. Hell, she has even re-invented her own palm-prompter! As for the "hopey - changey thing" she referenced....I still have hope and change is downright necessary.

As for her getting irate over the "retard" comments...I say GET A FUCKING GRIP!!! She should actually open the dictionary and read the definition of the word. It means "slow" and that is not derogatory, just factual. Sarah Palin, from the bottom of my heart...YOU ARE retarded. Without your palm prompter and speech writers (bad ones at that), your word salads should be coherant - hasn't happened yet! Colbert handles all this quite well here:

Now, for opinion time. Being the football junkie that I am, and past postings have acknowledged - Super Bowl XLIV will be airing a week from tomorrow - with ALL the "over the top" expensive commercials that that entails. I'm sure most people have heard about the Focus on the Family $3million ad featuring Tim Tebow and his mother - a 60 second PRO-LIFE commercial at that.

First, I am not a Tim Tebow fan...I think he is a pussy! The fact that his mother was told to abort him, so many years ago - should remain a personal matter and NOT one to be aired by FOF via the Super Bowl.

A good many people watch the Super Bowl for "commercials" alone - to either get a good laugh, or feel the impact of a possible new purchase. Politically motivated agendas SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO AIR during this time.

How about this...if these cash strapped people desire money over ideology......then allow ads countering the view to appear as well. Ahhhh...but that wouldn't work would it? The religious right must have $$$$ hidden all over the place that they just don't know what to do with, so choosing a sporting venue seemed like a GREAT idea!

Now, I read that Sarah Palin (GAG) has opened her mouth on this issue as well. She feels that an ad such as this should "empower" women, and can't understand why NOW is against the commercial. Can I say DUH loud enough here? "Sarah dear....women are already empowered enough, to realize that you are so out of touch, and you have no clue of what comes running out of your mouth!"

And by the way....a gay dating commercial was REJECTED by the powers that be, for the Super Bowl. Talk about fucked up agendas.

My preference.............NO POLITICAL ADS DURING SUPER BOWL............NO IDEOLOGICAL OR THEOLOGICAL COMMERCIALS DURING SUPER BOWL!!!

Theson received a call yesterday alluding to his leaving today for Spain for a two month job. By last evening that particular job had been filled, but he will more than likely leave this week sometime for a different job, also in Spain.

I have enjoyed having him home and helping me so much since I chose to have my heart attack in November. (Nahhh, I didn't really choose that.) We have accomplished some cleaning chores around the house, had so many laughs...these are what I miss most when he is gone. Although we Skype regularly (when is in a foreign places), it can be fun - but getting the hugs while he is home are far better. But I'm not selfish...he needs to do what he does best!

Mary Landrieu's phones in the FEDERAL building in her home state. Hello young morons....can you say FEDERAL OFFENSE????

This young man (or idiot) has been floating around on the notoriety he gained when he acted as a PIMP, and catching ACORN employees in illegal acts last year. Considering he was an immediate FAUX news idol and made the circuit of all their brain dead shows - apparently this stardom "went to his head." Or could O'Keefe honestly believe that the Faux resources will save his ass, no matter the illegal act undertaken???

It is still questionable as to whether O'Keefe is an employee of Andrew Breitbart (biggovernment(dot)com) or an independent contractor of sorts. Breitbart still runs his conservative websites from his basement, but has certainly made a name for himself - by his relations with all the Faux people, Dennis Miller, Matt Drudge, etc... Now Breitbart is saying that he is paying O'Keefe for his "life issues" or some such drivel.

The attorney's statement is what I found so ridiculous. Must be from Attorney Speak for Client Class 101..."remember to turn the tables and sound stupid." MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I also find fault in the staff of this Federal building, that credentials were not requested immediately from these cretins.

Everyone has heard by now (I'm sure) that Robert Flanagan is the son of the acting U.S. Attorney for Louisiana, Bill Flanagan. Flanagan was the first assistant under Dubya's appointee Donald Washington. (**Obama has already appointed a nominee for this position.)

I was going to post the youtube video of the "pimp" at ACORN, but the site is not loading for me at the moment. Seeing O'Keefe, as he leaves court I believe, state "the truth shall set me free" - makes me wonder......would that be the fair and balanced truth of his favorite news idols????? Right...........

I am looking forward to the SOTU speech tonight...and would like to think that this could be a turning point for Obama, and he gets a backbone and stands up to the rethugs. I, like many have been disappointed in his spinelessness (is that a word?) these past many months. Don't get me wrong...I do realize that this country, economically was in a free fall when he was inaugurated. The loss of jobs was inevitable whether some will admit that or not. Can anyone imagine where we would be, if BUSH was still in office? Or how he would handle the catastrophe at hand? That gives way to some scary scenarios.

I will be quite interested in how this case fares in the courts. I believe convictions are in order and a little jail time for these morons - how about you?

That would be the ENTIRE cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore". The primary cast members are seen here (above) and one would probably never meet more shallow individuals in their lives. The little pipsqueak female, Snookie, probably irritates me more than most, as she has this PRINCESS COMPLEX(as do all the female cast members), no doubt attributed to by her even more shallow parents and family.

These media moguls put these characters on the TV and the ratings go through the roof - but to what end?? The kids today fantasize about living their lives vicariously through these simple people, the Paris Hilton's, Nicole Ritchie's and now the Italian Jersey folks. Please note I have nothing against Italians nor those people from New Jersey - but in my heart, I believe those who reside in New Jersey of Italian descent should be totally insulted.

These kids (in early 20's) come across as little tramps and whores. Their lives consist of getting drunk, laid and finding someone with MONEY. Heaven forbid - education issues are ever in the dialogue.

Now that their first season is complete on MTV....the cretins now want $10,000 an episode. They are collecting that much for personal appearances at this time. I would imagine their next demand would be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I have only seen two episodes of these little ingrates and their antics - and trust me, that was only because of my curiosity complex. Holy bear shit - I need to set my sights higher on viewing content.

I go to Facebook, and I see these young kids (high school) and catch some of their conversations, and they can't put a comprehensible sentence together, let alone spell correctly. This does not bode well for future generations, who may be in control of this country some day.

Theson and I were taking in a "Star Trek Generations" marathon on Syfy yesterday when this ad appeared...and we immediately started laughing so hard and began a diatribe on "what will they come up with next?"

I compared this little kitchen gadget to a pet rock and a few other "gimmicks" that have been presented to the unsuspecting public in the past. I have to say - I LOVE kitchen gadgets, although I do not cook as much as I once did - but this little item seems ridiculous.

COMPASSION IN HAITI...............

I have to say, I am NOT glued to all the coverage on the disaster in Haiti, but I catch reports regularly on CNN (of course my channel of choice). Last night I was totally floored when this clip was shown of Anderson Cooper - carrying a bloody child to safety.

When this tragedy struck on Jan. 12th, CNN had Anderson Cooper on the ground and running long before any other network. Apparently CNN was not shooting any footage when they finally caught Cooper, at first assisting this boy away from the fighting - only to start the cameras and catch the final steps - of getting this boy over the barricades into a "safe" area. I, for one, truly appreciate the "compassion" shown by Cooper, as a man - not as a reporter in this instance.

At this point in time - one week after the event - the logistical nightmare has begun. Over $200 million has been donated, one way or another, supplies are on their way to these people in need - but the chaos has already ensued.

To say there has ever been a cohesive government in place in this country would be an understatement. After listening to the current President speak the other night, I was less than impressed. In my humble opinion, there needs to be some form of marshaling the peoples, to avoid the damage and injuries from those just trying to survive, i.e., looting, assault to gain food or drink, finding loved ones, etc.

As in any tragedy of this magnitude, where monies are being collected at such an incredible rate...the option for scamming comes into play. I should only hope that the Red Cross has their shit together this time and can coordinate a program to help these people. The RC has managed to fuck up assistance programs before - all while collecting exorbitant salaries for the "administration".

I was less than happy when Obama appointed "W" to work with Bill Clinton on this project - we remember how he congratulated "Brownie, for a wonderful job", during Hurricane Katrina....arghhhh! Maybe Bill will just backhand the twerp when he gets a thought of just "popping off!" Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

Theson has been visiting a friend in Colorado since Thursday and will be returning home late tonight - so I am hoping to get him back to posting on Past the Velvet Rope. It's my fault he had to take an unexpected absence - since I had my little heart episode. He has been a rock and so very helpful to me since all the drama unfolded. Unfortunately, his employer may be sending him overseas in the near future. I guess he can't play forever.

I am doing "cardiac rehab", which essentially involves gym equipment and keeping one's heart rate in acceptable ranges. I have participated in this program numerous times - so it has been like "old home week." I can do very little upper body exercise, as I have a torn/pulled muscle in my right shoulder, so I do laps on the track, treadmill and bicycle. Slowly but surely, I'm getting my strength back.

Theson has hired a young man to assist me around the house - with the heavier things that need done. We figured about ten hours a week would work for both of us. He should be quite helpful in cleaning the basement that I have been ignoring (actually just non-motivated) and getting the remaining Christmas decorations put away. There will be several "dump" runs involved as well. The tough part, is that I have a hard time sitting back while someone works around me. I just need to get in the thick of things, as it were.

I feel good right now - but the doctor told me last week that he is looking at possibly having me get a pacemaker placed in a few months. I am sooooo not looking forward to anymore invasive procedures. We will take this day by day.

On December 28, 2005, I started this blog site. My son, had had Nomadic Tendencies (his site) up for quite awhile, and it was a great way for us to stay in touch, and for me to share the events of his travels around the world.

At that time, I was not satisfied with my job (only to quit 6 months later), and I found that being able to "vent", whether anyone else even read the damn thing, was very cathartic.

Initially, I just wanted the page to look nice, and not sound stupid. Most of my readers at that time were my son, his friends, and my very best friend. Actually, it wasn't being utilized for profit or fame - just for me!

As the months passed, theson helped me learn how to place pictures on the site, embed videos and various other tactics. He helped get a stat counter, and even showed me where I could get various polls to run on the site. So as time passed, I literally GREW with my site.

I just have to give credit where credit is due - and that is to theson for giving me an escape mechanism - one that I have have hours and hours of fun with as well.

The politics, stories of the moments, big news item of the day...whatever...trust me, I have had had fun with this site.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Holiday Season and that 2010 will be a great year for us all!

SINCE NOV. 19TH, MY LIFE TOOK A ROLLER COASTER RIDE OF GARGANTUAN PROPORTIONS.

I thank thedaughter for all her updates here and on Facebook, and for the wonderful thoughts headed in my direction.

I still cannot talk well, after being on a vent for so many days, my stamina is less than a newborn as well. I have made some progress ordering Christmas presents online....but shopping for my children is going to be the problem.

We celebrated our Thanksgiving - Wednesday evening, so our family present exchange may be a few days later as well. My vision has been affected by all the meds they have seen fit to put into my body - and I am now a complete nervous wreck. Other than that I am fine.

I WILL NOT BE DISCUSSING POLITICS (THIS IS KILLING ME) TILL AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR. thedaughter thinks I should absolutely stop all political opinions - which is sooooo not happening.

I will be trying to get back to some regular posting in 2010, but need this time now to recuperate.

Have a wonderful HOLIDAY SEASON ALL!!! I am putting an ocassional update on Facebook, but honestly have limited strength to stay online for long periods right now.

I am sorry I haven't posted sooner. I have been most of the post to facebook via cell phone. As of right now mom has been on a vent after having problems breathing after her endoscopy Wednesday, they call it rapid pulimary edima. Since then she has also developed pneumonia. With the anitbiotic running the last few days on a drip and the fluids coming off her chest quite well, they did a test today and stopped the vent to see if she could breathe on her own, and she could. As a precaution they are keeping her on the ven tfor one more night and going to try to take her off it in the morning. After that we play it by ear. They will then try to determine what caused the rapid pulminary edima and then they will move on to the heart. I will keep you updated as much as I can.

First of all, I want to say thanks to all of you have responded and sent your thoughts and prayers. I have realized in the last 2 days how many wonderful friends my mom truly has. You guys are all great. For Utah Savage, Themom wanted me to inform you of her situation because you are in contact alot more than most.

Status: Still unstable. Now they think she has an Upper GI bleed but they are treating it like an ulcer because she isn't stable. They can not do any procedures until they can get her stable. They did find 2 leaky valves that can be repaired but they again have to wait. I have been there 8 hours a day to make sure the nurses are not over dosing her. I walked in once and they gave her one medication and 20 minutes late they came into give her the exact same meds. If I wasn't there they would have over dosed her. NOw we just wait. I was able to get ahold of Theson. He is now well informed so I would like to thank John who found him Past the Velvet Rope. You were a big help and greatly appreciated. As for now I am out. I have to get some sleep. I will keep you up to date as I get updated. Again Thanks to everyone!!!

In the hospital

This is the daughter posting for themom. I hate to bring bad news to her blog but yesterday we took themom to the hospital for chest pains. At that time we were informed that we got there before she had a heart attack but they wanted to keep her overnight. At 6am I received a phone call from a nurse saying she was in major pain all night and they wanted me aware of it. Apparently when they call me she had already had a full blown heart attack. They did a cath today and found 1 of the valves they replaced 6 years ago failed. At the same time when they put the guide wire in to implant a stent they realized the valve was full of blood clots and they were forming around the guide wire. They sucessfully removed the guide wire but now fear a clot may have escaped so they are now watching her for stroke. I will keep everyone updated on her situation and she will be back and blogging soon.

SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE......

I have to question - what is wrong with our military that a single-mother, Alexis Hutchinson, now faces a court martial trial IN AFGHANISTAN, for her failure to show up for deployment. Her reasoning as it appears in this article, from this mother's viewpoint, is a valid point.

Does the military NOT try to aid these people, in ensuring that their offspring will be well cared for during these long periods of deployment?

It appears to me, that this woman was not necessarily trying to avoid service in a foreign country, but that she was worried about what may be best for her child. From the article, her grandmother is already caring for other family members, and the burden both financially and physically may be too overwhelming for this woman - and this was the catalyst for her failure to deploy.

The males in the military rely on their wives to take care of all situations in the home during their deployment, but the onus on a single-mother is much greater.

My major question here is...why would the military even consider trying this woman in a court IN Afghanistan? Why not handle judicial proceedings in the United States? Granted, the theater of war is abroad, but the "crime" for which she is charged, took place in this country.

I do not presume to know military law, but I understand common sense. Of course, that is an assumption on my part, that the two can be inter-mixed. There could be details which we are not privvy to, but I do not see that this woman chose to go AWOL, or run away from her obligation. She ran into a last minute quandry, plain and simple, and received NO assistance from her superiors whatsoever.

Are the lines so rigid in the military, that accomodations cannot be made or offered to this woman to make her deployment easier?

On a similar note, Liz Cheney on Sunday, ran off at the mouth again, declaring how our POTUS, was leaving our men in Afghanistan without the resources to fight and protect, by delaying decisions on SENDING MORE TROOPS! Hey Liz....you little offspring warmongering idiot..........we need to get our troops OUT of Afghanistan....period. It is a war we cannot win, and to continue to put these young lives on the line for a futile war is insane. The day that Liz and daddy Dick put on fatigues, strap on a gun and head to a war zone...is when I may reconsider this position (maybe)!

I should hope that this situation is cleared up amicably and fairly for this young woman. We will have to wait and see I guess.

I watched the interview of the young boy who refuses to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance last night, and I have to say, I am impressed. This articualte young man has a valid point and by taking advantage of his rights under the Constitution...has definitely made his feelings known.

He has proven that he is a wise young man and has the ability to "stand by his convictions." In reciting the Pledge daily, these young children, as a rule, have no idea what the Pledge even means. They have learned this quote by rote - and missed the meaning altogether. Except for this one young man.

Maybe he will start a movement among other children who are free thinkers as well. Do I think that any adults will follow suit or agree? Some possibly. For me, I'm with ya buddy....till all citizens, gay, bisexual, transgender, etc., are given equal status under the law - no Pledge of Allegiance!

I, for one, am not rushing out to buy a book, promoted by one person, yet written entirely by another. In this case, it would be that self aggrandizing, self absorbed narcissist Palin. Having scoured the interwebs, I have found enough "bits and pieces" to drive a sane person to felonies!

Anyone remember the Cliff Notes of old? My opinion is that a version needs to be written, and it wouldn't need to kill too many trees for publication either. Palin's "life story" or memoirs cannot take up that many pages, unless one colorfully doctors and interprets the words given. (As if that would ever happen!)

I stated on this blog a few weeks back, about the homophobe Lynn Vincent, who was contracted to author this book - and now other venues have jumped on that same bandwagon, by exposing her past works and how she perpetuates this homophobic thought throughout other works.

With all these bits and pieces being aired prior to the official release of this book - it is apparent that SP has put her SPIN on the truth....again! John McCain's aides, who have been literally ripped to shreds by Caribou Barbie, are fighting back on her distortions and lies.

I have no intentions of purchasing or reading this book at all. I believe we saw her ineptitude and ignorance on the campaign trail last fall - that was more than enough for me. Also, I don't think I could live with myself knowing that I, in some way, managed to put $$$ in her pockets!

All the news outlets are having a great time with this venture of hers, and possibly believe that she is actually a qualified candidate in future Pres/VP elections. I think not. She hasn't grown a bigger brain or honest knowledge of world affairs or even the affairs of this nation, since that time.

I'm am always amazed at those who think she is the "next best thing since sliced bread." My words of wisdom to those sycophants......keep it up! Back her through any and all elections, because it makes a democratic win so much easier.

I apologize for being absent these past few days. Being the nibshot that I am, I just had to stalk the movie crews and get some pics and videos. The downside to all this, was that there was NO ONE to do the housework during that time. So I have been catching up on the laundry, dusting, and even washed some walls yesterday. (If anyone has seen the floor scrubbing fairy...let me know!)

I have read everyone's blogs on my Google Reader, but there are so many, I did not leave any comments. Hopefully I will be all caught up very soon. Please, please, bear with me! It truly amazes me how far behind I get on everything - just because I wanted to go out and play for a little while.....curses!!!

Theson is now in Jordan, and will be home on the 28th, so I have to get his room cleaned and organized...and I actually want to start putting up some Christmas stuff, so I can have time to enjoy it all. I have brought my snowmen up from the basement, and will be placing them around the house in the next couple of days, so I will just do all this in baby steps.

Time to check homework and plan something for dinner...damn, my work is NEVER done!!

Radaronline has a new article posted, which may blow the lid off this holier than thou - beauty pageant, agent of God's - whole innocent spin on her life!

Imagine that, more videos have surfaced that are not (my assumption) of the quality to be shown in church. And this nimrod had the nerve to say on national TV, that the one video was "the one biggest mistake of my life." Caught ya - didn't they?????

In her newly released book Carrie wrote, “God gave us our bodies, and it’s perfectly right that we use them in ways where we can give glory to God by making our bodies, our temples of the Holy Spirit, strong and fast.”

I would love to know if Prejean came up with this quote on her own, or was spoon fed the dictation from her religious icons and/or Sarah Palin (now that they are best buds). My money is on Palin, as that is one word salad I would not like to hear again.

Her little vanity act on Larry King the other night was probably one of the biggest jokes I have ever seen. She literally dissed LK, when asked fairly innocuous questions, by telling LK he was being "inappropriate!" WTF is up with that. there was nothing inappropriate whatsoever - she bared all to Sean Hannity the night before on his show - oh I forgot, they are both dimwits and have a bond. Silly me.

Theson, on his weekly Past the Velvet Rope post, has also REJECTED Prejean. Theson is so intuitive. How ironic, that Hannity was rejected as well. No surprise there.

On my Caturday post, I added the video of the Miss South Carolina Teen 2007...and like Prejean, she probably will be in future pageants....and no doubt will not have gained any NEW brain cells by that time. I give these beauty pageant contestants very little thought, as most prove to be either very shallow or dumb...or both!

OK Carrie Prejean....it is time for you to fade away and stop pretending to be something you are not! I have had enough of your fake sanctimonious attitude.

As if that title comes as a shock to many. Supposedly today, there will be protest in Danville, VA, and the "tea partiers" are going to burn Nancy Pelosi and Dem. Rep. Perriello in effigy.

This is a stunt pulled in foreign countries and I find it hardly acceptable here in the US. This past week we have heard how the extreme right wingers have jumped the bandwagon in declaring Nidal Hassan a "terrorist" - long before ALL the facts have been uncovered. I state here and now - that burning someone in effigy is a TERRORIST ACT.

Where do these idiots draw the line? If a Democrat walks by, are they going to soak them in gasoline and set fire to them? They can pop off all they want about "freedom", but they are the ones infringing on the Constitution and freedom of others.

Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that these right wingnuts are intellectually lazy and find it more beneficial to just lie and distort the facts for their own purposes. Just try having an intelligent conversation with one of these people...there is no give or even a hint of wavering. New facts or data mean absolutely nothing to these people.

"Have you read the bill?" I ask ever so nicely. "Well no, but my representative says...blah, blah, blah!" the ability to learn for oneself is far too much to ask of these people.

If I hear one more time that the Dems aren't practicing bipartisanship - I may just slip a disk. C'mon, welcome to the real world. The Republicans have put up a brick wall, offered no bipartisanship, been the obstructionist party on each and every proposal. I don't foresee a change in that area any time soon.

At one time I may have been worried about the GOP, but at the present time - I AM NOT!! This party is on the path of destruction - and it is all from within their party. The idols of the party, pretty much speak for themselves. The Palin's, Bachmann's, Foxx's, King's, McCain's, etc....Collectively, I'm not sure that as a whole this group could compile an entire brain!

With this group declaring that today is going to be the day of the Pelosi effigy burning, I have to wonder what's next. Possibly we will see people being tarred and feathered, as in the past.

This group needs to learn that THEY have to open their minds, quit being the defiant ones and work as a whole to improve our lives. Until that time, they will remain the party of DUMB.

The progressives are not the "haters" in this arena...it would be the obstinate rethugs. This is what truly gets under my skin, and bringing the act of burning a person in effigy is, as I stated before, an act of terrorism, and I do not and never will, condone such an act.

OK - heading into town - to see what is going on, on this last day of filming in our town. The film crew will be heading to the "next town" north of us (Martins Ferry) for another week of shooting, then farther north to Mingo Junction. This has been interesting and fun, and since I have thegrandson today, he might enjoy some of the events of the day.

JUST STUFF......I'VE BEEN BUSY?!?!?!

So much to talk about, and so very little time. I have been trying to achieve a new goal....official paparazzi of Bellaire, Ohio!! This has involved a lot of standing around idly, gabbing with friends and even newer friends.

On average, I have spent at least five hours a day, trying to get some good shots of all the action scenes. Not being naive to this process, I realize that a good portion of what is being filmed here in our fair burg, will be left on the cutting room floor. I'm just "into" the mechanics and mundane.

The upside to having these film people in town, is that I get to leave the house with a purpose. I have almost become a hermit over the past two years, and to be honest, the fresh air was great. I know my computer probably enjoyed the break. (I know the family did)!

Of course, all this doesn't mean I haven't received my daily dose of "goings on" in the world. I would have preferred to MISS Carrie Prejean and her Christian snootiness. Apparently it was just fine to go on Hannity and bare her soul and exhort her mea culpas - for the masturbating video she sent to a former boyfriend, but when confronted by Larry King - she told this icon that he was being "inappropriate" and proceeded to end the interview. Where does one go with this woman, in a discussion? I would prefer to head to the nearest bathroom and barf!!

Honestly, I've not missed a damn thing news-wise and rest assured, my opinion will be expressed as soon as I am done stalking. On Wednesday, I got into a political discussion with a client while waiting for a scene to be shot. All was going well till she said "you know why I don't like Obama?" (dumbfounded look on my face). "Because he never proved he was an American citizen." Whoa!!! I essentially told her "I'm not going there!" As much as I would like to have sent her shriveled, wrinkled body flying - I just walked away. (It's never a good thing to piss off a client!)

With that note - I am curious if she has read that Orly Taitz will probably lose her law license because she lied and manipulated the courts and witnesses???

THE BIG DEBATE??? DAMN BLOWHARDS....

Last night, I again managed to channel surf right to FAUX NOISE, just in time to watch BillO, Allan Colmes and a female argue the point of the Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Hassan.

I must say that Alan Colmes finally showed some backbone and argued against the BS rhetoric coming from the other two.

The argument (debate hah!) centered around Nidal Hassan and that our President has refused to use the words "terrorist" or "terrorism". One might choose to call this man a homegrown terrorist, by the deed alone, as he is a U.S. citizen, raised in our country.

I, for one, am impressed that our Prez has chosen not to make that correlation, this early in the investigation. Considering preliminary reports surfaced that this man was upset about his deployment to Iraq...and for all we know, there may have been other underlying reasons for him to "snap."

BillO was having no parts of the argument that this man was mentally imbalanced, simply because the right-wing conspiracy mentality, only allows for stupid quick judgements. Judgements to instill fear in the masses of Americans. That would be similar to the lies and fear mongering enhanced by Bush/Cheney.

Look where we are at the moment. Thousands of troops still in Iraq. Thousands more are in Afghanistan with additional troops being requested. Young lives being lost daily, in these senseless battles. Japan, Korea, Germany, all still house our troops in bases set up during the cold war. Money flying out of the government's coffers (yours and my tax dollars), to maintain our troops...for what? We can't win a war in Pakistan/Afghanistan. Iraq will eventually go back to their warring ways - this is the cycle for these middle eastern countries - hundreds of years of history have proven that fact.

It's time to bring our troops home, every last one of them. The senseless deaths have to stop. I understand the obstacles presented by the neocons...without the fear and wars they have started - they would be a force to be reckoned with, as it were.

Strange how those on the right, never state that those who shoot/kill abortion doctors or bomb abortion clinics - are terrorists. John Muhammad, who was executed last night (the D.C. Sniper), was never referred to as a terrorist. The shootings at college campuses - those responsible were never labeled terrorists. I could go on and on, but I think the point has been made.

As for Nidal Hassan, the crime he has committed is an atrocity. Personally, until I see evidence to the contrary, I believe he just "snapped." The government was aware of his communications, i.e. e-mails and such, but saw nothing alarming apparently. Could the government have gone farther in their investigations prior to this shooting - possibly. But hindsight is a completely different perspective.

The right wingers choose to jump on their "terrorist" bandwagon, simply because he is Muslim. They have painted a picture in their followers minds, that ALL Muslims are the enemy and want to kill us. That is just not true. Granted there are those who take on the bastion of jihadism - but again, that description cannot be given to all Muslims. My take on that spin - is that because they (Muslims) don't adhere to the "word of God" they have to be evil. These are the Christians who believe that their God is the only God - which would take me into an entirely different topic - so enough said.

I'm off to town soon, to stalk the movie filming again. There are still some pics I intend to try and take.

RANDOM PICS...AREA BEING FILMED!

Traffic in this little burg has been far worse than anyone was told to expect. there are cops on every street corner, and traffic is being halted in 15 minute intervals - and some people are on the verge of "road rage" I do believe. Small business owners and banks surrounding the area of the train tracks, were assured that their businesses would not be compromised, but some headaches have arisen. The Family Dollar store situated directly by the spot where the "train supposedly derails", has had to close. Hmmmm....interesting.

This arched stone bridge is in the Historical Register due to age and style. the train bridge in the forefront actually "Y's" off the main arch structure.

Although this train track/trestle has not been used in many years, and allowed to overgrow with weeds, it is still a magnificent structure.

This open lot (called the pipe yards) has been allowed to grow over as well, but the film crews have cleared it for their purposes, and my understanding is that the train will "derail" into this lot. There are spots marked with florescent orange paint - so we will see what happens here.

The runaway train will be coming across this steel bridge east to west (right to left), which is an extension of the stone arch bridge.

This is our old toll bridge, which was used in the film Silence of the Lambs. It has been closed since 1991, and that signal,ed the demise of our fair little town. It's not being used in this film.

Big circus like tents have been set up in the baseball fields, just .2 mile from my house, and a dozen tractor trailers have taken over the parking lot to the high school football field. I can't remember the last time there was this much activity in this town.

Chris Pine (from latest Star Trek movie) is staying at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, WV., and filming his part at the present time. Denzel Washington is still filming in the Pittsburgh area and should be here the end of this week or beginning of next week.

Thedaughter and I are going to see if we can get some better pictures later this evening, and I'm sure thegrandson will enjoy that excursion.

Theson sent me an email of his itinerary - and he should arrive home on November 28th. He is going to do some sight-seeing in Jordan (which I am not overly excited about) and then to visit a former co-worker in Spain before coming back to the U.S. I am so looking forward to seeing him - it's been almost 11 months - and I'm a worrying mother to boot.

I'm going to finish up some laundry now....so have a great afternoon.

SOMETIMES, WE ARE NOT SANE~!!!

The old saying "laughter is the best medicine", is one we more or less live by. Much like any "normal" household, there are ups and downs, happiness and sadness...but in this house - humor has always been a definite mainstay.

I took this picture last Thursday of thegrandson, as he came to me in the kitchen, saying "I'm ready for school." Of course he is...everyone wears their gloves on their FEET!!!

But THIS....is our latest ongoing project. Looks like the real thing, huh??? Nope, just a simple cut-out. As part of an insurance promotion it was included in the local newspaper, and I chose to cut it out, and place it around the house - to SPY on everyone.

Thegrandson has had a blast, placing it on his mom's bed, on the nightstand, bathroom counter, etc...., all the while singing "Somebody's Watching Me!"

I have to go in town later, but thedaughter just called me and said that the FILMING of the movie Unstoppable, has begun. According to her, there are MANY police cars with lights on - but not those belonging to this town....they are for the film.

Apparently, we won't be extras, as no one has called...we must be just too old and fat for the celluloid!! Oh well, I'm determined to get in town later this evening also, to get some pictures. Efforts are being made to see if Denzel Washington will visit my quadriplegic friend....I may HAVE to visit at that time as well.

The upside is the brief economic boost to our cash poor town. Filming was pushed back a week, because of bad weather in the Pittsburgh area which caused some delays.

Years ago, while theson was attending Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, the movie "Air Force One", was shooting some scenes on their campus. I will have to have theson recall the events of that time, as he and his buddies managed to cause some headaches during the shooting there. As a note, the opening scene to that movie, was all that was filmed there. I believe it is the Library building that the parachutists land on, in the opening scenes.

Well, time to get thegrandson off to school, and I may try to grab a little more sleep, then begin to plot my strategy of getting into town. I'm sure I will be back later today, so have a great one all.

Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) has posted this video, and it pretty well sums up my feelings, although I often use more colorful language.

Now how long do you think it will be before Bachmann makes THAT APOLOGY????? Can you actually see that happening? Honestly, because of her mental insufficiency's - she will still be smiling tomorrow, whilst reading up on her Book of Creationism - and feel she owes NO ONE an apology.

Her phones, fax machines and e-mails should be piling up with angry responses from FREEDOM LOVING AMERICANS. Democrats, Independents, Republicans (who disagree with this woman) alike, should be standing up to her once and for all. this woman has expressed, many times over the past week, that only the teabaggers and other brain dead asswipes (her followers), were freedom loving Americans...like she/they have a corner on that market. I think not!

Now, that's a lie, but I thought I would beat FAUX NOISE to the punch on this one. Best guess for attendance was between 3-3,500 Teabaggers made it to D.C.

The event started off with an invocation, and then Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo) gave a brief opening statement. In this statement there was NO mention of health care, just a tirade against the liberals and their hatred of the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. So, to make his point, he incited the crowd to recite the Pledge and this is what happened...

The idiot doesn't even know the words for Pete's sake. Truly a wonderful moment.

But this banner, under which the speakers were presented - PISSES ME OFF! If you can't read the banner it says:

WTF are these fukktards thinking...comparing health care reform to the Holocaust? Am I surprised, not really. But I should hope that the surviving members of those who were murdered in these camps - voice their outrage over the rethugs atrocities.

This group of whackos (Bachmann, Akin, Foxx, etc..) want to convince people to fall in lockstep with their views, a party that supported 1)the fabrication in a pretext for war against a country that had made no overt moves toward the U.S. 2) instituted a policy of torture and domestic surveillance, while trampling the Constitution into the ground and 3) pursued a dictatorial level of power for the Prez (V.P.) as a far right radical regime.

What this picture says to me is: "giving money to buy health insurance is like sending people to the gas chambers!".

One must realize that this was not just a bunch of people showing up in protest, but a mob being incited by a sitting member of Congress, as their leader and organizer.

Merriam-Webster defines SEDITION as "incitement of resistance to or insurrection against lawful authority." Personally, I believe that Michelle Bachmann should be charged with sedition against the United States. If she were an intelligent being, I might not go that far, but she has proven her ignorance many times over, in the past year or so. These idiots are cheapening (is that a word) the deaths of those murdered by Nazi's, for political gain. Sick does not even begin to describe the comparison.

Do I think this protest had any impact........DEFINITELY NOT!

THE DANCING INMATES..........

Another video has been released of the prison inmates in the Philippines - and their dancing prowess. Now, realistically these guys are NOT the Rockettes or professional by any stretch of the imagination, but the premise by the penal authorities, that this is a plus to rehabilitation - is great!

The opening song is Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, then some Styx and others, but enjoyable to watch to me.

Since I'm always looking for "bloopers" in movies, TV shows and videos - I found one!! Watch the individual in the blue tutu...He/she starts out wearing high heels and throughout the video, he alternates between the black sneakers and high heels. I would assume the "editor" missed that one.

SUCKS BALLS....BIG TIME!!! I have to allow for Democracy to work, and let the votes count, in all fairness. But much like Prop 8 in California, the outside influences on these elections comes into question. I have faith that with time, ALL states will recognize gay marriages and "heteros" will get on with their own so-so lives.

Actually I wasn't even going to post about this FAIL in Maine, but when perusing the "comments" section, I ran across this....hold on to your hats, it's a doozey!!

"The only problem I have with repealing gay marriage is that it propagates gayness. Let me explain. Homos claim they are born being gay, so that means it is genetic, and heritable. In biological terms homo genes are a defect, an evolutionary dead end. If we discourage gayness, then homos are more likely to marry hetero and breed and pass on their homo genes. Well, if we encourage gayness, people with the homo genes will be more likely to stick with other homos and less likely to breed and pass on their defective homo genes. If we encourage gayness, evolution will naturally eliminate the defective gay genes from the population and then the gay epidemic problem in this country will be much smaller. Just by being homos, homos will eliminate themselves. I say by all means we should encourage them to eliminate themselves. "

Now, for anyone who may have had doubts about the "GAY GENE", this pretty well sums it up, or NOT!! The ignorance abounds in this country and this dumb ass isn't afraid of putting their stupid thoughts in writing.

What are these homophobes afraid of? The so-called Religious Right, is so wrapped up in their own selfish agenda, they have no room in their minds for love and fairness for their fellow man. The concept of free-thinking is foreign in their world. At one time I was amazed that these people could be so easily influenced by lies and distortions of fact - but now it has become commonplace. We see it daily with the influence that FAUX NOISE has on the brain dead.

Well the GOP is managing to carry the banner of OBSTRUCTIONISM rather well. The fact is, since Obama took office, the GOP has blocked and stalled important legislation for the working man. This is all for publicity sake, no doubt. There are thousands of unemployed who have exhausted their benefits, and the rethugs have manipulated the legislative process to keep this bill on hold.

I should hope that those who are now without any income, realize who is to blame in this mess. The democrats caved and allowed for additional tax cuts within this bill to appease these fukktards - and they still want to drag their feet. My heart breaks, thinking of these people, and their dread facing the upcoming holidays. The Congress and Senate people will be shopping and spending time with their families - while these many, may be facing foreclosure, homelessness and yes, possibly suicide.

Yes, they are obstructionists in every sense of the word. Obama has tried reasoning and bipartisanship...but who are the ones unwilling to reach across the aisle here? We know that answer well.

I watched (and became nauseous) John Boehner on John King's CNN show last Sunday, and I became really irate hearing repeatedly - "we know what is best for the people." Since when has the republican asswipes known what is good for the country? They managed to keep an alcoholic, mentally deficient man in the WH for eight years and allowed him to rip the Constitution to shreds - but they (the party of NO) know what is best for all. That would include turning a blind eye on the economy also. It would also include sending countless young Americans to fight and die in an unneccessary war - based on lies and ignorance. So Boehner, as an Ohioian - I'm ashamed that you represent my state - and if you choose to fall off the face of the earth and take your lies and bullshit with you - I'M GOOD WITH THAT!!

As for the EIGHT bills Boehner says the GOP has on health reform....fuggedaboutit!! For all the show and pretense of these morons...it is a rip-off on pre-existing conditions. The people would be short changed miserably, but the insurance companies would still be free to reap their massive profits AT YOUR EXPENSE!

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY, WE ELECTED BARACK OBAMA AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

I believe he has had an uphill battle these past 10 months (since inauguration), but has remained non-plussed and dedicated. Am I 100% happy with everything - NO! But that is democracy. No one will ever be truly happy with every decision made, but I would say I am 90% satisfied. I believe he has to get more firm in his stances and quit trying to appease the unappeasable.

One more thing, because I keep forgetting to post this thought....Michelle Bachmann!! She is "organizing" a health reform protest tomorrow in D.C. and wants all the protesters to "walk the halls of Congress" and look each representative in the eye and tell them they don't want this plan. And dumb fuck Hannity wants to be there to see "democracy at work in the U.S."

This could be interesting - seeing if D.C. security has the guts to allow thousands (cough) get through security and then just "walk the halls." All it takes is one of the whackos to slip a gun through security (not totally unimaginable) and go postal in the House of Congress. This just boggles the mind.

As for Bachmann - since she has perpetuated her thoughts of NOT filling out the census forms in April - I say to everyone in her district - PLEASE FOLLOW HER LEAD - DO NOT FILE YOUR CENSUS FORMS! that's one sure way to eliminate her district and her job! OMG that would be terrific.

OK, I've bored you enough with my blathering....I am sneezing like crazy and have a snot filled head (sorry for the visual), and thegrandson now has a massive ear infection and still home from school. I have been told I am not high risk enough for the H1N1 shot - which is no problem, because there isn't any vaccines here at the moment. So if I die - just throw my body in the nearest pig sty!!!

I'm not foolish enough to think I am a great blogger, as I have stated before, I'm not a very good writer. I just "calls 'em as I sees 'em!" Being opinionated can be both a good thing and a curse at times, but I've reached a point in my life, I don't really give two shits! I would rather express how I feel while I'm alive, than have people wonder, long after I'm gone!

SHE'S NOT "ROGUE"..JUST AN IDIOT!!

This post has nothing to do with Beck, but I loved the interchangeable title theme of this picture. What has set me off over this past weekend, was a statement I read in an article, which stated..."best selling author Sarah Palin..." As I gave this more thought, the madder I got.

Firstly, this book has not even been released and has managed to garner the #1 position on "best seller lists." That's all well and good - but...SHE DIDN'T WRITE THE DAMN THING!

For those of us who have either heard partial or full statements from this woman, we realize that everything that comes out of her mouth is tantamount to a word salad. The thought that Palin has the wherewithal or intelligence to even put pen to paper boggles the mind.

Lynn Vincent was the person chosen by Palin to write this memoir of sorts. Vincent is the editor at Christian World magazine. Her connections in the past with certain co-writers leads one to surmise that "Vincent pals around with whack jobs and racists." (Alluding of course to Palin's miserable attempt to continually link Obama to Bill Ayers).

Vincent co-wrote "Donkey Cons" with one Robert Stacy McCain. This book was a look into the Democratic party and the attempt to link the elections of FDR, Truman and Kennedy - to organized crime. **Isn't the Washington Times (McCain's former employer) owned by that Korean god wannabe Rev. Sun Myung Moon? Just asking.

Be that as it may, McCain once wrote an e-mail, which was eventually posted online by a receptionist, which showed his racial bias.

"The media now force interracial images into the public mind and a number of perfectly rational people react to these images with an altogether natural revulsion. The white person who does not mind transacting business with a black bank clerk, may yet be averse to accepting the clerk as his sister-in-law, and this is not racism, no matter what Madison Avenue, Hollywood and Washington tell us."

Although this may be considered a "private" thought of McCain's (but he did put it out on the interwebs), what he states publicly is far different, i.e., "slaves and whites in the Old South had 'cordial and affectionate relations.'" Now which is he, a hypocrite or racist...or both?

Vincent also ghost wrote a memoir for Lt. Gen. William G. "Jerry" Boykin - the former head of the Army's Special Forces Command. This man honestly thought his job was to "defeat Satan for the Christian nation of America." That would be the whack job!

Vincent appears to have a great deal of experience in relating the thoughts of the religious fanatics and pompous racist asses. When she was webmaster at World Mag Blog, she routinely approved homophobic comments on that site.

During Vincent's initial meeting and interview with SP, Palin made the following statement, as to why she didn't choose a bigger name to write this book.

"If I'd wanted a company man, I'd have hired one. Lindsey (Robert Lindsey) would have given his left nut - excuse my French - to be sitting in that chair. But I want someone who gets it. Who gets that abortion kills more people in this country than cancer, who gets that the Bible is history, that we didn't just tumble out of the trees and start walking upright. I wanted someone, Lynn, who gets that God isn't the spare tire. He's the steering wheel."

Apparently Vincent's response was "wait a second, have you been reading the inspirational quotes on my blog?" Good grief!

Palin also stated during this meeting that "I dream that all of my children will someday be able to walk the streets of this land without fear in their hearts. In my America, the one I hope to build, I honestly believe that could happen." DUH...this coming from the war and fearmongerer herself!

Considering the bar was lowered so drastically for her national debut in August '08 - she can only improve....I guess.

Apparently there is a lot of money to be made from the lunatic fringes of American society, if one tells them what they want to hear!!!

So...Palin as a best-selling author....I THINK NOT!!!

Now, a smart person would have cut this boys hair yesterday or before - so his hair would not have had to have 3 pounds of hair product applied, for his Halloween costume!

Considering the Dennis the Menace cowlick he wakes up with every morning - this cut was long overdue. I'm old school and would chase thegrandson in the mornings all prepared to spit slick the cowlick...but he would have no parts of that. I tried to explain to him it is a "mother thing" - but nah - no spit!

This is just a quickie post...last night as I was perusing HuffPost before bed, I ran across the pictures taken at the White House Halloween celebration. I thought Michelle Obama looked cute, and our Prez chose not to don a costume.

What struck me - and you can call me crazy - is this picture below. At first glance, I looked at the "chef" in the middle - and who do YOU think this looks like?

I do believe that DICK CHENEY would do ANYTHING to get his fat ass back in the White House...even dressing up as a chef!!!!

That's all I have to say...about that!

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a bye this week, and this really throws me for a loop. The upside is that the team has more time to rest up in order to defeat the "to date undefeated" Denver Broncos on Monday night the 9th. I won't be in a jam as there are plenty of games on to keep me occupied.

I read that the Cleveland Browns fans are asking everyone at the game to be late in entering the stadium tomorrow night (televised game). The premise is that since the game is televised they are showing their displeasure with the team and management, and an empty stadium - never looks good! This could be interesting.

Locally, the Steelers are by far the favorite team, but we have more than a fair share of Browns fans as well. A good many Browns fans gave up on the team when Modell moved to Baltimore (Ravens). Since the team reappeared - they now have new as well as some of the old fans.

It was fairly cold last night for Trick or Treat in the neighborhood. I gave out 300 pieces of candy. Trust me, we do not have that many kids in our neighborhood. the police patrol quite well for this hour of fun, and monitor all the cars (some WV plates) that park at the mom and pop store, at the entrance to the area. I think it has gotten out of hand honestly. I'm not sure if these families feel they get better treats or if the area is just safer, but it is a little much.

I almost refused candy to a boy (with a BEARD - his own), because I felt he was too old. He said he was 15, but with the hair on that face, I would guess much older. Thegrandson looked great in his HELLBOY costume, and received enough candy to open a store.

I had "crime scene" tape criss-crossing the front porch, the jack-o-lanterns lit, and a strobe light in the background - and managed to NOT GET ANY PICTURES!! It was fantastic. I close off the porch one way or another, so the kids do not come for treats - since I go a few doors up the street to a neighbors to hand out the goodies. It's probably been about ten years since I have actually handed candy out from my own house. I'd rather have someone to chat with during the melee, than be bored here alone.

Getting the red make-up off thegrandson was a treat. I used my make-up remover and he was whining the entire time - but it all came off rather well. All the candy has been sorted out - thedaughter took some to work with her, some was trashed, and the remainder will be doled out sparingly.

There are a couple of neighbor kids that we are close with, and I made up "special" treats for them...all but one received their package. Thegrandson will deliver the last one to his friend in a little while.

I've changed the kitty litter, have a load of wash in, and now I need to mop the kitchen floor. Whether that task gets accomplished, remains to be seen. The sun is out (only 45*), and I think I wasted that "bonus" hour of sleep....a nap sounds wonderful!!

DON'T FORGET TO SET CLOCKS "BACK" AN HOUR....

I love how the time was established as TWO A.M. - to set our clocks either forward or back and hour. I would assume that hour was chosen as an hour when most people are sleeping or something. If anyone has an answer, I would appreciate knowing, so I can add that to my trivia knowledge.

My only problem, with theson travelling all over the world - I have to assimilate the time difference. At this moment he is SIX hours ahead of my time. Tomorrow he will be SEVEN hours difference. Egypt does change their times, but not at the same time as the U.S.A.

I keep a little clock in front of me (and on the puter) showing the time wherever he is. That way, I won't be trying to SKYPE him while he is sleeping. **Except for when the Steelers were in the playoffs and super bowl last year. I did skype him and blasted the Steelers songs over the interwebs......I loved it! Not sure if he did though!

Be that as it may, we will set ALL the clocks in the house back an hour, around 9 pm, as I am always afraid I will be tired later. Luckily, my bedroom clock, just has a switch (EST-DST) and sets its own time. Woohoo, a no brainer for me.

The rain has let up and the temps are quite cool - 50*, so hopefully we will have a weather event-free Trick or Treat!

Firstly - THE MOUSE or multiples, evaded the traps set last night. they got their fill of peanut butter and never triggered the traps. A suggestion by a fellow blogger is being used tonight - placing the peanut butter on the underside of the plate - we shall see I guess. I plan on winning this match. If this does not work, another blogger has suggested using the night vision goggles and a gun!

Secondly - My car was broken into AGAIN - last night. As I mentioned in this post, the same method was used. The sad part is, the culprit IS KNOWN to the police and myself, but proving anything has been quite hard. The little punk was arrested on other juvenile charges last time, served like 60 days and was back in the neighborhood to pilfer from we, the ones who worked for what we have! I know where he lives and now I'm tempted to stake out his house (and the other punk) and catch them in the act. I even asked the cops, why not fingerprint the car - if his show up - they are definitely NOT supposed to be there? Same old, same old - not enough resources or money. DUH!?!!? Wonder why some turn into vigilantes.

Just for clarification...since the break-ins in April, I have diligently locked my car immediately upon exiting. Last night, thedaughter and I drove in town (she was driving), and SHE DID NOT lock the car! Hmmm...I seem to remember that she was at fault the last time. Her punishment has yet to be decided.

Apparently South Carolina is going to be covering their ass again, as it were. After Gov. Mark Sanford's sordid affair and attempted cover-up, Joe Wilson's scream of "You Lie", another former legislator can be added to the mix. Roland Corning, age 66, was caught leaving a cemetery (go figure) with an 18 year old stripper, a bag os sex toys and Viagra. I'm not sure if there is actually a criminal charge here, maybe trespassing, but I do find it comical. Corning was immediately removed from his position as assistant state attorney general though. I wonder, since so many have been caught in compromising positions - with Viagra - do they have a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company. "The drugs made me do it!"

Lou Dobbs of CNN (the joke of a man), has apparently been caught in a lie. He claimed on his radio show, that his life has been threatened, and he has been shot at - now his wife was a target. When the state police of NJ were contacted, after the initial chuckle, they disclosed that the bullet Dobbs says was meant for his wife, hit the house in the "attic" area, not penetrating the siding, and falling to the ground. This tells me that this shot came from quite a distance, and being so high, she was NOT a target. Dobbs lives in the countryside, with distant neighbors and surrounded by woods. According to the state police, three weeks ago WAS hunting season and incidents like this are many during this time of year. Makes sense to me. I would guess that this goofball was trying to hike up a sympathy audience. Nahhhhh! don't think that will fly.

WTF is up with Joe Lieberman?? never mind, I know the answer. Now he wants to filibuster the Health Reform bill, while just a short time ago, he was anti-filibuster! If this man gets elected again - I may have another coronary. He changes party when it's convenient, and changes his votes on whims as well. Lieberman needs TO GO!!

Another WTF moment - what's with Congress that they feel people do not need an extension on their unemployment benefits. It is typical of these fuktards to WANT to see the breadlines, and more homeless I guess. They have practiced their talent of obstructionism rather well these past 10 months, wouldn't you say?

Finally, another Congressman, Steve King (R-IA), thinks the NFL owes Rush Limbaugh an apology. He has targeted Roger Goodell on this one. Comparatively, he states that J Lo and Fergie should be chastised as well for their racist comments. I'm not really sure what planet this gentleman is from - but he needs to get back to reality. If I'm not mistaken, Fergie is part owner of a team at the present time. My advice to King - get a firm grip on your ears, and pull your head out of your ass!

Good health has returned to this household, the weather was great today - we even reached 73*...how wonderful is that? Of course, it is supposed to rain tomorrow evening during Trick or Treat, so it's back to reality I guess.

I love when the weather starts to turn cold, because we always manage to get a small visitor......a mouse! Since I am not brain dead yet, one mouse usually constitutes a "family" of meeces!

My 12 year old cat Isis, is just about worthless as a mouser. The dog is the first one to scurry throughout the house, when she hears the little rodent! I hear nothing, but the animals and their keen senses do! The only location so far, is under my kitchen sink. After I pulled the toaster out, I noticed the shelf liner had a huge hole - and there was the quite noticeable MOUSE DROPPINGS!!! Egads!!

I have tried the humane traps in the past - and I ended up laying traps continually. The little fuckers once outside, realize they are still alive and traipse back into the house again. So for all my friends out there, I really don't want to piss you off - but I am using the "killing" traps. Please don't rush out to call PETA or the local humane shelter...I just feel better with the rodent population annihilated.

This morning, I came into the kitchen and the cupboard door was open (under sink), and my FAT cat, is walking on the counters. This is a definite no-no in my house. The cat can sit on any piece of furniture, but never on kitchen counters or table. And, for twelve years this has never been a problem. After yelling at the cat and hearing the loud "thud" when her fat ass hit the floor - I discovered that the cat (i assume), had pulled some of the shelf liner outside of the cabinet area.

I am not one of those women who jumps on chairs and screams "eek" when she sees a mouse. But I am territorial. This is MY house - not the MOUSE HOUSE!! I would certainly be freaked out, if one were to run across my sleeping body or come anywhere near my bedroom - so this is why the drastic measures are called for.

These little whiskered rodents can be sneaky but I should hope I can win this battle. There are now two traps under the sink, baited with peanut butter. I have tried cheese in the past, but I have rodents with exquisite taste - thus the PB.

I will update on my success or.....failure. thegrandson wants me to catch the critter so he can have it as a pet. This is so not happening.

Thedaughter and thegrandson have both been home all week with the "flu." Thegrandson will be returning to school tomorrow, and thedaughter does not go back to work till Saturday. the frustrating part of all this sickness, is the ER's are not treating individuals, just sending everyone home and given the basics, i.e., rest, liquids and wait it out. Thedaughter's friend went to the ER last night, she has had a temp of 102+ degrees for two days and they would do nothing.

My question now...since there was not enough vaccine initially given our area, and one has already been through this sickness - does one still need to be vaccinated? I was originally told I was in the high-risk category for the vaccine - but then later told, I wouldn't be allowed. (8 heart attacks, triple bypass, pneumonia prone and I don't qualify!) Go figure.

Thedaughter's employer called the house, to inquire of her symptoms, as they are trying to form some kind of data base for the employees who have called off. But locally, no one even knows what strain of the flu they have, as no testing is being done now. Swab testing runs around $300+ each and apparently is cost prohibitive at this point. Because of the extreme body aches, that one symptom is allowing for an H1N1 diagnosis.

Oh well then!! I'm off to clean up the dinner dishes and await the mouse run!! Hate me now and then get over it!

CULTS OR "RELIGIOUS" ZEALOTS?????

Geesh, where do I start in describing this....cult? I am averse to using the word religion, although it figures prominently in their title, Church of Scientology. Everyone I know is familiar with Tom Cruise's rant many years ago, jumping up and down on Oprah's sofa and his arrogance in discussing Brooke Shields post-partum depression with Matt Lauer. That moment was when I realized, Tom Cruise is a fucking idiot. No more did his movies appeal to me, or for that matter, anything that came out of his mouth.

He had the audacity to declare to Matt Lauer, that he (Lauer) did NOT understand the field of psychiatry, but Cruise himself DID! With all my research to date, I have still failed to find any connection of Cruise with any courses taken in psychiatry. Therefore, all his "intelligence" has apparently been gleaned from the COS. Now there's an accolade one needs in their resume'.

There are many groups of Scientologists, around the world - supposedly all independent of one another, but this I find hard to believe.

I am amazed that one science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard (top picture on left), managed to create a cult, based on extra-terrestrials. Talk about the weak minded! Cults, to me, attract those who are in flux with their life and possible beliefs - and therefore, become prime targets for the likes of Scientologists. Remember in the 60's and 70's, all those who left home for the Hare Krishna's? They were recruiting in airports, bus stations and public sidewalks.

I digress. L. Ron Hubbard founded Scientology in the early 50's, and the cult believes that Xenu, brought people to this earth 75 million years ago in jets, and set them up around the bases of volcanoes to thrive. Humans are considered to be "thetans" trapped on Earth. Thetans have had multiple past lives and preceding being earth bound, lived in other extra-terrestrial cultures. All righty then....

Hubbard started his first church in Camden, NJ in 1953. Hubbard's "Aims of Scientology" were to be:

"a civilization without insanity, without criminals, and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights, are the aims of Scientology."

This so-called "church", to me, benefits those the most who GIVE the most financially. It is structured in such a way, that climbing the hierarchy (gaining more insight into one's spirit), you have to have BIG BUCKS. They have various "machines" which assist members in finding "answers" and self-discovery, that mimic "lie detector" machines. I would assume, there is no truth or honor in such machines and they have been created to mislead and "hook" these morons into their false beliefs.

The news this past week, reflected the guilty verdicts in France against the COS in that country, and they now have to fork over $1,000,000+, on the charges of "organized fraud", for duping many out of their hard earned dollars.

Also, there was a clip at Huffington Post, of Martin Basir and his interview with Tommy Davis, the head of the COS Celebrity Centre in Los Angeles, CA. Davis ended up ripping his microphone off and storming off the set. This was all because he refused to answer the question about the connection to XENU!

Now here's some trivia for you. Tommy Davis is pictured here (at bottom) - his mother is Anne Archer (center), you may remember from various TV shows and especially Fatal Attraction. Marjorie Lord (top picture w/ Danny Thomas), is the grandmother and played Danny Thomas' wife in Make Room for Daddy! (All you old folks will remember that show.) Anne Archer and her son have been avid members of this cult since the 70's. The interview with Basir for ABC's Nightline, was pretty much full of NOTHING. Davis has mastered the art of talking and saying little. He avoided direct questions well and showed his true colors when he walked out of the interview.

Also this week, it was revealed that Paul Haggis, director/screenwriter/Oscar winner ("Crash"), left the "church" in August, after 35 years of membership. This move centered around lies he was told regarding the Scientologists stance on Prop 8. Haggis stated:

"The church's refusal to denounce the actions of these bigots, hypocrites and homophobes is cowardly!"

It has been well known for years, yet unconfirmed, that when becoming a member of this cult, one must sever all ties with family members and/or friends, who may question this "church."

Now to the criminal aspects of this enterprise. Wikipedia can't even avoid the fray...this past May they "blocked editing on their site from all I.P. addresses owned or operated by the COS and its associates, broadly interpreted." Apparently changes were being made to put the COS in a favorable light and deleting the facts of past criminal acts.

In 1979, Operation Snow White was undertaken by the Guardian Office (now know as Office of Special Affairs), "where church members organized and committed the largest penetration of U.S. federal agencies by an organization NOT affiliated with a foreign government, i.e. KGB."

The prosecution gave the following description of their actions:

"The crimes committed by these defendants is of a breadth and scope previously unheard of. No building, office, desk or file was safe from their snooping and prying. No individual or organization was free from their despicable conspiratorial minds. The tools of their trade were miniature transmitters, lock picks, secret codes, forged credentials and any other device they found necessary to carry out their conspiratorial schemes."

The COS also "set up" former member Paulette Cooper, for the expose' she wrote in 1970. Using blank paper she had handled, they forged bomb threats and mailed these items. She was arrested because of the fingerprint connection and prosecution proceedings had begun - when it was discovered through Operation Snow White, of this scheme. Luckily, all charges were dismissed against Ms. Cooper.

I have to question whether this group is a CHURCH, CULT or COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE. They rake in over a half billion dollars a year worldwide, with their marketing of the Dianetics and Scientology materials. Because they have tax exempt status as a religion in the United States (and other countries), the majority feel that is enough to qualify as a bona fide religion. Me....I think the IRS Tax Code needs revamped in regards to these tax exempt organizations.

Revisiting Tom Cruise and his psychiatric statements...when one joins this group, they sign a contract, which states in part:

"Believe all mental problems are spiritual in nature and there is no such thing as a mentally incompetent person - only those suffering from spiritual upset of one kind or another."

With all these events mentioned, hitting the news this week...could the end be in sight for this group? Probably not, because money talks and bullshit walks!

The upside to all this.....I will NEVER be a member of this group because 1) I have a brain and 2) I have NO money!!!

Thankfully, I have that off my chest. Scientologists, much like these other New Religious Movements, piss me off. If I choose to pray to a light bulb - these folks all get their knickers in a twist. Let the crazies attend their church in a tent with snakes, or roll in the aisles...but don't present yourself as a valid faith based organization. Me, St. Mattress for me....and my light bulb!!

Thief that I am, I stole this from my friend Utah Savage. Those who choose to put Al Franken down or dismiss him as a comedian...think again. He does his research and does not back down from an adversary.

Franken essentially put this "brain trust" lady in her spot. Yes, all polls can be cherry picked and finessed. Hard facts are what are important - and he did not allow this woman the opportunity to perpetuate her cause for the insurance companies.

FOOTBALL AND PUMPKIN CARVING!!!

Of course it is Sunday, and my big thing was looking forward to the Steelers kicking Brett Favre's butt!! Hooray - it was awesome.

We have found out that thegrandson's elementary school has an outbreak of the H1N1 - and what does he do today - spike a temp of 100.8*. He is lethargic and has a bad headache as well. He will not be attending school tomorrow and possibly for a few more days. We are playing this one by ear. I have the runniest nose - and a headache...but what's new????

Since thedaughter managed to break her arm last year - after carving pumpkins, we took no chances and carried out the process on the kitchen table this year. All went quite well. Thegrandson is not allowed to play with knives yet...so he was relegated to "cleaning" out the pumpkin as you can see from these two pics.

The expressions he was making were hilarious. The upside is - he can't wait till his pumpkin seeds have finished baking, for his consumption.

The "spider" carving, is the same as last year. We lost the template, but I blew up last years picture and made a new template. It looks great. I have combined the pics of the pumpkins with and without a flash. Thedaughter carved the Spider and the Grim Reaper....I carved the ghost on a tombstone. I think we actually did a wonderful job this year, if I do say so myself.

Hopefully, thegrandson will be well enough to Trick or Treat on Saturday evening. Right now, he is plain miserable. He is such a tiny little guy, when he gets a "bug" he can't fight it off well. Now we start the worrying - I have mastered that art over many years.
