I have yet to hear one reasoned and logical argument against gay marriage.
Bottom line is that the government grants special rights and tax status to married couples.
Marriage is NOT a religious institution. Sure, you can do it in a church, but that's just window dressing because you can achieve the same status in City Hall.
It is all about the paperwork and the rights those papers grant you.
To deny two people those same rights based on their sexual preference is discrimination no matter which way you slice it.
That was even better than the one Colbert did on the gay marriage storm!!
I think government should get out of the marriage business and come up with something that gives people the same civil and tax benefits and make it apply to everyone, staight or gay. Let the churches keep marriage which has only been common practice for a few hundred years of their two millennium.
